Once, I started this audiobook, I couldn’t stop listening. One trope that I cannot wrap my head around is instant love and I was nervous that I was setting myself up, but this book did not disappoint. It was not instant love but instant lust—the spice was immaculate and the attraction was realistic.
Marni Mann, you did not have to go so hard with the spice, but thank you for doing it. I think you put together a book that kept the spice consistent while still keeping the plot intact.
Between the age gap and forbidden romance, I did not see the the twist and turns coming between Jo and Jenner. It gave grumpy/sunshine, but in a different light. Jenner was closed off, powerful and slight grumpy, while Jo was sunshine, but the type of sunshine that comes after a storm. The type that has to keep pushing to get through the clouds. Jo was strong and independent and knew what she wanted, not allowing anything to stand in her way
I enjoyed that we were giving pieces of friendship and familial ties; that we were able to see how Jo and Jenner were in other relationships outside of each other and it didn’t take away from what was happening it only added to it.
Overall, chefs kiss and I can’t wait for the next book.

I absolutely LOVED this one. This is only the second age-gap romance I have read, but it felt so much more unique and spicy. The characters were relatable and we got a sense of a "I am attracted to you, but let's be realistic" - which is so important. I find that a lot of romance novels tend to air on the side of exaggeration, but I could legitimately see this story happening in real life. I loved Jo and Jenner and the plot twists were so fun!

Highly recommend if you are getting into a new side of romance. You can also definitely read this one without reading "The Lawyer" which is technically the first novel in the series.

I read The Lawyer and immediately added all the future books to my TBR. This is a smutty smut smut fest of a book. Jenner (terrible name) is 🥵. It took a minute to get there but I liked the story of Jo and Jenners relationship as well. This book is exactly what you expect it to be. Definitely will read book 3 about Ford when it comes out later this year!

We already had a glimpse into Jenner's personality when we met him in The Lawyer and I was so excited for more of him and boy did we get it!

The thing that had me in chokehold while reading The Billionaire is the BLAZING chemistry, banter and sexual tension between Jo and Jenner!

Scrumptious, sexy and HOT! Marni nailed it!
