It's a nice book but starts with barely any understanding of what's happening. There could be a better epilogue and just to explain.
Once I understood with what happening in the book, the book had come to end. Would love to read the next part

The Wolf Queen sets up an interesting world for you to sink yoru teeth into. There is a conflict between two races: humans and wolf people. Although there is a tentative peace between them, tensions run high and the slightest spark could once again ignite a war. Part of the peace treaty demands that humans sacrifice two of their eggs (humans are born from eggs in this world) to the wolves. These eggs can be used by wolves to change their gender.
The art is very pretty and the world design is gorgeous, I especially love the bug steeds that everyone rides. The first book sets up a lot of interesting threads that I hope will be built upon in the next installment. There are already factions forming and hints of double crossing afoot. The world building regarding using eggs to change your gender (and the fact that humans are born from eggs in the first place) is fascinating. I look forward to seeing where this series goes.

*Huge thanks to Netgalley and Europe Comics for providing me with an ebook for Review*
I was initially attracted to this book based on the cover art alone however after reading the synopsis I was even keener to read it. A sci-fi fantasy with giant insects, wolves, egg-laying humans. Count me in.
I’m happy to say that the stunning artwork from the cover continues within the book. The opening 10 pages were both shocking and not what I was expecting. Then we switch to civilised wolves and address gender issues in an inventive way. This is a bold fantasy world indeed.
I enjoyed the colour palette of white, grey and blue and especially liked the contrasting black/white backgrounds. The standout was page46 with the view from through the fire with its bold choice of bright orange and yellow which is hardly used anywhere else in the book.
As I finished this book, I realised that I have no clue where this series may go however, I really want to find out.
