Choose your Own Adventure books? That was such a fun throwback! I requested this book because I’ve been getting more and more into the graphic novel medium and combined with a type of story I use to love as a child sounded like an exciting idea.

It was really fun to take different paths do discover all the possible endings and ways the story could develop. I found myself restarting it again and again every time I reached and ending and honestly that made me feel like a kid again.

To be honest, a couple paths were not so interesting and did feel a bit wonky cause the story didn’t flow as smoothly but overall it was fine.
The art was not ground breaking and it’s not a decisive factor in the appeal of the graphic novel.

Honesty this was just fun and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a quick read, people who enjoyed this type of storytelling when they were younger and wat to feel nostalgic… and obviously, KIDS! Really think middle grade reader will enjoy it.

styled just like a comic [talk about appeal!] this under-the-sea tale with multiple endings is a brain puzzle albeit easy to muddle among your choices and various options - a relatively entertaining premise taken to heart it's a must if you're a fan of the genre.

This was such a fun read and I had such a fun time choosing which way to go. I loved these kinds of books as a kid and am delighted to see them starting to come back. Of course I got the best ending.

I’m speechless, it’s one of the most beautiful stories that I’ve read.
I recommend it if you’re a child, if you’ve been a child and if you’re willing to be a child another time.
I recommend this book to anyone ‘cause I think you can love it at every age.

I like choose-your-own-adventure books. When I was a child, I loved reading them. I think this is my first graphic novel of this type. The plot is different in each reading and depends on your decisions. What I like about these books is that when you reread them, you can make slightly different decisions and get an entirely different story.

YOU are an underwater explorer, and go on a mission to find the lost city of Atlantis. In other words: on a great adventure. My first story was quick and not so exciting. I should dare more, I guess. On the second reading, I decided this is a fiction graphic novel, and I’m not actually there. And the fun began.

The art is excellent. I liked colorful illustrations. I would recommend the printed version because choose-your-own-adventure books are always better in this form.

I loved choose your own adventure books as a kid, so when I saw this one I knew I had to pick it up and give it a read. I was not disappointed!

This is a beautiful he laid out story in a graphic comic book layout that had readers go back-and-forth between decisions. It was fun and engaging and had a good story to go along with it. I imagine this will be a hit with younger readers, too!

Choose-Your-Own-Adventure books are classics for a reason. Feeling as though you can change the story with your choices, like you get a new story each time you read through, this can engage someone who thinks reading is "boring". Translating this concept to a graphic novel only adds to the appeal. If you have a reader who is intimidated by large blocks of text, the illustrations may help them stay engaged.

The writing tended to be cheesy... but extra cheese sometimes adds to the appeal. Consider pizza.

Colorful and exciting, I highly recommend this books for anyone who enjoys puzzles, comics, and the ocean.

It was difficult reading an e-version of this graphic novel but I enjoyed the storyline and I would not hesitate to purchase a physical copy. It was a fun reading experience! The illustrations are spot on! I grew up on the Choose Your Own

The storylines I did follow I really enjoyed! Being an e-arc, it was a little annoying having to scroll all over the place but if i had the physical copy 100% would have no complaints it was a fun reading experience and my first choose your own adventure!! I think kids will love it but any one else could easily enjoy this as well!

All the charm and humour you expect in find in a classic Choose Your Own Adventure! This would 100% be one of my go-to recommendations for any reluctant reader; the graphic novel format was easy to follow and overall light on the reading, but the classic choice aspect definitely helps to draw a reader's engagement. I loved how this book remained (largely, as far as I can tell) true to the original paperback version of Journey Under the Sea. I image this would help both adults and kids alike bond over a shared love of this book, no matter which format they read.

That being said, this was a digital slog to read. Unless the ebook version of this book (of which I'm not entirely sure there will be an ebook version) has some special features, this just won't work digitally. It was challenging to actually "turn to page 101" while I was on page 5 - cumbersome, plain frustrating and really halted my personal enjoyment in reading this book. I read a digital version of this ARC, and it should be noted as well that if I had a paperback/hardback version this issue would not exist.

I loved everything about this book. I grew up on choose your own adventure novels and this graphic one delivers in every way. From art to story to choices. I’m a huge fan and will seek out other choose your own adventure graphic novels in the future.

Uff, I really liked this graphic novel because of the choose-your-own-adventure format.

I spent a lot of time trying to get to the different endings and not die trying haha, and it was a very entertaining experience. It's definitely worth it, because not only the plot is gripping but also the illustrations. I think it's perfect if you want to change your type of reading, or also if you have a reader's block, it will help you for sure.

I only gave it 4 out of 5 stars, because it would have been cooler to read it in physical, so obviously I will try to get a physical copy when it is officially published in September.

This was such a blast! Reminded me of my childhood when my sister and I use to read these all the time. There was a twist though, this was the graphic novel so it included some super neat artwork among the pages. The writing and outcome were also fantastic. The choosing your own adventure pages gave me so much nostalgia and hitting 'The End' pages over and over, it was so much fun to go back to the previous page to choose the other option as an outcome to see what you got.

5/5 would recommend.

This is a fun graphic novel which brings to life a classic Choose Your Own Adventure book. You find yourself on a mission diving into the sea inside your small submarine vessel, but what do you choose to do when under the sea, explore further or go back, risk your life, or return to safety?

I have always loved choose your own adventure style books ever since I was young, although I have to admit to never reading any of the official ‘Choose Your Own Adventure’ novels (though I think I own one unread one bought in a charity shop). The idea of the books if you’ve never heard of them is that you read the beginning of the story and then are given a choice to do one thing or another. Each choice you make asks you to turn to a different page in the book and continue the adventure there.

I always loved turning the pages in these types of books and finding such different results when you decide to take a different route the next time. With this new edition of the book though, it’s slightly different as it takes the original book with words and has turned it into a graphic novel where you can see what is happening in the adventure rather than reading blocks of text. I enjoyed reading this, although I had a digital copy which made it a touch harder having to scroll through the pages. However I think a physical book will be easier to read and I did enjoy following the adventure and finding different things happening to the main character while exploring the depths of the sea.

The illustrations are brilliant and feel like those in a comic book. I do love the colourful images and how it brings the whole adventure to life. The picture of some of the people you meet in the story are interesting too and I love how engaging all of the images are along with the few words of text dotted around the pages. The story itself takes lots of different twists, but one thing I didn’t like was how many endings there are and how quickly you can finish one adventure. Maybe it’s because I’m used to other makes of these types of choose your own adventure books but this one seemed to turn just a few pages, and suddenly it’s the end. I then tried a different choice only to find the story ending very soon too. It could be the nature of the graphic novel that makes this feel like a shorter read, less text and more pictures makes it quicker to pass through the pages, but I just felt a bit cheated with how quick and short each adventure was and it made me less keen to re-read it and try a new one.

Overall this is an interesting and fun idea, turning the choose your own adventure books into graphic novels for the new generation. I think it could definitely be good for reluctant readers and anyone looking for a fun and easy read while choosing which path to take, but it just felt too short for me and I wanted the adventures to last much longer.

Readers will definitely enjoy this interactive blast from the past.

I was always a huge of the Choose Your Own Adventure series as a kid. I would read them over and over to get different endings. I was excited to see that there was a graphic novel.

In this book, you take a sea adventure. What will hook readers includes sharks, a possible discovery of Atlantis, and dangerous situations with your ship. If you are a reader of graphic novels, you will be able to follow the story easily. If not, you will struggle. However, the plot choices were easy to follow. You just move to pages, just like you did in the original novels.

I would recommend this and others to my son, who loves all graphic novels, but for me, it was a little to hard to follow what was going on. I will stick with the regular novels.

This was a really interesting book! I really liked seeing all the different storylines and the way your decisions could impact which ending you got. It was a really good book and I enjoyed it a lot.

A fresh, updated and expanded version of the original classic. These bright, bold illustrations pull the reader into the story. Most of the plots follow the original, with some updates for technology. I still love all the pathways to Atlantis. I think the graphic novel format works really well for CYOA. Any fans of the original, along with anyone interested in choosing your own path books should definitely pick up this one.
