Good food and craft beer pairings in this book.
Recipes are mostly aimed at a capable cook but still not overwhelming.

Ear marked several of these to try and can't wait to get into it.

Plenty to choose from and a great addition for those wanting to get more into craft beer

Book received for free through NetGalley

I paged through this cookbook many times over the last several months. Everything looked great: however, I somehow never got the chance to try anything. Reviewing as is for now as it’s been awhile. Thanks for the look in.

I love craft beer, and this cookbook is a fantastic idea! I'm always looking for new and interesting recipes, and this is a great combination.

Some of these recipes are for far more advanced cooks than I am, but if you are a great cook then I would highly recommend giving this cookbook a shot. For those of us who are bigger fans of the simple way of cooking, not all of these recipes are possible.

Also keep in mind some of these craft beers are not available to everyone, but depending on your location there will be craft breweries that will have similar beers.

3.5 rounded to 4.

This is a great cookbook, especially if you like cooking and pairing your food with beer. I cannot recommend the Jager schnitzel enough, it was amazing. We bookmarked many other recipes to try as well and are looking forward to each of them. The book is laid out by type of beer and has a great mix of proteins and vegetables.

The Craft Brewery Cookbook is a great book centered on pairing food and the drinks we love. The only negative is that obviously not all beer is available everywhere so some of the pairings didn't quite work out for me.

5/5 Stars

Thank you to NetGalley and Princeton Architectural Press for providing me with an e-arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This cookbook celebrates the pairing of beer and food. With recipes coming from different craft breweries, the chapters are based on different types of beers.

Each chapter covers a variety of dishes from appetizers to desserts. Each recipe is paired with a beer from the donating brewery. Introductory essays to each chapter cover in more general terms each type of beer and the food that pairs well with it.

Fun recipes meant to show off great craft beer, these recipes are intended for those with an army of prep cooks and have some confusing instructions (a bunch of spinach? one chorizo? take fish out of it,s cooking liquid, rinse it, then put it back?). The best part of this cookbook is the representation of craft breweries, including Jack's Abbey, Stone Cow Brewing, and other small batch wizards. Best enjoyed with a glass of beer in hand, not exactly a practical cooking guide.

Very cool cookbook! Not only do all these recipes sound delicious (and look delicious by the pictures) the recipes showcase different craft breweries around the country. I even saw a recipe not far from me that I had no idea about this brewery!

Tons of recipes that highlight different beers in the recipes. Lots of great pictures of the recipes. All in all a terrific cookbook. Would make an awesome Father’s Day gift too!

An absolutely wonderful cookbook for learning about beers as well as for recipes for foods that not only pair well with craft beers, but highlight their flavors.

The general introduction and introductions to each chapters explore beer types and flavor profiles. I know a decent amount about craft beer, but some of it was new information to me. Beer types are not only limited to ales, IPAs, and "dark beer" as I have seen in other cookbooks. Here we have lagers and pilsners, hoppy ales, belgian-style, dark ales, wheat beers, sour ales, seasonal beers, wild and wood-aged ales, a mix, and group pairings.

The recipes are from craft breweries throughout the US - some use beers in the recipe and some don't but are meant to complement the food. Before I buy a cookbook I make sure it has five recipes that I would make without hesitation. This book definitely passes that test! The five recipes I'm most excited to make are:

*Hominy Corn Posole (to pair with a corn pilsner)
*Brined pork chops with maple glaze and apple chutney (to pair with an American IPA)
*Grilled tofu with fruity Korean barbecue sauce (to pair with a saison)
*Short ribs rellenos (to pair with an Irish stout)
*Smoked adobo chicken (to pair with a fruited farmhouse ale)

As you can see, there is a great variety in both food types and represented beers. (There are also recipes for baking, I am just not much of a baker).

I recommend this book for learning about beer and finding original recipes to pair with beer. It would also make a good gift for a beer lover.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I was pretty excited to get to review this book, as both my husband and I are beer lovers. However, some of the recipes were a little too "extra" for us. I would recommend the waffles with beer-berry compote, and the pretzel bites, as well as the breakfast burritos.

Great recipes in this book and I love the passion for the craft the author has. You actually learn a lot about flavor levels in this book and how they can relate to food.

An informative cookbook with beautiful pictures, mouthwatering recipes, and tasty craft beer. I love the idea of pairing a brewery's signature recipe with their craft beers. If you're not in that area, flavor profiles for the beers are explained so that you can find something similar in your market. Recipes from cultures all over the world are adapted for an American kitchen. The chapters are laid out based on the different styles of beer with an introduction to that style in case you're not familiar or need a refresher, and each section has appetizers, main courses, sides, and even desserts. I can't wait to try out a few of these recipes, particularly the Roasted Mushroom and Garlic Bisque!
