When he accidentally knocks down a lady during a rainy night, Lord Quinten Beckham, Earl of Rosemont, finds he can't drag himself away from her side. Lady Cassandra Worth doesn't blame anyone but herself for the accident, and she never expected she would be attracted to a man again after being jilted at the altar, but Quinn incites something like never before. He is a military man, who recently inherited his late brother's title, and guardianship of his young nieces. Quinn has also found himself in a lot of debt, and he'll need to sell off much of the estate if he wants to remain afloat. So when Cassandra's grandmother says she will cover all the debts, and more, if he marries her granddaughter, Quinn begrudgingly agrees, though only if Cassandra approves the match. Neither expected to marry, and definitely not to find love, but will Quinn be able to give up his work in order to keep his family?

This was such a lovely book, that I actually read it all in one setting. Quinten had never expected to be earl, but his brother and sister in law recently died, leaving him with the title, the estate, and guardianship of his two young nieces. He's too focused on his military work, and his espionage too, and marrying has never been something he thought he'd do, because of the risks he tasks. But because of the debts the title had racked up, he knew he needed to do something major, and marrying Cassandra was his plan. But as he spent time with her, though not a 'true' marriage to begin with, and saw her as a mother figure to the small girls, he fell for her, as she fell for him too. I loved how protective he was over his loved ones, especially when Cassandra didn't take care of herself as he wishes she would. They had some really sweet moments, and the last few chapters took a turn I was not expecting. I do hope we get to see the other books in the series, as I'm sure it's supposed to be a trilogy, but book 2 and 3 haven't been released yet!

This was a fun marriage of convenience story. The characters were entertaining and the story enjoyable. Definitely recommended.

A Love for all Time unfolds beautifully and will hold your attention from the moment you begin the journey with Lady Cassandra and Colonel Quinten until the very end! The first in Men of Valor series promises to be a series full of suspense, secret missions and romance. Laura Landon has written a story that's filled with characters with individual personalities that become more than just part of the tale pull you into their tail, sweet passion and with a heartfelt plot that leaves you looking forward to the next in the series.

I agree with others about the uncle's could of caused more trouble, I was waiting for them to lol, and with the hero being in the war and a spy I thought he would be more tougher than he was, knees getting weak all the time, and I felt H/h fell in love just to quickly. All in all very enjoyable.

A Love For All Time is the first in the Men of Valor series. This is a marriage of convenience story that starts off with a dramatic collision between the two leads. Cassandra needs protection and Quinton Beckham, the new Earl of Rosemont, needs money and a caregiver for his two nieces left under his protection.

The story and the romance build up was good although a bit slow paced, even with Quinton continuing to work for the Crown, there wasn't a lot of action. It was a good read, but I wasn't wowed. I enjoyed Cassandra's meddling grandmother and Quinton's friend's Theo and Jack, so I will probably seek out their stories at some point.

Thank you to NetGalley for an ARC of this book. Thoughts and opinions are my own and freely given.

Could a Marriage of Convenience Turn into Love?

They were both hurrying in the rain when Quinn’s horse ran Cassie down and nearly killed her. Her grandmother would make him a proposition that would change their lives. She was a spinster who planned never to marry; he was an agent of the Crown whose life was often in peril. If they married, Cassie would have a husband who would protect her from those greedy relatives who would take advantage of her and steal her money. Quinn would get her dowery and would be able to save his estate. They agreed, but neither of them planned to fall in love. Did anyone ever plan such a thing, anyway? I enjoyed this story and would recommend it to those who like historical romance with a dash of suspense.

This is the first book of a wonderful new series, Men of Valor, and it is also my first experience reading something by this author. Quinten finds himself the new Earl of Rosemont after his brother tragically dies in a carriage accident. He not only has the Earldom to look after, but he is also now responsible for his two nieces. In addition to all of this, he needs to find a way to continue his undercover work. He meets Cassie when he is out riding and his horse strikes her when it is startled by lightning. He finds out she is the granddaughter of the Dowager Countess of Granville and helps her get home. He is later summoned by the Dowager who presents him with a proposal of marriage to her granddaughter. He hesitates thinking of his duty to the Crown. Cassie also does not immediately agree, but when reminded of her fate with her wastrel uncles after she no longer has the Dowager to protect her, she acquiesces. Love was not in the bargain, but as they grow closer, Quinten must make a choice between family or Crown. This was a sweet and gentle romance that was utterly captivating and I very much enjoyed it. I look forward to reading more of the series.

Colonel Quinten Beckham unexpectedly inherits the title, Earl of Rosemont, upon the death of his older brother. Not only does he get the estate, its large debts, he's also now guardian to his brother's two daughters and he knows nothing about being a parental figure.

Out in the rain on his horse, he runs into a young woman and takes her to a nearby house to learn she's the granddaughter of a dowager countess, Lady Cassandra Worth. Some days later, the countess proposes they wed to save Cassandra from being put under the guardianship of the countess's awful sons, as the older lady is dying.

I am such a fan of this trope and this one is well written! It is the first book in a new series and I look forward to reading more of them. My review is freely given in exchange for receiving a free copy of the book. I just reviewed A Love for All Time by Laura Landon. #ALoveforAllTime #NetGalley

Thank you NetGalley. Cassandra walks in front of Qinn's horse during a rainstorm. She is of the decision to never marry. He works for the government and though he has just become an earl and now has two nieces to raise, he does not want to make a change to his life. Cassie's grandmother has a proposition for the two of them. It helps each of them and hopefully they will learn to love each other. They each have a few proposals to make the marriage work for them. As they fall in love those change and in the end there is love and much more to think of than what seemed important in the beginning.

Colonel Quinton Beckham becomes the new Earl of Rosemont on the death of his brother and his wife. He also becomes Guardian to his brother's two daughters, 5 year old Lizzie and 5 month old Molly. Quinton also learns the estate is bankrupt due to his brother's gambling and his father's poor management. While Quinton is urged to marry for the girls sake, he hesitates as he has been a Spy for the Crown, and fully intends to continue to do so. Not a career to have with a wife and family, he thinks.
Coming home in a pouring rainstorm, Quinton hears a scream, and realizes he has run over a woman.
Taking her home to her house, her grandmother cares for her. When Quinton went back several days later to check on her, her grandmother made a surprising offer. She would pay off all his debts if he would marry her granddaughter, Cassie.
Laura Landon has written a wonderful story, and I look forward to reading the rest of the stories in the series.

A Love For All Time by Laura Landon is the beginning of a new series featuring Quinton Beckham, Earl of Rosemont who was a decorated war hero and currently working for Her Majesty's government in an undercover position. He has recently inherited the earldom when his brother died in a carriage accident, forcing his pregnant wife into early labor, during which she died. So, not only was he the new earl, he also had custody of two little girls: a five-year-old and a five -month old. Not only that but the earldom was bankrupt. His father had been a poor manager and his brother, a gambler. He'd had a bit too much to drink and was riding his horse back to the family townhouse in the middle of a blinding rainstorm. The nest thing her knew, he heard a piercing scream. He vaulted off his horse to discover he had run into a woman, and she appeared to be severely injured. After a person from a neighboring household identified her, he carried her to her own home, where her grandmother took over her care. Several days later he stopped in to see if she was well. Cassie, her name was. Her grandmother made a startling offer: she would pay all his debts if he would marry Cassie. She carefully outlined the benefits of such a match. He asked to think on it. Cassie had the same reply.

This turned into a sweet love story as well as the story of a woman's growth within her marriage. Quinn was a good husband, except when he left her to work. Then she missed him tremendously and worried incessantly. She discovered how uncertain it was when he told her he'd return in a few days and it was four weeks. They had a fabulous relationship . . . when he was there. She had just discovered she was pregnant when he left again. She hadn't told him . . . she didn't want to divide his focus. Cassie was stronger than she knew and Quinn was beyond in love with her. It was a very fun read with a happily-ever-after ending.

A Love for All Time – I loved this romance and literally did not want to put this down. Arranged marriages were common for the time period, thus making the dowager’s request/offer to Quinn of her granddaughter’s hand in marriage is believable. I loved that Cassie had requests of her own. And, heart-meltingly, Quinn finds that he actually likes Cassie and she, him. They are able to form a friendship before their physical relationship begins. I, also, appreciate the ‘clean’ aspect of this romance.

The honesty and openness between Quinn and Cassie definitely added to the romance. So, too did the hurt when Quinn would leave on a mission, and how much Cassie missed Quinn. The ending – fabulous!

I am looking forward to the romance of the handsome secondary character friends of Quinn’s, Theo and Jack.

I received a free copy of this from NetGalley and this is my freely given opinion.

This was the story of Quinten Beckham, the newly made Earl of Rosemont. He inherited an impoverished estate from his imprudent brother, who died in an accident. The distress of his passing caused Quinn's sister in law to go into sudden labour, and she dies birthing his niece. Quinn is not left with two orphaned nieces, a rundown estate, and massive debts that cannot be paid back in full, even if he sells all that that is unentailed. He is not willing to marry an heiress as he does potentially dangerous secret work for the Crown, with his two friends, that he is not willing to give up for a wife.

After a bout of drinking his ills away with his friends on a rainy night, he is riding his horse home when a terrible accident happens and he runs down a young lady. He carries her home to get her help and meets the Dowager Countess of Granville, grandmother to the young lady, Cassie. She is terribly injured. He checks up on her, to ensure she is healing, after not hearing from from her family, and the Dowager offers him a solution to his problems. She is dying and wants to make sure that her granddaughter is safe and cared for in the future, worrying that her two sons, Cassie's uncles, will not look after her, and may try to steal her inheritance for themselves, and her solution is to pay off Quinn's debts, if he will marry Cassie and ensure she is cared for in the future. Love is not part of the equation, safety and security are. He is agreeable so long as she agrees, and agrees to his terms, including his continuing to work for the Crown without objection or interference by her.

Cassie has been disappointed in love before, and is not looking to wed, but sees the logic of the arrangement, and she and Quinn end up marrying, living on his estate, caring for his nieces, and managing his estates. They grow to care for each other, are happy with how their lives and family are progressing, and eventually fall in love. But he continues his work, and she worries, and they wonder how they will manage.

This was a likeable story. It moved along well, there were likeable characters, and a believable story line, and the writing flowed well enough. But it was tepid. No real heat, angst, drama, humour, or other excitement to draw you in and add that edge of suspense or adventure. I have read other Laura Landon books and I have seen that there has been that spark in other stories - either a really sparkling character, or exciting angst or drama. But this was really rather bland and tepid. Not bad - but just not stand out. Generally a decent story - but even the parts that implied drama or suspense - the plotting uncles... the dying grandmother... the friend who got shot during the covert mission... they were all dealt with with no real drama.

So likeable, but tepid, and a bit bland. Did not hate it. Did not love it. It's like the cold glass of milk served with a warm batch of yummy fresh baked cookies. It's fine, and good, but not the part of the meal you will be remembering and likely talking about later. Or white rice - a good base, but always can be improved upon by the addition of other ingredients.

2.5 out of 5.

A Love for All Time is a great start to a new series. It does a great job of introducing the characters for the other books and getting you just interested enough to want to pick up the future entries for the series. I really liked Quinn and Cassie right from the beginning. Their "meet-cute" was more dramatic than most but made for a great story. I wasn't sure how I would feel about Cassie's grandmother setting up their marriage the way she did, but it was done so smoothly you can't imagine any other way for them to have met. I thought there would be another appearance by Cassie's awful uncles, but was kind of glad that there wasn't because that may have been a bit too much. The author does a great job of balancing Cassie's worries about Quinn's work for the crown with her need to support him. And the fact that she was able to overcome her fears to insist Quinn continue with his work was one of my favorite things about her. Cassie's delivery of her babies at the end was a little unnecessarily dramatic, but I forgive that because the subsequent scenes with Quinn worrying about not being able to tell them apart were pretty funny. Having Quinn give up his work in order to not miss important moments with his children (including his nieces) was a refreshing little twist - usually it's the women in romance novels who have to give up their careers in exchange for a family. Theo and Jack are great supporting characters in this novel and I'm sure I'll only come to like them even more when I get to read their stories. I can't wait to see what book 2 in the series has in store for us!

Colonel Quinten Beckham is soldier and an agent for the Crown. His is also the new Earl of Rosemont. The title brings with it an estate in bad shape, no money, and his two young nieces. He needs, but does not really want, a wife. He wants to continue his work for the Crown, but he must think about his nieces. Lady Cassandra Worth is a wealthy woman and heir to a greater fortune when her grandmother dies. Jilted once, she has no desire to marry. Riding through town, too fast, during a driving rain, Quinten’s horse knocks down a person he had not seen. Cassandra, rushing through the storm, didn’t see what hit her.
Lady Granville, Cassie’s grandmother, likes Quinten and believes he will be good for her granddaughter and protect her from the machinations of her uncles. She convinces the two of them to marry, a marriage of convenience with benefits for both and the stipulation that Quinten will continue his work for the Crown. The question is, as time goes by, will they be able to cope with the stipulations?

This is a great story, a bit of an emotional rollercoaster, a bit of excitement, a bit of fun, and a lovely romance. The characters are well done and draw you into the story, especially Quinten and Cassandra. They may not realize it at first, but they are a wonderful couple. Lizzie and Molly are cute as buttons. Cassie falls in love with them immediately. There are some troubling times along the way, but things tend to work out as they should. An enjoyable start to a new series with engaging characters and a happy ending. Quinten’s friends Theo and Jack are interesting. I look forward to their stories. Great Read!

A sweet journey to happy ever after in an unexpected way.

He is left with the guardianship of his brother's two young children and the estate, with the death of his brother. But also debts and responsibility that his job with the crown. It seemed everyone was urging him to marry.

She just happen to be at the wrong place at the right time! While he was out riding, his horse shies as the lightning strikes and he runs into her. He cannot immediately takes her home.

What happens next is a journey to finding happiness with a few curves and suspense along the way!

What a pleasurable reading adventure this has turned into. The characters are very relatable and filled with emotion to keep your interest. The Earl of Rosemont, Colonel Quinten Beckham, is very much a soldier to the depts of his soul. Serving his country is his top priority and he will do whatever it takes to continue his passion. Regardless of rank and military awards, he now needs to alter his path. His brother and sister-in-law have both died and left him with two small nieces to raise. However, that is the best part, he also received an estate deep in debt due to his brother’s habits. Lady Cassandra Worth was having a terrible time battling a horrific rainstorm and manages to run into the path of the Earl and his horse while crossing the street in front of her townhome. Hurt and lying-in street, the Earl delivers her to the home she shares with her grandmother. I appreciate reading this historical fiction and hope that Laura Landon will give us more to experience. It was a grand adventure.

This was a short read that probably could have been made even shorter just by cutting out repeated sentiments. On and on about Cassandra liking the sunshine. How many lilacs were in the church the day she was supposed to get married. How many wounded soldiers Quinn had to see suffer. Sometimes it happened on the same page. Sometimes, and even more bothersome, it would happen in the same dang paragraph. The worst when it was just back-to-back as though one couldn't understand the first sentence.

She was injured because of him. He was the cause of her injuries.

I almost expected another variation, like "He caused injury to her and, thus, she was injured."
At which point I might have stopped reading completely.

As it was, I wanted to go back to high school, swipe my English teacher's special editorial pen, and go crazy crossing things out. I received the ARC via NetGalley and was so certain it was just a pre-edit thing that I waited until I could also get the final version on Kindle Unlimited.

No difference. None. The difference that I sought was not there.
I found the almost constant repetition distracting to what may have been a great story.
A potentially great story frequently repeated things that became a distraction.

(Sorry. It seems to have invaded my brain somehow.)

This is my first book by this author so I am not sure if it’s just the way this book was written or if this is the authors usual style, but the story lacked emotion and there was absolutely no angst. On top of this the intimate scenes were very much fade to black and occurred off page which was disappointing but I can usually deal with it. However add a lack of emotion, no angst, no intimacy, no chemistry between the MCs and the story fell flat for me.

I appreciate the opportunity to review this story, Thank you to Dragonblade Publishing for the ARC.

This is a clean, sweet story that is very easy to read. There is not much descriptive text, but some good emotional scenes. I would have loved to had more conversations between Grandmother and her sons. The girls were adorable. I felt , however that something was missing, not a lot of depth, like the reader was just being allowed to skim the surface. But the storyline was good and very original, the camaraderie was good between the three men.
