This one was my least favourite one. It's still a decent read but I found the story wasn't as good as the first book.

I will continue on in the series .

The story was a good one but it was too sexual for a lot of readers. I find it hard to recommend to patrons.

Another solid book in the Barbarian universe. I enjoy that the characters get a little bit more complex with each book!

I am still so in love with this series and I cannot recommend it enough. This universe and these characters are the absolute best and they bring me such joy!

Love, love, love this series and am so excited it was traditional published! I read most of these in 2020 and it was so entertaining while being stuck at home.

The publisher archived the ARC on Netgalley before I could download it to my kindle, leaving me unable to read or review the book.

These books are so much fun! I just know anytime I see a cover with a blue monster that I am going to have a good time. Ruby Dixon's way of writing these lovable barbarians is so clever and makes reading about their romantic escapades an absolute blast. I can't wait for the next book!

Kira just wants to live her life on the Ice Planet and hopefully never have a mate, but Aehako has other ideas. He finds Kira irresistible and even though his Khui doesn't sing for her, he plans to woo her until she fall for him as well. I really do enjoy Ruby Dixon's books! Sometimes when the plot is mainly the emotional relationship with very little outside interference, can be boring, but not with Ruby! I am always grabbed from page one! The additional plot with the aliens returning added some great drama and character development. I will keep reading this series with each new release because the characters and relationships are different from each other and I appreciate that. .

I enjoyed Kira and Aekho's story. These two were so sweet to one another. And while I agree with some other reviews that state that Kira was a bit more melancholy than other characters - her past storyline made that believe-able for me.

This book did have a bit more suspense than the other books and that kept me really hooked into the storyline. Looking forward to reading more about these characters!

“Barbarian Lover” is the third book in Ruby Dixon’s Ice Planet Barbarians series. This book tells the story of Kira and Aehako and follows an alien science fiction/ fantasy romance story. Kira has no plans of finding a mate, however, when she meets Aehako, things change. Kira is one of the very few humans stranded on Ice Planet and although humans are treasured and worshipped and one alien has already made it clear that he’s interested in her, Kira plans on staying single. Kira has a few secrets and believes that no one, not even Aehako, will love and accept her. When the aliens that abducted Kira in the past come back, she realizes she’s a risk to everyone around her however Kira questions if she can give up her new life with someone who may mean more to her than she thinks and whether he will want her once he learns her secrets.

This was my first time reading a book by Ruby Dixon and it had good potential. I wasn’t a huge fan of Asha’s character because I felt like the drama that came with her was unnecessary. Some of the writing was also different than what I’m used to, but Aehako was such a sweetheart and I loved his character!

The Ice Planet Barbarian series is such a weird hoot?
The sex is so well written, but the insanity of the story is just so silly at times it's hard for me not to dismiss the whole thing. I know these are like a viral sensation, and part of me gets it, but another part of me is just like... no.
I don't know! Do I keep reading this series? Do I give up? Maybe alien porn just isn't for me, or maybe it's just Ruby Dixon that isn't for me.

Third in Ruby Dixon's Ice Planet series is Barbarian Lover. In this book, we have Kira who has been implanted with a translating device on her ear by the kidnapper aliens, not the Sah-Khui. She is not very confident in herself. However, it turns out that Aehako who is quite gregarious is taken with Kira. Unfortunately, they do not resonate for each other. You see, Kira is infertile. She had an illness when she was younger that means she can never have children. So, Kira is afraid to get attached because Aehako could resonate to someone else and she would have to endure losing him. Aehako does not give up trying to woo Kira though.

In Barbarian Lover, we see the return of the aliens who initially kidnapped the human women and dropped them off on Not-Hoth. We see a resolution to the question of what if the bad guys come back. We also see the impact of the addition of the human women on the Sah-Khui. There's an expansion to a different set of caves. Also, the set up for the next book and next couple in the series for Barbarian Mine happens.

I enjoyed this book so much! There is a bit more plot going on and action - what with the return of the bad guys. However, there's still a whole lot of spice too! I liked the pairing of Kira and Aehako -- the whole Eeyore/Sunshine trope. It was a fun and fast read - the perfect palate cleanser after reading a book that took me two weeks to get through - reading this one felt like inhaling and finishing.

I absolutely love this series! I mean, who wouldn’t want a sexy blue alien to adore them and woo them by making anatomical courting gifts???

Kira is a strong heroine and one of my favorite human women in the series. She’s yearning to resonate and have a family of her own, but she knows it’s not meant to be. Kira has secrets and she’s worried they will get her forced out of the cave and she’ll be all alone on this strange, unforgiving planet.

Aehako is a happy-go-lucky blue tribesman with a sexy smile, lots of muscles and a flirty disposition. He’s got his eyes set on Kira and knows that she’s his mate despite the fact their khuis (organisms acclimating their bodies to the planet’s atmosphere) are silent. Aehako will do whatever it takes to woo the sad-eyed Kira and he won’t stop until she’s in his arms and his furs.

Oh how I love this couple! Aehako and Kira are perfect together! I love Kira’s strength and her bravery. While she seems stoic and reserved, she’s sensitive and passionate. As Kira’s friendship with Aehako grows, she’s able to shed her vulnerabilities and really blossom. I could easily relate to her.

Aehako is so playful and fun-loving, I just want him for myself! Aehako is everything you want in a hero. He’s strong, caring, kind, funny, loyal, faithful, and completely head-over-heels in love with Kira. Aehako doesn’t shy away from Kira’s standoffishness, he runs headlong and smashes through all her defenses. Aehako saw her vulnerabilities, self-doubts and troubles and shouldered them with ease. How can you not swoon after that? *Dreamy sigh*

I love the heck out this series! Not only are there hot ’n’ sexy strong blue aliens waiting to claim you as their own, there is lots of action, a little suspense and smokin’ hot barbarian-style love making! The books have funny dialogue, great character development and scintillating plots and I highly recommend each and every one of them!

This series has become a guilty pleasure of mine. The latest book definitely has a better story line and better developed characters. Yes there are still plenty of spicy scenes!. Even though I liked this one the best so far I was not a big fan of the ending.
Regardless fans of the series will not be disappointed with the latest romance from the Steamy Ice Planet!!

Thanks to NetGalley for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest revview.

This series just gets better and better with every book (and I had no idea they would be this addicting)! Seriously...if you're hesitant to give THE ICE PLANET BARBARIAN series I try, don't be. They're so fun, sexy, and binge-able!

Just like the other books from this series, I also loved this one. I will keep this review short as it’s a five star read which means everything is well written about this book. Dixon has the same writing style as the first two and I absolutely love it with new storylines and different conflicts. I have to say that this one is my favorite from the series.

This book is about Kira and Aehako. Kira is a shy person, stuck with the alien translator in her ear who wants to be loved but thinks she needs to leave because the bad aliens are coming for her. Aehako is a funny, chill guy who only has eyes for Kira. I really loved these two and totally ship them. They work so well with each other and both have an amazing character development. The other characters from books one and two are also in here so it was great seeing them too. The romance in this one is a slow burn with friends to lovers trope.

Everything was perfect about this book and I recommend reading this series because it is absolutely great. Dixon doesn’t disappoint with the story or romance.

Barbarian Lover tells the story of Kira - a human women living on an alien ice planet after being abducted by a second group of aliens who jettisoned her when their ship malfunctioned (See Ice Planet Barbarians for more details) and her potential lover Aehako, a native to the ice planet who wants to be Kira's mate even if their khui (parasite that helps them survive on the ice planet) don't resonate (the cultural equivalent of fertile mated pairs). If it sounds complicated, it's because it is. This is a rich world of sexy blue aliens who want to shag human females to keep their race alive and because what else are you going to do on an ice planet after your basic survival needs have been met.

If you like steamy alien romance - this is the book for you. Each one in the series follows a different couple (there were many women on the ship with Kira). Kira and Aehako are interesting characters. Kira is barren from a childhood illness and fears she will be banished from the tribe if you cannot add to their gene pool. Aehako is a jovial hunter who is willing to buck tradition and choose a mate for himself. I enjoyed their dance.

This is book #3 in the series!
Kira who has the translator implant has not resonated yet but has an ardent admirer in Aehako.
She happens to catch some chatter from the aliens who stole them on the implant and tries to get as far away from the tribe as possible to not lead them back there. Aehako volunteers to join them with a few others.

It starts to get steamy between Kira and Aehako with the one fur and all. I love how the khui just fixes everything. Some $hit goes down and Harlow goes to get supplies and never comes back. So you know I had to go to KU and see what happened!

Thank you berkleyromance and netgalley for the e-ARC for my honest and voluntary review.

Unfortunately, this was my least favorite thus far. Compared to Georgie and Liz, Kira was just not the main character I was hoping for. I still enjoyed the world these books take place in and the spice (can’t go wrong with that) but I found myself skimming towards the end. I liked that the author finally went back to including those original aliens, but the confrontation could’ve been much more eventful. Overall, it wasn’t bad but I didn’t love it either.
