I loved this book by Laurie Gelman. Like her other books, her writing style is hilarious and feels like 'real life.' I hope there are more books in this series because i really enjoy reading about Jen's family and curious what will happen next.

Another funny and great book from the Class Mom series. I find the writing in these stories so spot on and “smells like tween spirit” keeps that same writing style. I’ve enjoyed seeing how Jen’s family has grown and changed over the years in these books.

Another fun novel from Laurie Gelman! Not much of a stand alone, but really enjoyed this fun and entertaining read.

I didn’t realize this was part of a series. But I can’t wait to read the other books. This is the 4th book. I absolutely loved this book. You will laugh out loud with this one.

The 4th installment of the Class Mom returns with the humor and heart we saw in the previous 3 books. Gelman tackles kids growing up, marital issues, aging parents and many more relatable topics. Definitely hysterical, but tugs at the heart strings.

When I requested this book, I did not realize that it was part of a series. Yes, it can be read as a stand-alone. However, I feel that it would have been much more enjoyable if I had read the previous books.
There were some funny parts in the book that did make me laugh. I enjoyed reading about the Mat Moms and their adventures with the tween wrestlers. Overall, though it was not a book for me. Some of the characters did not seem to be well thought out and did not need to be in the book.
I love Jen’s snarky attitude. Her emails had me cracking up!

I loved Class Mom (all and sundry) and I'm glad to hook back up with Jen in middle school and the mat moms of wrestling! So much fun. This was a great read for the long bus ride back from DC with a middle school trip. I literally laughed out loud at many of the oh, so relevant parts. Gelman has a heart too and there were touching moments as well. I can relate to the stench of the teen boy uniform so much that I could almost smell the singlets. Loved it! Recommend!

For anyone that has read Laurie Gelman's books (Class Mom, etc.), this is the fourth installment of the Dixon family, led by mom Jen. She is just as snarky and hilarious as ever. If you enjoyed the first three books, you will definitely enjoy this one. The writing style and snarkiness is off-putting to some, but personally, I think it's hilarious. Jen is mean but funny, apologetic and sometimes self-absorbed, but very, very human.

She has two adult daughters navigating romantic relationships and a 7th grade son, Max, who is on the wrestling team. She is part of the "mat moms" group that takes care of laundering disgusting wrestling gear and sympathizing about jock itch cream and ringworms. The chapters feature her witty emails to the other moms and also deal with Jen's relationship with her daughters, her son and her parents. Her dad has dementia and this is handled well and realistically.

The best thing about Gelman's books is that she deals with real issues, but also tosses in humor. They are readable, enjoyable and a nice break from your own reality.

I just love Laurie Gelman's writing and her entire "Class Mom" series! I feel like I am hanging out with a close friend and getting a peek into her daily life- the whole book I was smiling & laughing at Jen Dixon. I really hope this series never ends, keep them coming!

Jen Dixon is back in the third book in this series (You've Been Volunteered and Class Mom were the first two). Readers who enjoyed the first two will like this one just as much. Jen isn't actually class mom anymore, but she has a new role as "mat mom" for her son's wrestling team, which is actually even funnier. I look forward to recommending this book to readers who enjoy contemporary, humorous women's fiction that is more about families and relationships than romance. Fans of the Sophie Kinsella's books usually enjoy Laurie Gelman too. Great, fun story!

Smells Like Tween Spirit is another amazing addition to the Class Mom series and I found myself laughing hysterically! This is probably one of the most relatable series that I've ever read so being able to dive in once again was an absolute pleasure. If you enjoy a humorous women's fiction novel then this is a must read series! I recommend each and every book!

I have been pleasantly surprised with the entire Class Mom series, and this third installment was no different! Gelman explores themes of love, loss, grief, and healing, managing to weave these topics into a largely comedic and light-hearted storyline. Jen Dixon, the protagonist of Gelman’s series, has served as “class mom” for several years and is back in this novel as “mat mom” for her son Max’s wrestling team. Jen tackles the “mat mom” role with her own unique brand of sarcasm, wit, and snark. Her informative but unfailingly snarky emails are printed throughout the book, and serve as both comic relief and insight into the inner workings of our protagonist. However, in the midst of the hilarity, tragedy strikes for Jen Dixon. Gelman’s clever writing depicts tragedy, guilt, resentment, and eventually healing as she takes us on a journey through breaking family bonds, creating new ones, and mending what was thought to be forever broken.

I loved this new book in the Jen Dixon series. While she’s not a class mom anymore, she is now a Mat Mom for Max, who is wrestling. Her signature emails are still around as is her sparkling wit and her hilarious sense of humor. I devoured this one as I did the others and loved everything about it. There are so serious moments as well and it definitely adds to the complexity of Jen’s character and her life in general. Highly recommended!

This is the fourth installment in the series that begins with Class Mom. Gelman has written a great character in Jen Dixon. She has just the right amount of snarkiness and is definitely a woman who is true to herself.
In the first three books Jen is a classroom volunteer at her son’s elementary school. Thankfully, Gelman has written about Jen’s next phase of life as Max moves on to junior high and the wrestling team. I love that these characters are familiar yet the same story isn’t just repeated in each subsequent book.
Smells Like Tween Spirit will have you laughing and cheering on Jen and her family.

This is my forth book by this author. While it’s not the same time frame as the first 3 (Class Mom, You’ve Been Volunteered and Yoga Pant Nation), it still had the main protagonist Jen Dixon and she’s snarky as ever.

A quick and fun read.

This is my favorite of this four book series by Gelman. She is relatable to every over-scheduled mother trying to juggle all the responsibilities of aging parents and young kids while keeping up with their own personal changes. I laughed so often and was touched in all the right places (and not in a Mary Willy sort of way!). I really hope the snarky emails keep coming and the breath of Jen Dixon fresh air keeps hitting my shelf. A thoroughly enjoyable and quick read, which is perfect for all us moms trying to fit reading into our kids’ busy schedules! I received an Advance Review Copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
