Ken Harrison’s A Daring Faith in a Cowardly World is a book about living our lives without waste, regret, or anything unfinished. Through stories and scripture, Harrison directs us to the lives God has called us to live. Often times, we get in the way of God’s plan. Harrison reminds us to be open to listening for God’s word along our journey. I voluntarily read and reviewed a complimentary copy of this well-written, captivating book, one that I will refer to often on my own religious journey.

I really liked the idea of this book and the confidence of the author in pursuing this manuscript. Unfortunately, to me the focus on getting daring and countering cowardice seem a bit overwhelming to me, detracting from free Biblical nature and pure intention. Several anecdotes seem to tangent far from a Jesus-centric read, in my opinion. Perhaps I am not the right reader for this. To prospective readers I say, this may hold promise for you, but I recommend praying for guidance.

This is my first outing with Ken Harrison.
For a few years I have been looking at how to stay grounded in my faith when the whole world is against me. This is a great place to go.

I am reviewing a copy of A Daring Faith in a Cowardly World through Thomas Nelson and Non-Fiction:

If you ask Christians what they expect to happen to them after they die, and most will say they will go to heaven. And they’ll probably say that they will meet Jesus and hope to hear Him say, “Well done good and faithful servant.”. But there are many believers who know they are not living up to God’s calling on their lives. In fact, many might even admit their lives don’t honor God at all at least Mondays through Saturdays.

Ken Harrison masterfully uses his stories as a Los Angeles police officer in one of the deadliest areas of the country to explain and illustrate deep truths from God’s Word in A Daring Faith in a Cowardly World, This isn’t your typical inspirational book—it’s a hard-hitting work that packs a lot of truth into an easy-to-read page-turner. Each chapter starts and ends with a gripping story that has a twist, a “rest of the story” at the end of the chapter, and packs intense biblical truth and wisdom in the middle.

You will:

Have a clearer picture of what being a true follower of Christ looks like and how to become one
Gain insightful truths that lead to genuine “Aha!” moments in your life
Experience stories you won’t forget and that create a lasting change to your faith
Learn what the Bible says about the myriad of issues in today's culture

I give A Daring Faith in A Cowardly World, five out of five stars!

Happy Reading!
