Living a double life is something that I think most queer individuals have experienced. This book was so relatable, so cute and hit me right in the feels.

I really enjoyed reading a book with a bisexual main character and found the protagonist Gina/ George to be very relatable in the way she navigates both the straight and queer parts of her world. I enjoyed the split narrative with half focusing on her life with her boyfriend and the other half focusing on her burgeoning queerness and music career. Would definitely recommend this book to anyone who wants a story with a fun queer love triangle!

I am confused. I liked it when I was reading it but then I read some reviews and they were negative and... I did not disagree. Idk... I guess it is just okay while you are reading but it is very forgettable.

A modern-day rom-com, this is the coming out story of Gina/George, who is trying to figure it all out. This is definitely the first bisexual romance novel I've read, and I really enjoyed it. Lily Lindon writes beautifully and hilariously about the messiness of modern life, no matter who you are.

Laugh out loud funny, this was a cute and amusing romcom. An easy read that kept me interested. I’d recommend to my friends.

I didn't enjoy this read mainly due to the main character as she seemed to endorse the worst and most stereotypically inaccurate traits of bisexuality. I liked the idea that this was a twenty-somethings coming out story but the character didn't have to be portrayed as she was. The side characters were fine but they too seem to the worst versions of themselves under this author. The writing was fine but it was let down by the poor characters.

Must admit this book made me feel my age somewhat, but once I got over that, I really enjoyed it. It's fun, quirky and easy to read. Georgina was a wonderful character. I loved that she was a pianist, having been a piano teacher once myself. A great debut, I'm looking forward to reading Lily Lindon's next book.

On the whole I liked Double Booked – it's a very readable commercial novel about an incredibly insecure girl who realises she's bi and spends the rest of the story exploring this facet of her identity (badly). It's well-written for the type of book that is, I liked that it was set in the world of live music, and Phase (the band that the protagonist joins) was really fun to read about. But the whole story was so exaggerated, it felt really unbelievable – and I'm not even talking about Georgina's slightly unhinged attempts to dress/behave like she's gay. Her relationship with her boyfriend Douglas is so staid, her mum is unbearably twee and out-of-touch, and for a girl who was so repressed, she certainly came to terms with her sexuality and identity very very quickly.

I enjoyed this book very much but felt it went on a bit long. It follows Gina/George on a journey of her finding out who she really is as a person and then becoming two different people to try and fit in. In adopting two identities it means that she does not have to commit to one title. It was good but it could have finished way before it did. The "will she won't she" just went on too long for me. It is a good book though.

This was my first time reading a queer romance and I’m disappointed I didn’t enjoy it more.

It was a really interesting premise with a character in her mid twenties coming to terms with being bisexual and navigating her desire to explore this from within the confines of a long term relationship. However, I found it quite a stressful read and I struggled to understand why the protagonist, Georgina behaved the way she did. I don’t tend to like romances in which infidelity is a major plot point which became a bit of a stumbling block for me. I also didn’t like Kit, the main female love interest at all.

I struggled with pretty much all of Gina’s choices. She seemed quite silly and immature and I couldn’t relate to her at all. I did like some of the minor characters. Her fellow band members were cool (apart from Kit) and Cara was a fun character - I wish she’d been featured more.

I do wonder if I’m just too old and too fed up with romance to have enjoyed this because it gets very good reviews on Goodreads. I also looked up the author on social media and she seems absolutely lovely so I’d encourage anyone who likes the premise to give this a go.

for a book about championing bisexuality and accepting yourself there’s so much biphobia in this book it was unreal.

Gina/Gee/Georgina/GiGi/George makes a point of pointing out really harmful stereotypes around bisexuality multiple times in this book and then…. does it anyway?

She convinces her boyfriend of seven years to make their relationship an open one, using her bisexuality to guilt-trip him, because she doesn’t want to break up with him but very much does already fancy someone else and this whole thing is an elaborate ploy so it’s not cheating if she has sex with her band mate.

She’s an awful person to her friends constantly and seems to think this is perfectly okay as long as it fits her own agenda. At one point she literally hopes for a panic attack so her friends will simper over her and be nice to her after she’s been horrible to them.

Good intentions, awful execution.

I absolutely loved this book. I found the character of Gina/George to be great and I found her dilemmas interesting.

For a person who must navigate the difficult path created by being bisexual I thought this would be a very refreshing and interesting novel.

I just finished this book and I’m annoyed it took me so long to read it because it was a total delight. I loved Georgina from the first page and the supporting characters were all wonderful too (Percival may be my fave). So smart and funny and warm. I loved it. Can’t wait to read Lily Lindon’s next novel.

This book honestly was not what I expected and I am so grateful to have been able to read it. It was both hilarious and almost heart breaking at times.
The experience of coming out and finding one's true self felt so beautifully depicted and I was truly thrilled to read something like this when I was expecting just a light romcom which I would likely forget later on.
Suffice it to say, I won't be forgetting this any time soon.

Such a necessary and funny book! A fresh and validating perspective on what it means to come to terms with your bisexuality despite our society’s entrenched biphobia, told through a hilarious and relatable main character.

This story centralised around Georgina - a confused young woman who relies on her calendar to schedule everything... even sex. When she fears her long time boyfriend is going to propose, she realises she has been living a lie and that she isn't the heterosexual she thought she was but is actually bi. Upon meeting Kit, she joins leabian band The Phase and lives a double life, Gina with her boyfriend and George, the bisexuality keyboard player.

I loved the idea behind this and found the actual story good, although it did take a long time for me to become invested. My main issue though was the blatant stereotyping of what it is to be gay or straight, I just found it wrong. Overall, I thought the story was decent and I'd recommend, particularly as some things did make me laugh out loud.

This book is lacking in many ways, and ultimately ended as a dnf for me. I was looking forward to reading this, but the stereotypical form of the MC rubbed me the wrong way, and the characters aren't particularly well formed or likeable. A shame!

I really enjoyed reading this! Great characters, laugh out loud moments and a great writing style. The character development is awesome. I loved reading about Georgina understanding herself and realising that she doesn’t have to be two different people to please everyone else. It made me feel sad at times when it was clear what made her happy and she felt she couldn’t be that person. I would definitely recommend this book!
