β€œGiving up hope for change is to condemn so many others to misery”

π“π‘πž 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐒𝐬𝐞: Maude Barlow has been a linchpin in three major movements in her life: second-wave feminism, the battle against free trade and globalization, and the global fight for water justice. In this memoir she offers lessons of hope that she has learned from a lifetime of activism.

While the messaging was a bit cheesy at times, I really did appreciate the perspectives and wisdom the author had to offer about the often overwhelming work of activism. I listened to it in small doses when I needed inspiration or a reminder not to lose faith in the work being done when the results are not immediately apparent. Barlow's anecdotes about a lifetime in activism across the socio-political spectrum are both inspirational and heartening.
