The fun of a series is following the main characters over an extended timeline and multiple story arcs. I have always loved following a series for this reason. On television, I am much more likely to start a series than watch a movie. Especially a law/police drama - Law and Order, NCIS, FBI, Monk, etc. So as you can imagine, the Tracy Crosswhite series, by Robert Dugoni, falls right in my wheelhouse. The 9th book in the series, What She Found is no exception.

Synopsis from the publisher: Detective Tracy Crosswhite has agreed to look into the disappearance of investigative reporter Lisa Childress. Solving the cold case is an obsession for Lisa’s daughter, Anita. So is clearing the name of her father, a prime suspect who became a pariah. After twenty-five years, all Anita wants is the truth—no matter where it leads.

The book is an easy read. The main cast of characters is all there - including my personal favorites, Del and Faz. There were no surprises for me in this one - I figured out the “mystery” pretty quickly, but that didn’t detract from my enjoyment of the story.

This book is recommended for readers who enjoy crime fiction. If you like Harlan Coben, Melinda Leigh, and David Baldacci novels, you will enjoy this series. While I recommend starting with the first book, each novel will also serve as a stand alone story. As with any crime series, trigger warnings include criminal behavior. In this one, there is a murder to solve, I hope you love it!

Robert Dugoni has done it again! The ninth book in the Tracy Crosswhite series is the latest instalment of a cold case detective, working in Seattle. This time, Tracy's investigation uncovers some inconvenient truths that hit close to home and could endanger her career. Tracy works hard to find a work/home balance, and reaffirms what is important to her. Fast-paced, captivating read. I look forward to the next book.

This was my first taste of the Tracy Crosswhite series and like the other series and stand-alones I have read by Dugoni I would rate this read 5 🌟. Although this is #9 in the series there was no difficulty in following along with the characters and plot without having read #1-8. After reading this novel, I was intrigued and motivated to go back to read this series.

In this novel, What She Found, Tracy is a strong female detective on the Seattle police force who is assigned to the Cold Cases department. With the technological advances in DNA matches and acceptance in court proceedings, Tracy looks at these cases but with a call from Anita Childress she is pulled into a 25 year old case. Anita is the daughter of Alice Childress, a reporter that was investigating a story when she mysteriously disappeared. Anita was a young girl and barely remembers her mom, she would like closure knowing what happened to her mother. Of course the husband is the #1 suspect and Anita is willing to know what happened to her mother even if it means putting her father in bad light. This story intrigues Tracy’s investigative mind and pursues this case vigorously.

With many twists, turns and corruption of cops and elected officials Tracy does not back down on doing what is right in digging for the truth even if it means jeopardizing her job. The one angle in solving this case that would make readers think it’s too contrived actually was well researched and plausible. Learning something new is always a good angle.

Wow what a cracking read, thoroughly enjoyed it. I love this series and this did not disappoint. The story was interesting and kept me engaged and it was thrilling. Totally deserves 5 stars.

Well written fast paced and full of twists and turns in this cold case missing person mystery. Detective Tracy is a great character who kept the story going and had me racing until the end. Would recommend this book to anyone who likes a good mystery.

I loved that I havent read the past books in this series and I did not feel lost at all. I was feeling like this book is good its a good solid read and then BAM!!!!! there was a surprise but I was like okay im feeling this. This was a good read.

Another good read by the author Dugoni and his detective Tracy Crosswhite. Tracy tackles cases that she knows justice to the victim and their families has to served. The twenty year disappearance in this book of a young wife, mother and reporter had Tracy on high alert. She wanted the reporter’s daughter to know the truth about know her mother ‘s disappearance. Tracy is methodical with cold cases and this one is no different. She relies on her investigative skills to solve this case that involves questioning some of her own colleagues about their past. This book always dealt with a particular type of amnesia which was interesting . An engaging read with some surprises .

Robert Dugoni’s ninth novel in his bestselling Tracy Crosswhite series, What She Found , grabs readers in the first few pages, and keeps them on their seats throughout the novel. Tracy is working cold cases at the police department, and starts investigating a disappearance that occurred over 20 years prior. The missing person was a journalist and was looking into several important issues of the day; her daughter wants closure and asks Tracy to look into it. As Tracy follows the clues, she uncovers several issues that could put her in danger even 20 years after the disappearance, especially due to the fact that no body has every been found body was ever found.

Dugoni is an excellent storyteller, and the storyline in this novel is fascinating. Readers will be kept on the edges of their seats, and the novel has dozens of unexpected twists and turns. Tracy’s character is likeable, as well as her lawyer husband, and now they have a baby which is a big influence on Tracy’s character. Each novel in the series develops the main characters as they evolve over time, and they seem real. One of the reasons Tracy is so real is that readers can relate to her because she has had several horrible events through her life, i.e., the disappearance of her sister and the suicide of her father. It makes her more empathetic to the victims and their families in the novels.

For those who are fans of the Tracy Crosswhite series, this is a must read; it is well-written and has a plot that is unexpected. Those who aren’t familiar with the series will want to read all of the previous novels. However, this novel can be read as a standalone. This is another good one from Dugoni

I've read many books by Robert Dugoni and have enjoyed them all. This one was no different. His books are faced pace and easy to read. Great characters that are easy to root for. I highly recommend this book.

I have read all the Tracy Crosswhite novels and once I see a new one coming out, it immediately goes on my “to read” list. I was thrilled to be able to get an ARC of this one. I have enjoyed all the books and this installment was no different.

This particular story was really interesting and went in an unexpected direction regarding our cold case missing person. I also liked that even though we know who the bad guys are, justice may not always be served in the way we think it should.

I like being able to revisit the characters I have come to know throughout each book. You get to know each one and understand their motivations. They are Tracy’s family as much as her husband and daughter.

This is the ninth installment of the Tracy Crosswhite series. I have read a few of them although they really are able to stand alone. However, I didn’t like this one as well as the others I have read. The premise is that Tracy, a cold case investigator, receives a call from a daughter who is a reporter. She is looking into the disappearance of her investigative reporter mother who has been missing for 25 years. As she starts investigating, Tracy learns that the disappearance may involve people very close to her.

The build up of the plot really kept my attention and the author is very good at character development. However, the ending was lacking. It abruptly ended without much resolution of some of the main plot points. I would have liked to see the “bad guys” get their due.

I will continue to read the Tracy. Crosswhite series and will go back and read some of the installments I haven’t yet read.

This is book 9 and even though this is the first one I’ve read I was able to follow the story. But I really want to read the other books. It’s so good and I was not able to put it down.

Tracy Crosswhite Book 9. I enjoy this series because I love a GOOD mystery and Robert Dugoni always delivers a 5 star book. Tracy is now working cold cases and a woman comes in asking for Tracy's help looking for her missing mother, who has been missing for 24 years! A journalist. As Tracy digs into the missing woman, the case expands, morphs...right up my alley. I read this book in one day, did nothing but read this book because once I started, it grabbed me, and I couldn't pull away from it.

When Tracy is asked to search for a writer and mother that has been missing for 25 years she has no idea what a hornets nest she will open. Transferring to cold cases allows her to spend more time with her husband and young daughter but this will directly impact her former partners on the force. A page turner and enjoyable read

We are up to book 9 of the Tracey Crosswhite series and honestly I think I could read another 9 books in the series and not be disappointed.
‘What She Found’ sees cold case detective Tracey Crosswhite looking into the 24 year old missing persons case of investigative reporter Lisa Childress. Lisa went out one night to meet an informant for a story and never returned. The police suspected foul play, believing her husband had something to do with her disappearance. But Tracey decides to look into another angle - the stories Lisa was working on when she disappeared. Local government corruption, a police drug task force scandal and a serial killer targeting women up and down a specific highway. As Tracey digs deeper into the stories, she uncovers explosive secrets that could hurt people she loves and cares about, as well as hurting herself.
This was a great murder mystery read that captured my attention and made me want to keep reading. I ended up finishing this book in a couple of days. I really like the new direction that the Tracey Crosswhite books are going in, with her working in the cold case unit. It’s interesting and a bit different reading about cold cases be investigated. Knowing that a simple clue or a bit of DNA collected 20 years ago can reveal a killer years later makes a police procedure book unputdownable. A 4 star read from me.

This is another interesting Tracy Crosswhite book. After being pushed to look into the disappearance of a reporter from 25 years ago by the reporter’s daughter, Tracy realizes that his is much more than a disappearance it has all the things like, Corruption, murder, drugs, it’s all here. As always the author has crated well rounded and developed characters and a great plot line. .

This book is hard to put down.I would recommend the whole series because you get to know her and the other main characters, and understand their motivations better. Although you could read it as a complete standalone, but why would you want too, with such great characters and stories.

I love a good Tracy Crosswhite novel - and they are all good. Having moved from homicide to cold cases, you would think that life would settle down for Tracy. But of course not.

This is an interesting book with a great pace. After being prodded to look into the disappearance of a reporter 25 years ago by the reporter’s daughter, Tracy stumbles upon much more than a simple disappearance. Corruption, murder, drugs, it’s all here. Dugoni always writes clearly and follows an intelligent path. The characters a well-formed, and the plot arc is clever.

This book is hard to put down. I love Tracy as a tough female lead, and have enjoyed watching her expand with husband and child. I would recommend the whole series because you get to know her and the other main characters, and understand their motivations better. That said, I think you could read it as a stand-alone.

Absolutely one of the best books I've read so far this year! Mr. Dugoni brings back the fantastic Tracy Crosswhite in What She Found. As part of her cold case division - well, really, she's the only one - she is working on a case of a missing mother (Lisa), at the bequest of her daughter, Anita. Lisa has been missing for over 25 years, and Anita wants the truth, no matter what it means. In true Tracy fashion, she digs, chases, and ruffles some feathers to get to the truth. It's interesting how the character's home life with her husband and daughter are always worked into the narrative. Cant's say enough about What She Found!.
