I thought this was an excellent resource for young Bible scholars.
The translation used is easily accesible and understandable for beginning or accomplished readers. The "ready, set, know" format is a fun play on a familiar childhood phrase that will help build quiet time/study skills that will be with a child as they grow.

My only criticism is that the cover and race cars are very "boyish"; I wish there was a more "girly" cover.

I received a dARC from the publisher via Netgalley; this is my honest review.

Ready, Set Know Your Bible by the Barbour Staff is a great resource for families, especially 5-8 year-olds. Ready, Set Know Your Bible introduces kids to the make up and format of the Bible and gives a brief overview of each of the 66 books of the Bible. I enjoyed reading this book, but wish it had a tad more information in it. Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for the opportunity to review this book. My review is also on Goodreads.

Would be a cute book to gift or a starter devotional.

This book was a really great way to familiarize my boys with the books of the Bible and we had a lot of fun learning together! (I learned a lot too!) They often begged me to read one more and were eager to read through this together. I highly recommend this book for young readers and parents who want to help their kids understand the books of the Bible better. It is written in very simple language and had a lot of really easy to understand explanations, helping my kids to understand things better than if it were just me explaining it to them! As a bonus, my boys loved the race car illustrations and it helped get them excited to read this book and learn more about the Bible!

Ready

The Lord your God is with you, a Powerful One Who wins the battle. He will have much joy over you. With His love, He will give you new life. He will have joy over you with loud singing. Zephaniah 3:17

Set.. God is Love! He'll even sing when you take Him as your King.

A devotional to be shared with parents of 5 to 8 year olds. It goes over each book of the bible. A short devotion or commentary (one page). It will give a good introduction to the bible and the main theme of each book. A race car represents the race or battle we are in as followers of Christ. Highly recommend.

A special thank you to Barbour Publishing and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review

This is such a fun format for a devotional. This is a great way to get kids to be interested in reading God's Word. Including something they love like cars and racing can help them stay focused and become more interested in reading the Bible. The simple words and bold text is perfect for younger kids that may have trouble reading. I highly recommend this for young ones who love cars and want to learn about God. My only complaint is that I wish there was more variety in the illustrations. Different kinds of vehicles on each page would be nice.

Thanks to Netgalley for giving me access to this ARC.

I love how this book is setup.

This book touches every book of the Bible. Each overview is short and perfect for kids. Great read!

This is a cute little overview of every book of the Bible, for kids! I like the idea of helping kids understand the books of the Bible, and being able to point them to something that can give a quick summary. It’s get a prominent scripture from each book and a short interpretation of said scripture. I like the simplicity of it.

My only caveat is that the gospels aren’t summaries so much as they summarize one of many parables in the gospels. This is fine is you are reading it as a short devotional, but if read without knowing the Bible or without reading your Bible alongside it, it can mislead some to believe that the parable is what the whole book is about,

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Barbour Publishing for my copy of Ready, Set, Know Your Bible! Complied by Barbour Staff in exchange for an honest review. It publishes May 1, 2022.
This is such a treasure! I love the way that it is set up. I think this would be a fantastic devotional any child would enjoy. I think it's great that they touch on each book of the bible, and that it's not too long.
