I absolutely LOVED this book! As an adult, I was not expecting to be so drawn into a children's novel. However, this book made me laugh, cry, and keep reading until the very end. Shad is a character that I think all children will be able to empathize with, and I can't wait for them to meet him. I would read this book again in a heartbeat!

Focusing on the author’s Arab culture, the magic system, food references, and mysterious Alexandria Academy are immersive and unique. You’ll thank yourselves, no matter where you come from and how old you are, for tagging along with Shad on this once in a lifetime adventure!
