This was such a very interesting read. I became so easily engrossed in this book and just had to finish it in a day. It was obvious that the author has lived such an interesting life. I loved the part were along with a friend they wrote a star trek script the original series. The whole process was very interesting and I enjoyed learning about the processes involved. It was so much fun reading about the authors university days and he had some rather unique lecturer's at Berkley. This section was shocking and also made me chuckle at times. Not only did he become an interesting scientist but certainly took some risks that had me on the edge of my seat at times. Especially the rafting story. This book was well wrote and flowed so well. I really didn't want this fascinating book to end. I definitely recommend this book autobiographies from very interesting people. I am sure you won't be disappointed.

So much praise goes out to the author and publishers for bringing us this fantastic story that really entertained me I am so glad that I found this book.

Richards reeled me in with his heartfelt introduction and kept me interested and engaged with his tales of adventure, misadventure, work, and life.

I had never heard of Richards and was concerned that it might be a barrier to my enjoyment but it didn't matter at all. This is the memoir of someone who has lead a truly fascinating life and I'm confident that his stories would entertain any reader.

Thank you to NetGalley, Pawpress, and Chester L. Richards for giving me a free digital copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review.

The book is informative, even educational, but author Chet Richards maintains a friendly, conversational tone throughout. The stories were a definite surprise.

I wasn't quite sure what to expect when I started this memoir, but I have to say, it was a wild ride from start to finish. If you're a Star Trek fan, space geek, or an adventurer, this book is a fantastic read from cover to cover. It had me gasping and in stitches. Great memoir, and some amazing life stories.

When scientists are speaking to their professional peers, they typically must stay within the narrow swimlanes of their disciplines. What's exceptional about this memoir is Chester Richards's populist sensibility, his willingness to open his soul and adventuresome process to a lay readership, ultimately to express not only the fascination of science but also its profound mystery.

It is one helluva adventure! Literally, my mind was going from a geniuis scientist, to sci fi to a bursting potato. Refreshing and a page turner.
