This was such a fun anthology to bring in fall! I have always loved Roshani Chokshi's writing, but now I am a fan of her AND Sandhya Menon and Evelyn Skye. Despite being three "separate" stories, their writing styles meshed flawlessly. Roshani's writing continues to be my favorite with her stunning descriptions, beautifully vivid characters, and flawless banter. Her story was my favorite! I also loved the banter between her two characters. I found myself instantly drawn in to her story because of their banter and how three dimensional her characters were. I also loved how light hearted these three stories were. They had just the right amount of creepiness, while also being lighthearted and fun! The only reason I didn't give this book 5 stars was because I thought parts of the other two stories felt forced. Loved the stories!

I received an advanced copy of Three Kisses, One Midnight through Netgalley so I could share my review with you!

Three Kisses, One Midnight has a unique format for a novel; contained inside are three roughly novella-length stories, each following a different perspective from the same friend group as they attend a party and search for romance! This format worked so well for me, as it gave me even more swoon-worthy romance storylines in a single book! Plus, the length of the stories was just right, keeping me interested while reading.

The stories themselves are incredibly cute YA romances, each reimagining familiar tropes in a witchy and adorable way. The overarching trope that is explore in Three Kisses, One Midnight is the “Love Potion,” which is not something I see done very often (or very well for that matter). Three Kisses, One Midnight does a fantastic job reimagining the love potion trope while taking into account the importance of consent in a relationship. I was a little iffy on the concept of a book centering on love potions, to begin with, but I am so glad I trusted the authors, as they did amazing things with it! Each of the stories managed a different way of incorporating the idea of a love potion in a consensual way, which was so refreshing. I was especially fond of the first story, which involves the enemies-to-lovers trope, starring Onny and Byron.

My Recommendation-
If the ending of August has you in the mood for a witchy romance read, you should definitely grab a copy of Three Kisses, One Midnight! I would recommend this book to fans of Halloweentown and The Babysitter’s Coven, as it features a group of friends with a magical twist!

Three short, magical romance stories by three of my favourite YA POC writers. All the stories were magical, fun, and super cute.

So ready for Halloween time!

This book is set during a midnight gala where 3 besties in high school, each are in search of love. But we get to hear about their individual nights separately. As Onny creates a love spell for them, to help them find their true love. As Asher crushes quietly and True skeptically refuses to crush.

But Onny with her ideal dream boy who is interested in her but things keep happening to derail her plans for the night but in the enemies to lovers variety that I adore.

Three authors that I love and I adore whimsy and legend.

Kismet, fate and the help of the stars.

Thank you wednesdaybooks and netgalley for the e-ARC for my honest and voluntary review.

This one is hard to review as one piece because it contains three very different stories about three teenagers with very different personalities as written by three authors with rather distinctive voices. It makes for an interesting read because all the stories are connected by a big party and the teens' friendships, but they really are as different as can be in that great way that opposites attract in friendships.
The first story is the main focus and where most of the world and situation are set up, so it's obviously the one that gets a bit bogged down with details, but Onny's obsession with stars and magic and her evident desire for things to be magical really lighten things up where it could have gotten too generic. The fact that it's obvious how it's going to end as soon as a certain character gets introduced was a bit of a downer for me, but I still found the journey enjoyable.
The second story is Ash's story and it was my favorite because I really liked his personality. It also somehow felt like the most magical story as Ash is the one that opened up the most to the things that could happen.
The last story is True and I confess that I didn't really like her personality much at the beginning, but it worked in the story's favor because it shows that she's the way she is for a reason and hers is the story that shows the most character development.
My top issue - and this is me being nitpicky - is that the timelines make no sense. The number of things that happen in a day and the things that get done cannot happen as they happen. It's inconsequential and most people will probably not notice it, but it annoyed me enough to earn a mention.
Overall, it's a fun read for teens looking for a light read around Halloween and magic without too much commitment.

Happy thanks to NetGalley and Wednesday Books for the fun read!

Every one hundred years in the town of Moon Ridge, the lady of the town descends to walk amongst them. This year, a masquerade to celebrate is being thrown at Onny’s house. Along with her friends Ash and True, all of them will have a brush with magic and the lady of Moon Ridge. Can all three friends find what they’re looking for before the clock strikes midnight?

Three Kisses, One Midnight is such a joyful, warm love letter of a book. It’s perfect for the people who love fall best of all the seasons and who seek a community like the one on Gilmore Girls. Needless to say, I loved it!! All three of the characters felt complex and they went on independent journeys while remaining connected. If I had to pick, my favorite character was Onny, who has Roshani Chokshi’s trademark humor. I truly loved all the characters though and they all brought something special to the story. I also loved the inhabitants of the town, especially the mayor and his husband who epitomize the sunshine and grump trope. And of course, Igor the cat!

Moon Ridge is a beautiful escape for dreamers, romance lovers, and believers in magic. It is the perfect book for fall and spooky season! If you’ve ever wanted to live in an idyllic town like Stars Hollow but with a magical twist- you’ll love Three Kisses, One Midnight.

Thank you so much to Roshani Chokshi, Evelyn Skye, Sandhya Menon, Wednesday Books and Netgalley for a free ARC in exchange for an honest review.

For publisher: My review will be posted on Instagram, Goodreads, Amazon, Storygraph, Wordpress blog, and Barnes & Noble etc

I have two ratings for this book: 4 Stars for the actual target audience, and 3.5 Stars for myself.

"Three Kisses, One Midnight" is the perfect Halloween anthology for teen readers looking for a magical touch to their romances this season. I would definitely classify this is the kind of YA novel that is actually for tweens and teens, not one that is geared towards older YA and New Adult audiences. All in all this is a swift and sweet read, full of the romanticism of fall and a magical Halloween.

I will say that, while enjoyable, there are a few missed opportunities in this book. With three different stories making up this book, while we have a racially diverse cast, it would have been nice if at least one of the three romances were LGBTQ+. I appreciated that there was a prominent gay couple interloped through all three stories; Mr. Brightside and Mayor Grimjoy were a delight and I wish we had gotten a bit more from how they were mythically and magically involved in the whole evening. That said, it would have been a nice touch for one of the main stories to have also been LGBTQ+.

Also, and this is merely personal preference, but I had a harder time loving the other two stories after the first one. One, this is because Roshani Chokshi is one of my favorite authors for her prose, and I spotted it a mile away. So just from that alone, I felt the bar had been set very high because my personal favorite was at the forefront. Additionally, Onny's story was the only one that truly seemed to have a heart connection to the plot of the whole book. Yes, the other two stories were sweet, but they didn't have the same emotional punch as the first where there was a brewing romance in addition to the clutching of grief and memory of Onny's grandmother. This story came off as far more full-bodied than the two after because of that additional connection to the love potion story.

So, do I think this is a super sweet and gently magical read for teens this Halloween? Absolutely, and for that target demographic, I do rate this higher than my personal preferences. For myself, I'm just pleased to have been able to read more of Chokshi's work.

A fantastic read for anyone in search of a cozy witch vibe to kick off their autumn!

This book is something I would have DEVOURED in my early teens, and as an adult I can still appreciate the antics and humor of 3 best friends in a small town learning about love and set with a wonderful halloween tale. midnight kisses to make love potions work? That is TOP tier and always will be. This book also has LGBTQ rep, the three main characters hold different racial and ethnic identities that are well written, and there are fun tropes (looking at the frenemies to lovers within an academic setting), and true friendship bonds!

I love collaborative works like this, which is reminiscent of Blackout, where you see the stories intertwine and come to one culminating conclusion. Each author had a clear and unique writing style, giving our 3 main characters, Onny, Ash, and True, each a totally different voice.

I am an Onny fan (and a Byron fan) just because I know that's who I most would've related to at 15, but sweet Ash and his artistic pining also had me giggling and rooting for him and Cassidy.

The way that the three stories of these three best friends interacted with each other was really lovely to read, and I liked how the supernatural elements were completed. The setting was really unique, especially with Onny’s house being as large and impressive as it was — wherever the three of them were, their location seemed to mirror and enhance the characters and events taking place. I do have to say that I was not super enthralled with True’s chapter as the relationship developed there seemed forced and didn’t really make a whole lot of sense, but the other two were wonderfully written and flowed naturally. This was a really fun commemoration book that will be a perfect read for autumn!

5 stars for 3 stories in one!

Onny, Tru, and Ash are one tight knit "coven". When Onny decides to make a love potion recipe her grandmother made for her(who has recently passed away) she decides that the Halloween Midnight Gala is the perfect place for her and her coven to find true love, sealed with a kiss before midnight. This love potion isn't one to force love, so feelings must already be present to be amplified. The book begins with Onny's story on finding her perfect potion victim and what happens when it ends up drunk by the worst person possible. Ash's story follows up, then followed by Tru. Each story plots a different course for love, but can they all find happily ever after?

Each of these stories is 5 stars on their own, so for them to be all in one is just an extra delight for readers. I love that they are short, sweet, and too the point while giving readers everything they need to know of backstory. The coven is given plenty of page time for you to root for each of them to find love with a bit of the supernatural sprinkled in. Adorable all the way around, and for three different authors to make three stories weave so well together that I can't choose a favorite?! Bravo!

Five stars and a recommendation for Halloween season as these stories will get you in the mood for tricks and treats. Recommended for anyone who enjoys tarot and astrology, as well as those who just want a fun and young romance story. Age recommended for 12+, even adults will like this one. Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you NetGalley for the chance to read the eARC for this cute anthology.

The best part of a great anthology is it gives readers the chance to introduce themselves to new authors and genres that they've never read before. I, for one, in this case, had the chance to read three cute and magical tales crafted together by Roshani Chokshi, Evelyn Skye, and Sandhya Menon, three author's I have yet to explore. Together, the authors did a great job immersing me into the world of Moon Ridge and the romantic struggles of the three main characters: Onny, Ash, and True. Each of their love stories were sweet and I found myself constantly rooting for their happy endings. I am so glad I picked up this book.

This novel was a nice relaxing read and I loved the fall setting. For those looking for a nice cozy read, to get you in the mood for the upcoming crisp, Autumn season, I definitely recommend Three Kisses, One Midnight.

I love these authors other works but something about this book didn’t do it for me. I liked the premise of the Coven’s interconnected stories but I just felt bored through most of the book. It didn’t seem exciting or new or anything, unfortunately.

Thanks to Netgalley and St. Martin’s Press for the ARC of this!

It was absolutely adorable and I loved every minute of it. Each story follows one of three friends finding their way to a kiss at midnight, and when I finished the first I was kind of bummed because I loved it so much and was sad to leave it behind, but the rest were equally good! The variety in relationship types, the quirky side characters, and the light magic vibes worked perfectly! If you want a great Fall vibes romance with very little spookies, this is perfect!

I love the concept of this book, with three interconnected stories interwoven into a novel, and there being some mystery around who wrote what. The fun magic and Halloween vibes are great, although I’d have liked it to feel a bit more grounded in the world. But each of the romances was cute and for the most part are enjoyable.

Title: Three Kisses One Midnight

By: Roshani Chokshi, Sandhya Menon, and Evelyn Skye

Three high school friends nicknamed “The Coven” concoct a love potion and set their sights on finding true love in the town of Moon Ridge on the night of the masquerade ball. It is rumored that the lady of moon ridge will descend to the town from the stars above to walk amongst the people. Will the friends be able to overcome all the obstacles to find true love or will the stars be set against them? Find out in Three Kisses One Midnight.

One of my favorite bits from this delightful book is the friendship that exists between Onny, Ash and True. You can picture the friends hanging out together and hear their banter as if it is occurring in your living room. The book is written in three separate parts, one for each author and as a reader I appreciate the change of tone. If you want to pick up a book that will get you in the mood for fall, witches, potions, and a little bit or rrrromaaance then you should pick up this adorable book.

4 Stars

This is a cute book to read near Halloween as it is set on Halloween night and the book is centered around a Halloween costume party. We get POVs from each of the three best friends and each of them gets a love interest. I love the friendship dynamic between the three main characters and how close they are.

As you all know Sandhya Menon is an auto-buy author for me and I’ve heard amazing things about Roshani Chokshi and Evelyn Skye’s writing so I was very excited to read something by them.

Overall this was a sweet read!

There is a legend in Moon Ridge that states the Lady of Moon Ridge will walk among the townsfolk once every century. The Lady is said to grant people their true desires. A group of friends, consisting of Onny, True, and Ash, intend to have the best time at this year's dance that celebrates the Lady of Moon Ridge, and they hope to get a glimpse of the Lady herself. With a touch of magic and a little bit of romance, Roshani Chokshi, Evelyn Skye, and Sandhya Menon certainly create a night to remember in Three Kisses, One Midnight.

I was looking forward to reading this one since the cover art released. By reading the synopsis, I knew readers could expect some magic, a potential romance, and a masquerade ball. I was sold from the synopsis. I mean, who doesn't love a masquerade ball? Despite having the best elements like the ball and the cute romances, the book turned out to be so much more than that.

This is definitely a dream team of authors that collaborated on this project. Sandhya Menon, author of When Dimple Met Rishi, Evelyn Skye, author of The Crown’s Game, and Roshani Chokshi, author of The Gilded Wolves, completely rocked it with their masterful writing.

If you're looking for an adorable read that includes strong autumnal vibes and a great friendship group, then you must pick this one up.

The friendship group was such a standout. Readers may have no problem finding great friendship groups in popular YA these days. However, with Three Kisses, One Midnight, it feels like the reader joins the friendship group, as if we were friends with True, Onny, and Ash as long as they've been friends. The book places us right in the middle of action, when Onny decides to brew the love potion, and it continues throughout the night of the ball.

While I think the book is quite short, I think the authors were able to tell such a cute, enchanting story within the time that they had. Of course, I wish the book was longer—if only to hang out with these amazing characters a bit more.

Compared to all three couples, I found True and Orion the most instalove couple of the book. True spent a portion of the book, in the beginning, pining over her ex-boyfriend and then almost out of nowhere, True and Orion were falling for each other. If the book was longer, readers may have gotten a bit more development. Though, I admit that the instalove did not decrease my enjoyment of the story. Three Kisses, One Midnight remained as lovely and as cute as it started.

While I understand the reasoning behind it, I wish there were chapter breaks. I read an e-ARC so the final copy may be entirely different. The book was broken up into three sections, but devoid of chapters. Without structured chapters, the book truly encourages readers to devour this all-in-one sitting.

This whole book was so lovely and heartwarming. Also, the town names (Moon Ridge and Twilight Grove), themselves, have so much whimsy. It's a giant hug of adorableness and I absolutely loved it.

Overall, Three Kisses, One Midnight by Roshani Chokshi, Sandhya Menon, and Evelyn Skye was a gorgeous autumnal YA romance book that was as adorable as it was magical. The three authors collaborated together so well. I can't wait to read more from all of them in the future. You definitely don’t want to miss this cute read!

I received an ARC of this book via Netgalley, all opinions are my own.

This was a delightful YA romance following three friends as they discover love on Halloween night. Each of the friends are as different as their feelings about magic and true love, but they complement each other so well. Each of the friends gets their own interconnected novella that follows them throughout the night of the big Halloween party held at Onny's home. Throughout the day and night the each have to come to terms with their feelings on love and magic.

Onny is the romantic of the group. She belives in all things mystical and magical. She is into astrology, tarot, and believes in all of the lore and legend surrounding their town. True on the other hand is a woman of science. If she can't see it or prove it, it doesn't belong in her world. Ash is the third member of their group, and he is artistic and a bit shy. The three of them form "The Coven", which really has nothing ot do with witches or magic, unless you count Onny's love potion. Onny is convinced that the three of them will find true love at her family's annual Halloween party, especially with the help of her grandmother's love potion. Each of the friends has a unique and fun journey to find their person and face their feelings.

I thought this was a quick and fun read. I love Halloween and thought this was perfect cozy read as we begin to enter into fall. It was really cute and the characters were really fun. I loved the Mayor and the Teacher that act as almost guides for each of them on their journey to find love. The grumpy sunshine duo were a nice addition to the story.

*Thank you to Netgalley and Wednesday Books for the review copy. All thoughts are my own.*

Three Kisses, One Midnight is an enchanting tale that’s full of pure magic! It is comprised of three novellas, each told from three different points of view. Three best friends, Onny, Ash and True have called themselves the Coven since they were little kids, and this tale involves their quest for love. It takes place near Halloween, making it the perfect fall read. The first story is Onny’s story, the second is Ash’s story, and the third is True’s story. I found this format easy to follow and I really enjoyed it! I would also like to mention that there’s a great cast of diverse characters which I found very appealing.

The town of Moon Ridge was founded 400 years ago, and legend says that a young woman perished that night at the stroke of midnight when she was supposed to embark with her true love. Every century since, one day a year, the Lady of Moon Ridge comes down from the stars to walk among the people of the town. It is said that she will help those willing to follow their hearts’ desire.

This year at Moon Ridge High, the Coven will come together at a masquerade ball like never before and will interlace magic, science, and art. Onny, Ash, and True believe that everything is in alignment to bring them what they’ve been seeking, all with a little help from Onny’s grandmother’s love potion.

Nothing turns out to be as easy as the friends think. As midnight draws near, the Coven will learn that it takes more than a spell to recognize when love is offered and embrace the magic that follows.

I thought all three of these stories were absolutely adorable! If you’re looking for a quick read, that’s romantic and heartwarming, this one is for you.

Three Kisses, One Midnight follows three friends and their journey to finding love on one very special night. When Moon Ridge was founded 400 year ago, one young woman perished at the stroke of twelve that very same night, losing the life she was set to embark on with her dearest love. Every century since, one day a year, the Lady of Moon Ridge descends from the stars to walk among the townsfolk, conjuring an aura upon those willing to follow their hearts’ desires.

And on this night, the story is told in thirds. One for each friend with moments of overlapping between them. It was fun to see their stories unfold and how they each found love in their own way - enemies to lovers, one tale of courage and one tale of loving and valuing yourself again. I found them all to be heartwarming and cute. I think this book definitely reads on the younger side of YA but a cute low stakes read nonetheless.
