Italy, home restoration and love. In this book we focus on Natalie who moved to Italy after her grandmothers death and paid one dollar to purchase a villa. With 6 months time to turn the villa around Natalie is under the clock. Fortunately there are more people around the town who are doing restorations and they work together. Also, there is a steamy architect. This book is a slow burn but a wonderful little getaway.

I have mixed emotions about this book. I knew nothing about it when I started to read. At first i had a hard time getting into the flow of the book, but once I knew the characters, the story started coming together for me. The descriptions and scenery were wonderfully described as well as the problems with renovating the villa. The concept of trying to put this town in Italy back on the map as a tourist destination was also intriguing. However, the story line and romance of Petra and Natalie was somewhat disconcerting. I did not relate to it, nor feel much for the couple. And the ending was so abrupt. I felt as if there should be more. Altogether parts of this story were very good, but I wanted more. It seems as if we may get more as this looks like it could be the first book in a series. Maybe we will see more

In order to fulfill a dream that she and her much loved Grandmother shared Natalie has purchased a villa in Italy for $1 under the caveat that she must turn it into a business with six months. A mysterious inheritance has given her the funds to commence the renovation however she will need the help of Pietro to succeed, even if they didn’t get off to the best start.

Pietro has deep feelings for his town and this project but is uncertain that it will be successful. He is enchanted by Natalie from the beginning, and it isn’t long before he wants to be there by her side through every challenge that she faces both when it comes to the villa and to life.

I enjoyed seeing this wonderful town and its people through the eyes of Natalie and Pietro as they take us on a romantic journey and show that with love and support all dreams are achievable.

I enjoyed this story. It Takes a Villa is an opposites attract, slow burn tale, that gave us a fantastic setting and charming likable characters. I enjoyed getting to know Natalie and Pietro. They were both dynamic characters and I loved that Natalie was a strong independent heroine. It was interesting seeing the progression of their relationship as they were both so wary of love. I loved that the story took place in Italy. We got such delightful descriptions and you really felt like you were transported there.
This story gave us steam, drama, great side characters, strong family bonds, friendship, hope, dream and finding a place to call home. It was an amusing, refreshing tale that was well written and had me fully engrossed. I would highly recommend this novel to lovers of contemporary romance.

This is the epitome of my deepest fantasies! There was a note in the beginning of the novel where the author mentions that the setting is one of her favorites in Italy. You can tell that this book is almost a love letter to the Amalfi coast in the way it’s described. I need to win the lottery to visit the Campania region! So Natalie goes to Italy to turn an old inheritance into a new and renovated B&B of sorts. Sparks between the new owner and the architect fly, because of course they do🙌🏽 I love the conversation about love; for people starting out in a new relationship, to the ones who have loved their partner for decades. My favorite one in this whole book is actually a conversation between Natalie and Alfonso. It’s not a spoiler so I’ll jot it below🥹 If you’re into enemies to lovers, a family mystery that is definitely giving some tea and a slow burn read, I recommend this book! I received a complimentary review copy from the author via @netgalley and @valentine_pr_ but it no way influences my review.

This was a well written book.. I considered a bit of a slow read initially.

Typically, I give up on such slow reads after a few pages. However, the writing was compelling, so I decided to take a break and go back to this book a few days later. Best decision ever, as I was able to thoroughly enjoy the book.

This was an absolutely breathtaking book! I am so tempted to move to the Amalfi coast after reading.

Natalie and Pietro are like moths drawn to a flame with each other. They try to stay apart, but keep getting drawn together by situations and attraction.

Natalie is in Italy trying to restore a villa as a bed and breakfast and Pietro is on a village board selling houses and villas in need of restoration to people outside of Italy.

This was so beautifully written and I enjoyed Natalie and Pietro as main characters and especially their friends and family. (Pietro’s grandmother is absolutely darling and I wish she was part of my family.)

I was a tad frustrated by Natalie when things got hard with restorations and she decided that she didn’t want Pietro’s help or to see him anymore. I get the frustration, but I don’t think she properly gave him a chance to explain himself. Otherwise, I thought Natalie and Pietro had a great relationship and the book ended on a fantastic note for them.

This story was more than a romance between the two main characters. Natalie and Pietro had a certain chemistry that defied any sort of logic. It was evident from their first meeting that they both held lasting impressions. Natalie had a lot of gumption to uproot her life and move lock, stock, and barrel to Italy to realize her grandmother's and her dream. It was a lot to balance-- loss of a loved one, moving to a new place, renovating a villa, learning a new language, making new friends, switching mindset from the American way to the Italian way. Courage, that's what Natalie had in droves.

Pietro may have been an Italian native, privy to how everything works and then some. He, too, had courage to stand up to his father, to getting the restoration program up to code, to scouring the country for the things everyone needed.

Natalie and Pietro's story was a love story. But it was also about realizing that it is okay to ask others for help and band together to be successful.

I received an advance copy of this book at my request and voluntarily left this review.

Natalie Malone buys a villa on the Amalfi Coast through a program that requires her to restore it within 6 months. throughout the renovation process, she finds herself facing many issues and occasionally trusting the wrong people. But along the way she makes real progress, real friends and maybe even finds love.

The writing had me wanting to jump on a plane to Italy and experience everything first hand! This was such a fun story, centering around home renovation and restoring historical buildings, but there's also strong family bonds, friendships, a search for a mystery man and for. Lots and lots of delicious food!

I loved Natalie, her independence and fierce determination! Pietro grew on me too, and k thought they were a good match in working together on the villa. The romance is this one is slowing going, but once it's there it's great!

Overall, this is a sweet, steamy romance novel perfect for a light summer read! But be warned - reading this book will make you want to hop on a plane or eat some pasta!!

It also takes a village!

Natalie Malone thought that her grandmother’s illness would end their dream of moving to Italy and fixing up one of the empty houses for a euro and starting a business. Natalie found out she was in over her head along with several other people that had signed up for the same program. But meeting architect Pietro Indelicato helped Natalie along with her new friends, all the villagers plus Pietro’s family when things started to go wrong.

I loved It Takes a Villa because it is so much more than just a simple romance because you get a trip to the Amalfi Coast with your limoncello from his family’s lemon groves. Now I want to read Looks Good on Paper and visit Italy again.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Natalie is in Italy, having taken on a project to restore a villa. She should have been doing this with the grandmother, but now she has lost her she is on her own. She seems to be getting help from others in the project and also local architect Pietro, but as things start to go wrong with the whole project everything falls apart. Will she and Pietro end up together?
Great read and a great setting.

I really enjoyed this novel. It's a wonderful, fun and lovely romance taking place it Italy.
I did think, however, that there was too many descriptions of the repairs being doe to the houses and pensione.
I still would recommend this sweet romantic book set in a beautiful town.

🇮🇹❤️As I opened this book, the dedication the author left to her mother made me smile. I immediately knew this was going to be a very sweet and heartfelt book because of the personal connection. I was right.

🇮🇹❤️I may be biased, but I think there is something so magical and romantic about Italy. I met and fell in love with my husband in Italy, so this book was like revisiting an old friend and culture I dearly love. Enough about my background though☺️ “It Takes a Villa,” is exactly what you’d think it would be: A wonderful escape to Italy. It was filled with food, interesting characters, and beautiful scenery. Just a wonderful holiday escape.

🇮🇹❤️Our two main characters, Natalie and Pietro, meet while Natalie is in the local permit office. She is trying to get started on the renovation of her villa, but quickly learns the locals do things at a slower pace. It just so happens to be August, and this is the month when most businesses are closed for summer holiday. Natalie is in a redevelopment program where she’ll have six months to renovate her business and prove she can provide a profit to boost the economy of the town. She wants to turn her villa into a pensione (hotel). We get to see Natalie put everything she can into this project, and along the way fall in love with Pietro.

🇮🇹 ❤️This story has a diverse group of characters and they all want to help and support each other. By the end of the book, you’ll want to pack your bags for your own Italian getaway.

🇮🇹❤️This story is beautifully descriptive and paints such a lovely picture of the region. You can almost taste the limoncello and feel the ocean breezes while touring the city on a Vespa. If you enjoyed the movie “Under the Tuscan Sun,” and need a little vacation… then this book is the perfect summer read. You will get swept away if only for a few hours. Thank you @kilbyblades for this sweet and endearing book. The ending had me smiling, but I so wish there was an epilogue. That being said, I’m ready to read it again. 4.5/5 stars
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

Thank you for the opportunity to review this new novel.

Unfortunately this was not for me. I love Italy but reading descriptions after descriptions bored me to no end. A lot of telling instead of showing...

I put it down around 10 % when I realized that this is the way the author writes.

If there is a way to give a book 10 stars, It Takes a Villa should get them! This book has so many elements that make it wonderful: a strong female lead, Natalie Malone, paired with a wonderful male protagonist, Pietro Indelicato; an amazing community that is strong on family traditions; beautiful scenes set in delightful locales; numerous challenges to overcome for both protagonists; strong friendship bonds; some sadness and loss mixed with tremendous happiness and joy; a mystery revolving around Natalie’s grandmother; and two lost souls finding each other, while both realizing the value of true friendships.

The pacing is perfect and the compelling prose draws the reader into the story from the start. This story develops in a delightful manner. Readers can easily picture the scented sfusato lemon groves, the beautiful architectural details of the villa, the steep streets of the village of Zavona, Italy on the Amalfi Coast, and the boisterous family meals at the Indelicato family home. Natalie has grit and determination and faces each challenge with courage and enthusiasm. Her growth arc is beautiful throughout the story, and is inspiring to read. The ending is refreshing and should leave most readers with a strong feeling of satisfaction at having completed a well-written, engaging, and beautiful book. This book would be an engrossing vacation read, but would also be perfect for a stay-at-home escape from the mundane realities of life. It’s like taking a mini-vacation all on its own!

READ THIS BOOK!! Wow!!

🌅Great setting🍋, good romance💕

A nice armchair trip to sunny southern Italy.

I've heard of the schemes to get foreign investors to restore abandoned properties in dying Italian towns and this story combines romance with a realistic look at the potential pitfalls of these "dreamer" projects. Natalie, the young American female lead who puts all of her money, elbow grease and heart into a large villa renovation and encounters unexpected headaches from day one, fortunately finds herself surrounded by a cast of supportive characters, including other small-scale foreign investors, handsome Italian architect Pietro Indelicato and his spunky grandmother Carlota.

The romance starts slowly after a rocky first encounter, then goes swimmingly for a while until a dangerous building collapse provokes problems. I prefer romances with some obstacles to surmount before any HEA and this one had just enough conflict without going overboard. There's some heat to the romance but I would not characterize it as steamy or explicit. And the building project provides some tension and urgency.

The setting in small towns on the Amalfi coast gave the story a lovely, sunny feel. Careening about on Vespas, sampling the local produce and seafood, meeting over strong coffee and pastry: this is quintessential enjoying la dolce vita and Natalie gets immersed and falls for the lifestyle. Me too!

Not a quick read but I enjoyed it right up to the somewhat abrupt end.

Thanks to Entangled/Amara and NetGalley for sharing a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.

This is an interesting and sweet story. Natalia is living her dream to relocate to the Italian coast. This comes with certain complications. Pietro is an architect who wants to see the town restored to its former glory. The book has a host of interesting and quirky characters. There is also a wide mix of cultures that lends a refreshing view. Natalia and Pietro slowly fall in love as they work towards a common goal of getting the renovations completed.

This book is too descriptive for me. After a few pages I lost interest. Italy is gorgeous, but I'm not reading a book to read descriptions. DNF
