Good book with a well done storyline. It was easy to read and the plot was interesting throughout the book. I like the characters and the overall story.

This was a quick read with nonstop action sprinkled with mystery, high school romance, and some possible supernatural situations.

This one ends with you definitely wanting more.

I really wanted to love this love story. It sets up for a sequel. There was some content I felt like was missing. I believe the sequel is prepared to fill the gaps, but I still struggled to grasp the mysterious reason the main characters were being targeted by an unseen force that wants them to be a part. Everyone else seems to be in on this but them too. I just wanted more. However, for an easy-read romance, possibly hi-lo for high school, this was good.

The first book in a planned series carries alot of responsibility. The author must introduce characters that have enough depth to hook the reader while building a whole community of places and people to support them. Plus, the author must tell a story compelling enough to get the reader to come back for more. Jaime Winn has done all of this and more.

There are several stories being told in PULL. Some obvious, two teens surviving high school manage to find each other and develop a friendship that could turn into more. Some not so obvious, someone is trying to kill the teens for reasons not yet explained. Throw in a side story, numbers and dreams included, and Winn has threaded enough intrigue that you're not sure which string to follow first. While this first book does leave many of these threads hanging loose, you'll have to come back for the second book to find out where they may lead.

Overall, this book was interesting conceptually but not very well written. It focused a lot on the wrong things and not enough on the right things

WHAT I LIKED:
The concept is super engaging
The chapters are the perfect length, especially for this type of book
I really enjoy Bimi and the way that friendship is written- the dynamic is just really pure and sums up the teenage experience well. Also, Casey and Nate's relationship is sweet. I LOVE how protective they are of Mischa.
The "meet cute" of hitting the car was sweet and Casey seems very wholesome from the get-go
The time jump was an excellent choice
The first kiss scene was awesome and adorable and gave the right vibes for the relationship

WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE:
Some of the descriptions of the mean girl felt very icky (ie talking about her body in a judgemental way) and I didn't like that
I would've loved to have more interaction wtih Casey immediately if the center of the book is around romance, not just in the prologue ime jump.
There was no reason to randomly bring up Casey at the dinner table- I wanted to see more of a reason for that
The pacing is whack and the tone seems like it was written for a middle school novel, not a high school one
While I thought the whole pining trope was super sweet, I didn't like the way that Casey's POV was written. It felt very juvenile and he didn't give reason for why he liked Mischa, just that he did. For example, when he asks her out, it's awkward but doesn't feel like that's intentional. I'd love to see it be more goofy if it's supposed to be sort of uncomfortable becasue othewrise this doesn't give a solid foundation for the romance which is supposedly at the center of the book
I wish the thriller vibes had made it more into the beginning of the book after the first chapter
I don't like how the parents (Rick and Ellen) are so obsessed wtih Casey's love life and especially with Mischa's since she's not even their kid
I couldn't tell what side of various issues that the book wanted me to be on. I know that readers should be able to do their own thinking and whatnot, but normally, there's some sort of perspective/argument. I was confused with this one as to what that was supposed to be
Mischa really annoyed me, not going to lie
I hate how quick the relationship moves. I wish at least that Mischa had demonstrated a larger crush from the get-go and that they were both pining after each other or that the book was a little longer to give them more exposition

I am not quite sure what I just read. This was a debut YA book and the author did a fabulous job capturing the teenage characters. I know this is the first book in a slated series, but the ending left me scratching my head. As the reader, I wanted to be told why. I would be ok with a cliffhanger, but there is a huge hole in the plot.

Thanks to Bleau Press for an e-ARC via NetGalley. Publication date is anticipated for 8/2/2022.

I was very interested in this book to begin with but unfortunately just couldn’t stay interested. Something about the writing style just put me off

Pull tells the story of two teens who are drawn to each other but is it good or is it bad?

I liked this book a lot although the whole time I was waiting for some religious nonsense to happen. It didn’t (yet?) but this is the first in a series. I’m interested to see what’s next for Mischa and Casey.

I felt for Mischa and what she was going through and I was so very happy with how it ended because I was worried for a bit there. Some shifty happenings are definitely going on so I’ll be looking out for the next book! I feel this was all just set up for the main happenings in the series.

Pull is a face paced suspenseful novel about Mischa who has all of the sudden found herself being drawn toward a popular baseball player Casey. The weird part is that she can see things happening before they do and she has weird encounters with the same group of numbers over and over again. Casey is also drawn to love her and protect her from someone or something out there to kill her. I really thought the plot was well developed and the alternating character chapters helped give each perspective on what was going on. The ending is very abrupt with no resolution to why she is having dreams and why they are being pulled together. There is also no answers as to why the other characters are involved in trying to kill her.

This was a quick read with nonstop action sprinkled with mystery, high school romance, and some possible supernatural situations. This will be a series students will love because it keeps the reader entranced and guessing.
Mischa is known for being a boring nerd. That is, until school superstar and super handsome Casey asks her to prom out of the blue. Suddenly she is the talk of the school. Why has he picked her? They've barely said two words to each other since he moved in with his adoption parents in middle school. But now that he's asked, and she's accepted, they can't be separated. Seems like they were made for each other; the pull is undeniable. But why then are his parents doing everything in their power to keep them apart? And, as if high school romances aren't hard enough, someone is trying to kill Mischa.
This one ends with you definitely wanting more. Can't wait to get this one in our library.

This young adult novel was very interesting and quick read. With short chapters, it was hard to put down because, come on, you have time for one more right? The story follows a 17 year old girl named Mischa who is a strong student academically, has lupus and some very protective parents. When Mischa's best friend Bimi starts dating Nate, the adoptive brother of the school's top baseball pitcher, Casey, the groups of friends begin to intertwine and Casey and Mischa begin to notice one another. But this isn't just your typical teen romance where people start quickly coupling up right before prom, there is also a weird undertone. Mischa starts noticing the numbers 7205 appearing all around her and starts having some weird dreams about Casey. The two almost feel pulled towards each other. A weird youth pastor named Dave is also creepily around a lot and has convinced a cheerleader to become slightly obsessed with witches and occults, and then Mischa starts getting into a lot of accidents and near-misses. Could these things all be connected? You'll have to read to find out!

With all of the necessary elements of a good YA, parents who are too involved, instant chemistry between two people who have never talked or connected before, sneaking around and cutting class, important sports and school events etc., Pull will fit right in with other books in this genre. Aside from a strange pill, there is no mention of drugs or alcohol, or sex content other than kissing, making it very appropriate for younger teens. What sets Pull apart from many other teen romance novels is the unusual paranormal-type incidences that grow in frequency and danger as the novel advances. The book also ends with a bit of a cliff-hanger so I am interested to see how the rest of this series will follow!

I would recommend definitely recommend this book to YA readers and people who like suspense without things being too scary! Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for giving me the opportunity to read and review this awesome novel!

This book is well written from the get go. It quickly pulls you in with a tense action scene, then goes back in time to set everything up, and eventually leads to a finale that leaves you wanting more.

Mischa and Casey operate as dual main characters. They both narrate the book in first person at various times giving unique insight into their personalities. Because of this you feel embedded in the story instead of an outside viewer. Without giving too much away, the story revolves around the aforementioned high-schoolers and an ever-growing series of dangerous and unexplainable events surrounding them. As things heat up, there seems to be a supernatural force they can't fully resist, a PULL if you will, interacting between them. Between that and evidence they're both developing special powers, we get the feeling something much greater is behind everything at hand. As a reader, I can't wait for sequels to know exactly what it is!

Pull is YA in its best incarnation. While the main characters are young and experience teenagery things like love, uncertainty and embarrassment (Mischa frequently has to deal with the impact of an auto-immune disease), they're all self possessed and act independently of each other. Young women are presented as real people with personal agency, a refreshing departure from certain stereotypes.

Pull is highly recommended. Your only regret will be not having access to the sequels!

I don’t normally read this genre but I loved this book! Casey and Mischa were so well-developed and relatable. The combination of romance and suspense kept on the edge of my seat. I can’t wait to read the next one!
