3.5 stars I have been hit and miss with this series, which is a surprise because I loved the earlier ones so much.

As I read the first few pages, I kept double checking to make sure I was actually reading an Alex Cross book as it takes a while before Alex is introduced.

Once again, someone is targeting Alex and by extension his family.

While I did not hate this book, the plot felt like i had already read it several times with Alex Cross.

His family is always a big part of the story and here again it is. This was more entertaining when the kids were younger and Bree was not i the picture. I always feel as though Patterson does not know quite what to do with Bree.

The story itself is interesting and the "thriller" part was good, but this is hardly his best.
