This is the last instalment in the Claire Clermont historical mystery trilogy and it's a satisfying closure to these historical mysteries that mixes history and fiction.
I liked how Marty Ambrose developed Claire and I liked the vivid setting and the well crafted plots.

This was the first book I read from the A Claire Clairmont Mystery trilogy. I loved the story, and spent a lot of time researching back and forth with my reading as to what was historically accurate, or as accurate as century's old gossip can be. I loved the way Marty Ambrose wrote Claire. She had attained a wisdom and calm that was sympathetic, especially in light of all of the heartache from her life choices. I like to think that this ending was viable. In my opinion this was an expertly executed story, and I highly recommend it.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.
