A brilliant trio of novellas written by three brilliantly talented YA authors, Chokshi, Menon, and Skye have knocked this witchy, Halloween romance anthology out of the park! I fell in love with each one of the protagonists--and loved the various ways they fell in love and how they intersected. (Also, can we please get a prequel novel of Mr. Brightside and Mayor Grimjoy? Please? Pretty please?)

I adored this fun anthology from these three amazing authors! The stories all flowed together nicely and it was just an altogether delightful, witchy read.

While I’m only familiar with one of the authors contributing to this book, I had high hopes. After reading two of the series that Roshani Chokshi has written, I have come to really enjoy her style of writing, and the way that she creates diverse characters in complex and compelling stories, and was really looking forward to seeing more of that in this paranormal romance. However, this wasn’t exactly what I found in this book.

I’ve read a lot of heavy books lately, so the addition of some fluff to my reading was very welcome. The story itself is lighthearted and fun, and I found it easy to read. However, it came across as especially juvenile and wasn’t as compelling as I would have liked, particularly Chokshi’s story.

The characters did grow on me, and I loved the fact that I didn’t have to include any trigger warnings. I did enjoy the way that they each approached life so differently, yet found commonalities and accepted each other unconditionally. And while the romance was definitely predictable, there’s something so comforting about knowing that there is going to be a happy ending and just sitting back and watching it all play out. The addition of the paranormal aspect and the lore of Moon Ridge was another intriguing aspect of the story.

While I definitely didn’t think that this was an amazing book, it was an enjoyable short read that was fluffy and fun. It was the perfect read between deeper subject matter, and gave my poor overwhelmed brain a break from both life and heavy books, and would be a great book to read during spooky season, especially for younger readers. There isn’t anything scary, and it’s a clear book with nothing in the way of content warnings aside from very minor violence (pushing), so it could be a great book for younger YA readers with a great mix of friendship, paranormal happenings, and a hint of romance (just kissing).

This is a three story anthology filled with romance, Halloween and autumn vibes and I thought it was lots of fun. Here’s what I like and didn’t like:

+ The stories are short and the whole anthology itself is under 300 pages. The stories flowed nicely together even though it’s told by three different authors. It’s perfect for teens.

+ Onny and Ash’s stories were my favorite because Onny’s is a rivals to lovers romance. Onny is into the mystical – she loves astrology, Halloween and believes in love potions and fate. Her rivals to romance story was perfect for her personality. Ash is the quiet, shy artist who is in love with the girl next door, Cassidy. He finally gets to talk to her and finds out she was mutually pining for him too.

+ The friendship between Onny, Ash, and True is tight and I love the three of them together.

~ True’s story was the weakest because it was so insta-love. I did like how she was a science-minded girl and not into Onny’s hocus pocus but her mind is opened a bit on Halloween night. Orion is someone she meets on Halloween night and he’s into ghosts. Theirs is an opposites attract relationship which would have worked out better for me if it wasn’t an insta-love thing. If she had a past with him like Onny did with Byron and Ash has with Cassidy then it would be more believable.

Three besties find love on Halloween night: one was in front of her face the whole time, the other is pining for his his love next door, and the last one meets a potential love on Halloween night. This is a cute collection of stories for teens but I did enjoy even as an adult. And it’s a good one to read for Fall and around Halloween.

This was such a cute and fun read! It’s basically three novellas put together. Each story features a member of a friend group called The Coven on the Halloween night.
One thing that really stuck out to be about this book was the descriptions. They were done so well and it really made me feel like I was reading this in the middle of October instead of the middle of July. It was a really atmospheric read!
I loved each of the three romances featured. They were all unique and involved different tropes which was fun. I’d have to say that Onny’s was my favorite!
This is such a great book to get you into the fall mood!

Three Kisses, One Midnight is a fun cooperative story by three popular VA writers. I was pulled in by Roshani Chokshi. After The Gilded Wolves, I would read anything by her.
This is basically three novellas that flow together to make a story. Each chapter is penned by one of the three writers and focuses on a different character in the trio of best friends. The first two sections are the best. The characters are more concrete and blend better with the story before it. Overall, it's a fun tale about magic and love.

When I first read the summary for this book, I thought it sounded super cute! It was a quick read, one that I really enjoyed. Three Kisses, One Midnight follows three friends as they pursue their own romances at a Halloween ball.

This Halloween, Onny decides to make love potions for her trio of friends dubbed “The Coven,” including Ash and True. Onny wants to finally take a chance with her crush Alexander but is continually thwarted by her rival Byron. Ash has been crushing on his neighbor Cassidy, but he’s too shy and soft-spoken to make a move. True is still healing from a devastating break-up but meets Orion, who sees her true potential.

Initially, I thought this book consisted of intertwining stories, as in different chapters would focus on each character. However, it’s more like an anthology where we get each character’s story separately. Other than the tightly-knit friendship connection, we also see more lore about their town Moon Ridge, which has its own magical Halloween myth.

Each story was very cute! Onny’s was probably my favorite, especially because Chokshi’s humor shone through the page. Her antics in making the love potions were really funny, especially with Byron popping up when she least expects it. Ash was a very relatable character, a shy artist who gets tongue-tied around his long-term crush. Meanwhile, True was a determined character who knows what she wants. It was nice to see her acknowledge that she doesn’t need a romance but can pursue one if that’s what she wants.

That being said, I though the ordering of the stories was not the best. I felt like we didn’t get to see True’s characterization very much in the other stories. Even in her own story, her characterization felt a bit weak, so ending on her story felt almost anti-climactic. Also, I don’t know if I missed something but I expected to see some repeat aspects throughout the stories since they’re supposed to take place at the same time. I suppose it could be that the authors didn’t want to be repetitive, but that almost made me doubt that the stories were, in fact, taking place at the same time.

Still, Three Kisses, One Midnight was a quick, cute read! I liked the characters well enough and found the romances to be adorable. I think Three Kisses, One Midnight is a perfect read for autumn, especially for those who enjoy contemporary stories with a hint of magic!

This was interesting. I liked some stories but not all. Still a really good book. and authors that were a part of this project.

I had an absolute blast with this one, and I think my students will, too. This book is so much fun and the perfect way to celebrate the spooky season.

Although I didnt like how the book started off, I loved the endings the characters got, they seemed really fitting. The Halloween atmosphere was also well-done. Onny's story was super cliche and at times, I was cringing at the writing and plot, because it was so oblivious. The pop culture references also were overdone, a bit. But thankfully, the story got better with Ash and True's part of lives. My favourite by far is True's and Ash comes a close second! Friendship, romance and magic are really the themes of this novel and were executed well, just not upto the mark.

Overall, this was a good read but definitely could've been better.

Oh my goodness this book was adorable! It has all the wonderful fall, halloween spooky, magical feels and I just loved it.Our 3 main characters, Onny, Asher and True, are the best and their friendship is just so great. I also love how the story all takes places in one night and that we get 3 different perspectives and that all the stories flow together so well even though they’re all written by different authors.

This was such a great book! It’s the perfect fall read and I can’t wait until I get my finished copy!

This book? ICONIC. This is originally a Halloween book, which I didn't really care about, but it's good for any season.
Since we have three POVs, I'm going to talk less about them and more on the book as a whole. My favorite part of the characters here is that, even though the book takes place over a few hours, so much talking goes on that I feel like I know all three MCs. They're so close with one another, which makes it so easy to see what each person looks like in the others' eyes.
I do have to say that my favorite romantic story is Onnie's. Her personality is so fun to read about, and (assuming this is her story) Roshani Chokshi is my favorite of the authors in this book. Her rivals to lovers dynamic is so fun, but it also just makes a lot of sense. However, all of these couples just feel so RIGHT. I was marveling the entire time about how meant-to-be they all seemed and the way everyone understood each other so well. They were just so perfect for each other that it made me happy. Additionally, the friendship between Onnie, True, and Ash is adorable. I love them all so much.
The plots are obviously both individual and interconnected. I'd say my only real problem with literally anything in this book is just that I got a bit confused about what was happening when in all of the stories, especially since there were a lot of text conversations happening between the trio at sometimes unspecified times. However, it didn't affect my enjoyment at all.
I'd recommend this any time of year, but it's such a fun and slightly spooky Halloween romance that I'd totally reread.

Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC! This one was probably 3.5 stars because it was really cute. The friendship and idea of the three stories that were different but intertwined was neat. It didn’t have a ton of substance and was a little too cutesie at times, but I could see the appeal for teens and rated it as such. Some teen readers might see it as a 4 star. It was pretty clean. Some profanity but not heavy and no sexual situations just minor kissing. Overall, it was cute, just not a favorite that I’ve read.

The author that was new to me is Evelyn. I’m a huge fan of Roshani’s and Sandhya’s young adult series. Three Kisses, One Midnight is a romantic anthology!!

Three Kisses, One Midnight is a perfectly spellbinding anthology with perfect Autumn vibes that make me ready for Fall! This is a story of three friends, a love potion, and a magical night that will push them all towards finding true love. While this is definitely YA, I loved the innocence and hopefulness of these characters! Onny, Ash and True are such wonderful friends and people! Onny is wrapped up in her idea of what she wants and so entirely throws herself into her belief in fate. It is so sweet and endearing. And then Ash is so sensitive and sweet, I loved him coming out of his shell and going for what he wants. And True is so relatable! She’s been burned before and her guard is up and I just loved seeing her find what makes her happy. The writing in all three of the stories is smart and funny and witty, and the story is simply enchanting. Each story stands so strong on its own and I love how they flowed together. It is a wonderful friend group with such sweet romances. And I loved the magic woven throughout! Just a perfect read for when fall kicks off and just so endearing!

This book was amazing. Normally I don’t like YA contemporary romances. But THIS BOOK. I was smiling and sighing all the way through it. I cannot explain how cute and atmospheric it is. This will be the perfect fall/Halloween read.

I loved ‘The Coven’ and their friendship. I like how supportive they were of each other, and in general I felt that the authors did an incredible job of selling both the friendships and the romances. I feel that their styles merged so wonderfully together, as they already had similar styles. It was a seamless blend that just hit the right tone and spot.

Plus, all the amazing one liners in the books. Onny’s story was definitely my favorite (I have a soft spot for “enemies-to-lovers” and grumpy hero. This was just so adorable and I can’t stop loving it.

A PERFECT witchy read for October.
