This book reminded me of the film how to lose a guy in ten days. Frankie works for a magazine and decides to try out some meet cutes. She meets Max and realises maybe she is ready to meet someone the old fashioned way after all. Very romantic and perfect for a warm sunny day. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for letting me review this book.

This book was cute but it left something to be desired. I don't think the characters were fully fleshed out and I think it would benefit from being dual POV.

I received an arc through netgalley.

Portia MacIntosh can do no wrong!

Her books are the perfect balance of light and fluffy with jussssst enough depth to feel real, while getting lost in a fictional story!

Frankie...oh I adored her! This story felt real - like I was watching a girlfriend go through a crazy long weekend. I was here for all of the antics and mishaps and cannot wait for Portia's next story. Auto-buy/read author for sure!

I know that when I pick up a book by Portia MacIntosh that I’m going to like it. This is the 7th book of hers that I’ve read, and I have a couple more just sitting on my shelf that I know whenever I’m in a slump & need a new book that I know I’m going to enjoy, I can grab one of them. Her writing just works for me. Her character just works for me. And this book was no different. I adored both Max and Frankie. I’ve always enjoyed the focus on family in Portia’s books, and I thought it was really interesting that the love interests family was more so the focus in this book, versus the female main characters family.

My favourite part was probably Frankie’s article, because the romance lover in me just loved reading about all the tropes and ‘cliches’ that she mentioned. Personally, I didn’t love the ending. Or at least how things led to the ending. I read enough romance to know that there’s always the ‘third act breakup’ and I feel like it was kind of predictable what that was going to be here. Which is fine! I’m honestly fine with some predictability. My issues more so were with the length of time with it, and then I felt like it ended up a bit rushed at the end. But I always do love a good happy ending, and this one was really nice.

This hasn’t quite bumped Stuck On You out of its place as my favourite Portia MacIntosh book, but it definitely is right up there. I will absolutely be recommending it & cannot wait to pick up a physical copy of this book for my shelves for rereads. And of course I will continue to pick up anything and everything that she comes out with.

Thank you to Boldwood Books & NetGalley for the opportunity to read an advanced copy of this book!

Her books are light, funny, heart warming and always keep me smiling! I don’t know how she cones up with do many diverse ideas and manages to put out do many titles! I loved the meet cute aspect of this novel as I m a huge sucker fior love and meet cutes! I so was excited to see if our protagonist could have success setting up meet cutes throughout the novel! Great characters, great writing… truly a pleasure turning every page! Can’t wait for the next one. Thank you Boldwood you Rock

I enjoyed reading this book, it was a fun way to spend a spring weekend! I literally laughed out loud at the part with the dog. I did feel some of the storyline was a bit out of touch with reality but that is the fun of reading books, getting to escape! I enjoyed the characters of his family, other than his creepy uncle, and I felt like this book's ending tied things up nicely! Thank you for giving me the opportunity to read this!

What can I say - I absolutely loved this book. Frankie's initial meet cute escapades were really amusing and I was really pleased that once Frankie had Max to focus on, the escapades and entertainment continued - I thought it might become a classic boring romance at that point, but the story was not at all predictable and continued to amuse from beginning to end. The characters were zany, likeable and relatable, and the multiple romance tropes really worked with the theme of the book. There is nothing I didn't like about this book at all.

A cute, fun read which I highly recommend you checking out when it is released in May 2022. Many thanks to NetGallery and Boldwood Books for allowing me the opportunity to get an early copy of the book - so far, this is one of my 2022 favorites.

I received an ARC from Netgalley in return for an honest review.

This was a pleasant read, but a trifle long winded. Perfect for a hot day at the beach.

I loved the light-heartedness of this quick read. Portia is one of my favorite summertime, 'beach read,' authors for this reason...her books are relatable, witty with pockets of hilarity, and nearly always whisk me away to where I'd like to be (in this case, Hawaii). There's such a wide array of characters here, covering nearly every stereotype, and including one that I wish we'd see get her comeuppance. Overall, it's got a real How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days feeling to it, with a sweet resolution.

I read this book quickly I couldn't put it down. It was well written with an engaging and humorous plotline and well developed characters that were likeable and realatable - especially Frankie. I also really liked that she wasn't a supermodelesque protagonist because it felt more real to me who isnt supermodelesque at all 😁😁
It was a super cute anf fun read that is lighthearted and funny. I can't wait to reread it around a poolside or beach and I will defnitely be looking for more from the author.

3.5 stars, rounded to 4

I really enjoyed The Meet Cute Method!

Portia MacIntosh injected a lot of humour into the story, which is definitely one of the ways to my heart. She also scattered numerous pop culture references which is a personality trait of mine. PLUS, Max is described as looking like the ageless and gorgeous Paul Rudd 💕

The story was interesting and easy to follow, with nice short chapters. The characters were well thought out, along with the relationships that linked them all - this was important, as there were a lot of sub-characters.

Frankie felt relatable. I appreciate a story with a 30-something who isn't stick thin, is awkward and super witty.

I recommended you check out The Meet Cute Method when it's published - 4 May 2022

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you to Netgalley & Boldwood Books!

Journalist Frankie wants to write an article on dating “before apps” and whether or not “meet cutes” still happen. After several botched attempts, Frankie finally meets someone who interests her and just happens to work in the same building. Soon her workplace romance turns into something much more complicated.

The Meet Cute Method is a fun, sweet romcom. It covers several of the top romance tropes - workplace romance, opposites attract, and fake relationship.

The Meet Cute Method is a perfect read for those who are fans of Sally Thorne and Christian Lauren books. It would make a great vacation or beach read.

This was a cute, fun book! Gives me 27 Dresses meets How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days vibes. A great beach read, lighthearted and full of zany antics. Frankie is a great character. She is probably one of the most realistic characters I have seen in a while in a book. I can totally see myself acting and reacting as she does throughout the book. Max was fine, but I wish we got more insight into him. He seems almost secondary to Albi and all the other characters in his fam for the latter half of the book. Because of that the romance between him and Frankie feels a bit thin but the overarching story of the book is still entertaining. The only character I genuinely couldn't stand was Frankie's editor Addison. She's the mean boss stereotype to the extreme. I wish she had just a teeny tiny bit of redeeming quality in her. It's hard to give much commentary about the book without giving anything away but I really enjoyed it!

This is such a sweet romantic story. It's certainly a great beach read for the summer while your lounging by the pool or on breezy sandy beaches. It brings you back to that time of falling in love and when everything is sunshine and daisies. Highly recommend this witty, cute, funny, romantic read.
