I love time travel stories! Maeve Greyson has a winner with this book. Will definitely recommend!
Thank you Maeve Greyson, Dragonblade Publishing and NetGalley for allowing me an advance copy for my honest feedback.

I unfortunately didn't realise this was the third book in the series and as I haven't read the first two will not be reading this one. It will stay on my tbr until then.

Satia St. Clair is a microbiologist trying to redeem her credibility in the scientific community after a colleague stole her research and published a paper in his own name. If only she can get some good samples from the loch, she can prove the research was hers all along. But when a ledge crumbles, dumping her into the deepest part of the loch, she thinks she drowned for sure, until a handsome stranger comes to her rescue.
Kane Macpherson has no idea where this woman came from, half believing her to be the fae queen she's named for. With her strange garments, odd speech and mannerisms, and her insistence that she's from 2021, he starts to believe her. Also, the feeling they belong together has him swearing to protect her. But he and his companions are soldiers for Robert the Bruce and when her "visions"reach the wrong ears, it puts her and Kane in terrible danger.
Then, when Satia meets the King's healer and recognizes him as a fellow researcher from her own time, she knows she can return. Can she truly leave the only man she's ever loved?
This story will have you jumping headfirst into lakes and ponds trying to find a gateway to your own fierce and loving warrior. Kane was so protective and patient, sweet and tolerant of her more modern ideas and attitudes. And Satia, after a lifetime of struggling to find a place to belong, finally has her HEA.
I received an advance reader copy of this book. The views and opinions expressed in this review are completely my own and given voluntarily.

Time Travel, Scottish Romance
She fell into a loch, and it took her from the 21st to the 14th century. How could this be, and could she go back to her time? The man who rescued her from drowning also stole her heart, and going back to the future was not as certain a proposition as it might have been, had she not fallen in love. However, her best friend lived in the future, and Satia made a scientific discovery she must deliver to protect her friend should her cancer return. Could she find a way to the future, and would she be able to return to the past and to the man she loved? I enjoyed this story and would recommend it to those who like time travel romance with adventure across the highlands.

Although the books in this time travel series are not connected like most other series, each book does build on each other. This third book in the "Time to Love a Highlander" series has its own unique set of issues and dilemmas. I found these characters to be as wonderful has this author's characters always are, but their emotions are so human, often very raw. The story is remarkable. It takes Satia St. Clair back to the Fourteenth century into the arms of Kane McPherson during Scotland's fight for independence. Along the way we get to meet some interesting people including Robert the Bruce and go on some interesting adventures. Again, I say, although these books not connected by more than the time travel period, the stores just get better and better.

This is book 3 in the Time to love a Highlander series but this can be read as a stand-alone.
Satia is a microbiologist and is doing some research at a highland loch when the ground beneath her crumbles and sends her into the murky depth's.
Struggling for air Satia is pulled from the Loch by a 14th century scott.
Kane is not sure where Satia came from but he
knows enough to know she needs his protection and help.
This book is my favourite of the 3 so far.
What I loved most was that Satia was able to travel back to her own time giving her the opportunity to tie up loose ends and let her loved ones know what happened to her.
Satia is a great character, strong, independent and knows her own mind.
Kane is the typical alpha male and while he is strong and fierce he has a softer side too.
The passion between Kane and Satia sizzles off the pages and there are a few hot scenes to be read.
The story flows beautifully and it has lots of danger as well as romance to keep you turning the pages.

I have recently discovered this author and have really been enjoying her books. She has really pulled me into the world of time travel. Her writing is descriptive and captivating and she does a nice job of describing the scenes so you can easily picture them in your mind's eye. The characters are well-developed and interesting. Satia and Kane meet when Satia falls into a Loch surrounding An Lochlan Uaine where she is a microbiologist. She lands in 14th century Scotland where Kane is a Scottish warlord. He is travelling through the area with his men and happens upon her and pulls her out. Kane is instantly drawn to Satia and she to him. But she is determined to find her way back and he is determined to protect her but not get too close. Both have had bad experiences in love, but something about Satia makes Kane want to follow his heart. His only obstacle is trying to convince Satia to do the same. I found this to be a very entertaining and enjoyable read and the story captured my attention from the start. The characters were nicely developed and there was no question as to how strong their chemistry was. A very well-written story and great addition to the series!

An Lochan Uaine ( The Green Loch)
Loch means lake in Scottish gaelic
Cairngorms National Park
Aviemore, Scotland
2 March 2022
Satia St. Clair and her best friend and roommate Breanna Parker, both grew up in the foster system together. Now Satia’s reputation as a microbiologist is being destroyed by a former lover, Cameron Stote, a research assistant, who stole her research broke who into her files online and put his name and photo on it. Noone believes her, however Satia is trying to help people with her research that might possibly help other people and cure cancer in the near future. Cameron will be caught eventually when asked the difficult questions he won’t be able to answer.
Now Satia and Breanna are at square one looking for more answers in Satia’s research at An Lochan Uaine. She had all her research gear on, but keeps listening to Breanna’s warnings and premonitions. Furthermore, Breanna often predicted correctly about the future with her clairvoyant and psychic abilities. Breanna definitely had a bad feeling and kept warning her, Satia felt this warning was wrong and only from bad indigestion! It had to be was from the bad food Breanna had eaten last night that was over a week old!
Historic An Lochan Uaine
2 March 1314
Satia thought she was dead then she wakes up in ancient Scotland. It was An Lochan Uaine but it looked deserted and totally different. As if man had never touched it, it now has more trees, no roads and no tourists. Plus things made by man were missing like the benches and ledges. It’s was definitely so surreal, especially looking at the most handsome man she had ever seen! This man who wore clothing and spoke so differently too, yet was he was her savior who just saved her life!
At first Satia thought this unusual man and his friends Rob McBride, Jac Innes, Albie Foster and Toff Sweeney were part of a renaissance festival, or a historic movie, as she was in denial she had just traveled through time! Now this man, Kane MacPherson, who just saved her life, was with a group of men who were warriors under the command of Robert the Bruce. The iconic man is also an ancestor of Satia’s according to her the ancestry discovered from her DNA.
Now this loch had many legends and magical stories attached to it, as the water was supposed to be enchanted. As the sky was the limit with so many stories and myths connected to An Lochan Uaine. Plus a bunch of men from the past who believed in this fae royalty such as Fae Kings, Queens, Princess fairies, wood sprites, brownie, elf’s, fae royalty, pixies, gnomes, unicorns, and other mystical creatures. In addition Kane actually thought Satia was definitely the Fae Queen! However, could Satia predict the future and predict things before they happened? Some were things that only he and his men knew!
The attraction between Satia and Kane happens really fast but a woman from the twenty-first century in the fourteenth century can put herself and life in danger. Now Satia wants to help her best friend who had cancer previously that illness can always return. The problem is her heart is with Kane the only man she has ever loved. So when she does figure out a way to return nothing feels the same.
Now Kane is alone and back in the fourteenth century, he is very miserable missing the only woman who ever captured his heart. He truly believes his familie’s curse has returned to shatter his fragile heart. Will Satia be able to return to the future again or is it another no way street? Read and find out if these two star crossed lovers find a way to return to each to each other!

I definitely recommend this book and you can read it in series order or as a stand alone book. I definitely can’t wait for the next book in this exhilarating series!
Another winner from bestselling author Maeve Greyson. This time-travel story absolutely swept me away. It shows how this warrior who has always followed Robert the Bruce opens his heart to an absolute stranger. It always allows Satia, a woman known to have ice in her veins, trust blind love. Do these two have a future or more heartache? A spellbinding time-travel story the readers will absolutely love from start to finish!

Winning Her Highland Warrior is a fantastic time travel romance. The truly instant connection between Kane and Satia is one of a kind! And, that Satia is a descendant of Robert the Bruce and meets him – love it! Her knowledge of the time period added to the story line in a special way that helped her acclimate to the time period once she realized she could not return to her own time.
The way the ‘shock’ of time travel is written is so believable and realistic. That Satia tries to return ‘home’ and struggles with leaving Kane is precious. To find out she is not the only one who has traveled through time is a bit of a surprise. The love between Satia and Kane is heart melting and adorable, so is the hurt they go through to find their HEA. I loved the way these two stand up to and for each other. Truly adorable love story!
p.s. I am not interested in whether or not Breanna finds love with her girlfriend. That whole section could have been left out. Is this added to appease the LGBTQ community? If you want to write a gay/lesbian novel, please do so, but do not add it in to a fantastic heterosexual romance.

Satia St. Claire has to find the secret of An Lochan Uaine (The Green Loch). A secret that could be a treatment for cancer and an assurance of success, if her sister's cancer comes back.
Unbeknownst to Satia, the loch is a doorway to another time. When she falls into the loch, she is saved by the Scottish warrior Kane Macpherson. March 2, 2022 becomes March 2, 1314. Kane loses his heart to the woman who knows part of the future, a future for Scotland and Robert the Bruce. And Satia? Her heart is torn between the man she loves and the sister she left behind.
A time-travel romance between a big Scottish warrior and a woman from the future whose heart stays in the past.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

When microbiologist Satia St. Clair falls off a ledge, she lands in 14th century Scotland. Saved by Kane Macpherson who thinks that maybe Satia could be a faerie queen. Once he realizes she is not a faerie, he soon discovers that her biggest danger is herself when Satia starts giving out future information.
I enjoyed the way the romance was written in this book because you can really see the feelings, they have for each other. What really set this book apart from other books that deal with time travel is that it talks about the people left behind. Usually, I don’t like time travel books because of that, but this book is different.

From modern times to 14th century Scotland into the arms of a Scottish warlord. What more could you ask for?
Falling into a loch as she was taking samples, Satia finds herself being rescued by Kane, who takes her in hand and is determined to protect her. There interaction is so fun to watch and develop.
Of course Satia comes upon something important to her research and needs to get back to modern times. Unfortunately, in telling Kane some interesting facts about the future, the information gets to the wrong people and she is now in danger.
Another great addition to this series that will keep you guessing what will happen next!

Satia St. Clair, our female mc, is a witty, feisty, microbiologist from the 21st Century who is engrossed in finding the final piece of data to not only discover the cure needed to treat her sister, Breanna's, cancer should it reappear, but to also erase the 'fraud' label associated with her name after her former assistant and lover published her research under his own name. The audacity of some men.
During one of her research trips to the Highland loch with Breanna, a crumbling ledge pulls her into its freezing depths without diving gear, and Satia feels herself slowly slipping towards unconsciousness. When she finally comes about, it's to realise that she's sitting on a strangers lap and surrounded by a bunch a men who look like they're shooting a movie for the 14th Century. Except the loch looks different. And Breanna is nowhere to be seen.
Kane MacPherson, after witnessing Satia being spat out by the Highland loch half believes Satia to be of royal faerie bloodline. Especially with her weird clothes and the funny way in which she spoke. But logic soon wins out, and the attraction that Kane and Satia share prompts her to tell him the truth, which come with a series of consequences.
Upon starting this book, I automatically LOVED Satia because of the representation of female researchers. We stan our nerdy, science women!
The attraction between Kane and Satia was very insta-romance, and it took me a while to look past that and fully immerse myself in the book. But when all talk of their attraction faded and they hashed out their...differences *wink wink*... the storyline started to become interesting, and more and more of Kane's sweet personality began to shine through.
All in all, I loved that we were able to find closure with Satia's research and Breanna. I found myself attached to the side characters and am not ashamed I shed a few tears towards the ending.
Winning Her Highland Warrior is a great quick-read for those short on time. It was well written and I didn't find any grammatical errors.
It is also the first book of the author and of this series that I've read, but if I find there is a cross-over with characters for the other books, I would definitely read them.

This was an entertaining, well-written book. It was clever, steamy, and fast-paced. It held my interest and I wanted to know what would happen next. I enjoyed this book and would read other books by this author.

Time travel back and forth in the Highlands is a bit complicated.
I really liked the fact that Satia traveled back and forward in time. There also didn't seem to be a surefire way to have the travel work each time. I felt like we got some modern time background for Satia, but for whatever reason, it didn't seem as exciting as I would have hoped.
Satia and Kane have good chemistry together, but I would have like more of a romance build up and some spice.
Overall I liked the characters and enjoyed the testing of the romance due to time travel. I have like all of the books in this series so far!
Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for providing me a copy of this ARC for my honest review

It's stories like this one that makes me love this author! Maeve Greyson never ceases to amaze me with her time travel series, they are so exciting and her characters are absolutely captivating.
This is Satia and Kane's story and it's filled with plenty of danger, emotions and romance! When Satia is saved from drowning, it's to find out her savior is a Highland warrior and she's now in the 14th century!! What ensues is a battle of wills and finding a way to get back into her time. When love happens, Satia is torn with her decision and my heart ached for both her and Kane.
I found this a well written story and it kept my interest from start to finish. I now look forward to reading the other books in this series.

Satia St. Clair has not had the best childhood, growing up on the streets and foster homes in Scotland and England. However, she did get a University Education and was on the edge of finding a cure for the type of cancer, her sister suffered with. When an ex-lover stole her work, then published it; no one believed that she could have discovered the cure. Determined to prove herself, Satia and sister go to Lochan Uaine where she found her evidence to redeem herself. The Loch is full of folklore and mystery which pulls her into the water and when she comes to in 14th Century Scotland; with a warlord pulling her out of the water, her real adventures begin. In a different time and customs, which keeps the reader on the edge of your seat, wondering what will happen next. Great adventure and surprises along the reading experience.

Winning Her Highland Warrior by Maeve Greyson is a time travel novel, featuring Satia St Clair and her highland warrior, Kane MacPherson. Satia is a modern woman in all senses of the word: she is a researcher confident that she is on the brink of discovering a cure, for at least some forms of cancer. Her preliminary work had been stolen and published by a colleague and she is determined to set that right. She has been locked out of the lab and most of her equipment but she was here with her best friends, Breanna, trying to gather the samples from An Lochan Uaine that she needed, using sub-par equipment but stubbornly carrying on. All of a sudden she can no longer feel the rescue strap that had been attached as she entered the freezing cold loch and her boots were filling up with water. She couldn't push herself to the surface-she was going to drown. Suddenly she felt arms around her and such heat. She had been rescued, but when she became aware of what was around her, she couldn't believe it. Were they making a movie nearby? And where were the familiar sounds?
Things were different 700 years in the past. Firstly, the huge warrior who had rescued her: Kane. He made her feel cared for and warm, certainly warm. All his friends were warning him against her. She was warning herself against him. Especially the reader felt the war going on in her mind and in his, and between them. When he tricked her into marrying him, she wasn't as angry as she should be. She loved him. When they traveled to the court of Robert the Bruce, she couldn't believe her eyes when the professor who had disappeared back in her time, reappeared as a trusted advisor to the king. When they came together along, she discovered he had come the same way she had, and he's been back. She didn't want to leave Kane but she had to see Breanna and share her discoveries. Her heart was broken with her choice, as was Kane's. She promised to return. He didn't believe her. She left anyway. What an amazing story!

A wonderful story about love, fate, destiny, and second chances #MustRead
Love finds you when it is meant to happen. No matter the distance, the time, the obstacles of living - when two souls are meant to be one, the universe, the gods, the fairies, and fate will make it happen. Winning Her Highland Warrior by Maeve Greyson is the heartwarming tale of Satia St. Clair and Kane MacPherson finding each other and falling in love. ❤️ This is a highlander time travel romance set in the year 1314 when King Robert the Bruce was busy liberating Scotland from the grips of England - Kane is one of the kings most trusted advisors. When Kane and his men are traveling through Scotland on their way to Edinburgh they stop at An Lochan Uaine to rest and water their horses, when suddenly Satia bursts from the depths of the loch. From the beginning Kane is drawn to Satia, after saving her from nearly drowning he isn’t sure what to think of the beautiful fae-like woman, he half believes her to be a faerie queen. After all, myth and folklore surround An Lochan Uaine. But even when common sense wins out, something about the beguiling lass demands she be treated like the special woman he instinctively knows she is. And he swears to protect her from anyone or anything. Satia is a street smart, socially aloof, microbiologist, from 2021 and is literally immersed in her research at the Highland loch when a crumbling ledge tosses her into its murky depths without her diving gear. The last thing she expects is for a 14th century Scottish warlord to pull her to safety. Once she starts to process what has occurred as the scientist she is - she is determined to find a way back to her time and her research, the only problem is she feels an unexplained pull towards Kane, as if she has known him forever, can she really go back to 2021 and leave behind the man who completes her? Why do both Kane & Satia feel so much for each other when they have known each other less than a week?
“The ancient ones believe that long ago we were born a mystical whole. One soul. One heart. Never needing another for comfort or companionship. But when we became too powerful, the gods split us in two and scattered our halves to keep them from rejoining. But blessed Danu hears our cries and guides us back to each other if we will but listen and follow.”
Satia & Kane both have fears about love. Neither of them have had good experiences with love…but Kane is more willing to follow his heart if he can only convince his fairy-queen to give love a chance…
“Today is only the second day I have known ye, and yet ye expect me to forget everything I have ever known. Ye want me to follow wherever ye go when ye stood right there and said ye dedicated yer life to serving others. Putting them first. Even before yerself, and I’m damned sure it would be before me, too. Why should I believe in love when it doesna even appear to be a close second on yer list of priorities? Pride, duty, and those to which ye’ve sold yer soul—all those come before love, aye?” -Satia
“I see the woman I met just a day ago, and yet I have known ye all my life. All my lives, in fact, down through the ages.” He nibbled across her parted lips. “I know nothing of ye, and yet I know everything. And I know I need to love ye.” He lifted his head and locked eyes with hers. “Or be forever lost.” - Kane
The passion between Kane & Satia is palpable with scorching hot scenes betwixt them ❤️🔥 yet, the author does a good job of not letting this romance turn into erotica. Overall the story flows smoothly with the anticipated conflict between our H/h not dragging out forever. I only wish the story was longer. Just as Kane & Satia get it together - it’s over. I like to see more of the happy times the characters get to enjoy.
Trigger Warnings: Mention of rape to a prominent secondary character. Death of a secondary character.
Overall Rating 4 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | 4 Flames 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Excellent new time travel romance, from an author who gives you all the feelings a good romance writer should.
Maeve Grayson has been a favourite of mine since she joined the Dragonblade family and I first read her books. She has a great way of drawing you into her world and characters lives.
Her characters in this are so adorable, Kane is an Alpha male who is an advisor to King Robert the Bruce back in the 1400’s, Satia is a Micro biologist who falls into a Loch and time travels backwards, crashing into Kanes life and his heart.
Their adventures are well written and their chemistry is electric, a great story that will keep you entertained and intrigued.
I received an Arc copy of this book and chose to post this review
