I really enjoyed this book! It was gripping and a good storyline, wasn't sure how it was going to play out but was excited to see!

Following the story of Ben and Shira, a married couple who have an open relationship and the story progresses to Ben getting a girlfriend as does Shira. The storyline makes it a real page turner!

When both Liz and Pamela fall pregnant, I wondered what was going to happen and was intrigued to find out!

Such a fun read and would recommend

The whole point of art (books, music, paintings, dancing etc) is suppose to make you feel something, teach you a lesson or make life worth living. So let me just say that I have a bone to pick with this book.

Thanks again to NetGalley and BookBuzz for allowing me to read this book💗

“I am my Beloveds” follows Ben and Shira as they navigate what it means being in an open relationship, and falling in love outside of their marriage and how it’ll impact said marriage. That’s the best I could do to sum it up, truth be told, now onto the review.

4⭐️/5

I had to force myself to finish this book, not because it was bad but I was watching grown ass adults actively ruin their relationship in the name of ‘love’. I have never seen a couple so deluded into thinking whatever it is going on between them is love. It may have been that as some point, but after going through what Shira went through, something snapped, and it changed into something else. It was like they were holding onto something that wasn’t there, holding on to familiarity. When they just needed to let go. Divorce, babe, divorce. This couple needs a divorce. Plain and simple. I’m sorry. It’s just as cut as simple as that. But I could be wrong. I'm just an outsider looking in. So I'm speaking from a rational/objective point of view and love is anything but rational and objective.

Now this book. There’s so many things I wanna talk about but I’ll limit it, because I may turn this into a Reddit post instead of a review Firstly Shira should’ve NEVER gone out on that date unless Ben was 100% onboard with the idea, which he wasn’t, so in a sense she cheated. But then you find out Ben’s been emotionally cheating, because he’s been feeling distant from Shira. Is that reaction normal? Yes. Is that a good excuse? No. You can’t control your feelings but you can control your actions. From he started hiding his relationship from his wife, he was cheating and that’s wrong. But that again shows that they should’ve taken a step back to work on themselves before adding any other external factors.

Genuinely if these people went to therapy for a minute, maybe just maybe it wouldn’t have gotten this bad. Instead of tackling these issues like a couple, they isolated themselves to deal with the problems as if it was them against each other rather than them against the problem. sympathize with Shira because what she went through, Ben only knows the half of it. But she went through something that changed her not only physically but emotionally, and having Ben around would be a constant reminder of what could’ve been, again this should’ve all been address in THERAPY.

Truth be told I wanted them to get a divorce and just be good friends while they explored the possibility of other relationships, but they're so convinced (mainly Shira) into thinking that whatever they're doing will work, they end up hurting themselves and the partners they took on in the process.

There's so much I have to say about this book, but who am I to talk on something I have very limited knowledge about. So I'll just say, I enjoyed this book even though every single character pissed me off at some point. The book name is fitting (the irony of it), the cover. even the Jewish customs and traditions. It was very enlightening.

"I am my beloved's. and my beloved is mine."
Not gonna lie, I'll probably get that as a tattoo.

Side Note: Respect for my girl Pamela though for getting out. That's all I'll say on that.
