Omg I loved this book. This series is what got me back into reading. I nearly cried from excitement getting access to read this book early. I love reading from the male pov and Hades is just something else. His love for Persephone knows no bounds as seen in this book. He would do literally anything for her. I did wanna smack him a few time in this book not gonna lie lol. The man needs to learn to communicate. Every time I read one of these books I’m left with wishing we had a novela with Hermes. He is literally the best side character ever. I am so sad I have to wait so long for the other books to come out. But I know they will be worth the wait!

Scarlett St Clair writes such compelling and thoughtful books. Her worlds are so complete and feel so real that it's easy to completely immerse yourself in them. I was fortunate enough to have asked before I read this series and am reading in the alternating order with the Touch books.

Retribution is Hades perspective and version of A Touch of Ruin. I am the first to skip or shy away from a "his perspective" series, but these add so much depth to the story and are truly another story line and plot.

Ruin is a story of grief and Hades side of things reflects his experience of that same grief, but also the many moving parts to what happens in the space between the stories. Without spoiling anything, its fast paced, but took me a long time to read. I didn't want to miss anything and needed to fully absorb all of the feelings in the book. It's complex and filled with twists and turns and is setting up this story line for so much more in the upcoming books. I can't wait to see where this goes.

I was given an ARC of this book by Scarlett and I’m so exited to be able to talk about it.
Scarlett is an amazing writer and this was just another testament to this.
AGOR is great. It’s a hard read much like ATOR because of the heavy content in it. I was emotional in the best ways.
Reading the Hades saga is really eye opening because I’d never realized all the things that were happening behind the scenes while Sephy was doing her things.
If you’ve read the Sephy books, you MUST read the hades books as well. Although they’re happening in tandem, the stories are different as their characters are doing different things to build up to the big conclusion.
I cannot wait to see what happens at the end of this series. It’s gonna be soo good. I’m finally seeing all these pieces got together.
READ IT!

I WAS SO FREAKING EXCITED TO GET THIS ONE!!!! Thank you Sourcebooks, Netgalley and Scarlett St Clair, I have been following this story from the beginning and I love the Hades POV. This was great perspective on what was going on in the background! Very much enjoyed it and can't wait for my preorder copy to arrive.

After countless recommendations from friends and patrons, I finally gave the Persephone x Hades series a shot and was shocked that I actually enjoyed them. So, it was a no-brainer that I should start Hades series as well. They're basically the first series but told from Hades's perspective with some added spice and background. I flew through A Game of Retribution and immediately ordered a few copies for the library. Our patrons will be lining up around the block waiting for this release.

Do you remember learning about the Greek Gods and Goddesses in school? These are not your average Gods and Goddesses... This author tells the story of Hades's and Persephone's relationship from Hades's point of view; with some steamy sex thrown in. Scarlett St. Clair brings Greek mythology to life!

I don’t know how she does it but St.Clair never ceases to amaze me. With each book I wonder, “how is she going to provide even more myth retellings?” And she tops it every time. One thing I appreciate about St. Clair is you can tell how much work she puts into getting the myths just right for a modern day retelling. I love her nods to the original myths, and I am never bored. Fans of the original series will no doubt enjoy the Hades saga. I love getting Hades perspective on a lot of things, and even some explanations. There were some moments in the original that had me questioning his choices, but this book clears it up. I also really enjoy getting to see Hades story as well. He’s going through things of his own, so it’s nice to learn a little more about him.

It’s a great book, and I can’t wait to reread it over and over again!

I love this series! Another great book by Scarlett St. Clair! I love Persephone and Hades, and reading more of their story! A must read!

I devoured this book in one sitting. I was a fan of Percy Jackson and the Olympians and the subsequent Rick Riordan works so it came as no surprise that I devour any Greek mythology retelling set before me... especially of the spicier variety. I really do like the approach that Scarlett St. Clair took to craft this story and the angles she goes about it in the face of so many retellings, especially that of Hades and Persephone. I will have to say that the miscommunication drove me up the wall, as it did in A Touch of Ruin, and knowing to expect it this time around didn't really help as I thought it would. The side characters of this book really made the book stand out to me as well. Super enjoyable and I can't wait for more installments in this series—especially through Hades' POV!! This is probably one of my new favorites in this series. Thank you to Bloom Books and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Yet another amazing book from Scarlett! I love reading these books from Hades POV, they are very different from Persephone’s. This book had be hooked from the beginning. And I cannot wait for the next book from Hades POV.

This side of the series and this book in particular are the epitome of “there are two sides to every story.” As we revisit situations we’ll remember from ATOR, specifically Hades absence and his and Persephone’s lack of communication, we finally get Hades perspective. You will be along for quite the ride. I found myself constantly going “oh”… in response to my previous question of… where were you Hades? Oh, indeed…

This series is so much more than an added POV to a story you already know. This is truly Hade’s story, just as ATOD is Persephone’s. Each with their own struggles and path. Their own wants and needs. Their own histories and hopes for the future.

Hades will forever be one of my favorite characters, and I always look forward to living inside his head for a little while.

“I would’ve chosen you a thousand times over, the Fates be damned.”

A Touch of Ruin from Hades POV & it was just what I needed. I missed Hades and loved experiencing a story I already loved so much through his lense, but with so much more. Scarlett pulls the curtain back and gives us insight to the inner workings of the broody enigma we love so dearly. I can’t get enough of Hades & Persephone and this one brings the HEAT and HEART.

Reading time: devoured in just under 4 hours! 🔥

Another book by Scarlett with a word building that does not disappoint. I love how much she delved into the greek mythology because we see so much of the characters!

I really enjoyed this book of Hades because his perspective made me understand him more and I love seeing his vulnerable side. It was interesting and fun to see what he was doing whenever he wasn’t with Persephone. In this book we see him struggle with his relationship with Persephone because of his insecurities and the fear of losing her. I love seeing him learn and adjust how to be in a genuine relationship, I love his willingness to compromise and change for Persephone.

As always, I love Scarlett’s side characters! The banter between Hades and Hermes was very entertaining and hilarious. I honestly love this bromance.

Now I can’t wait for the other books with Hades POV!!

I love Scarlett St. Clair and her Hades x Persephone books. A Game of Retribution is essentially A Touch of Ruin but from Hade's point of view. While I loved A Touch of Darkness (it was a 5 star book for me) A Touch of Ruin was was only ok from my perspective (it was a 3 star book). But both A Game of Fate and A Game of Retribution were 4 star books for me. I identify with Hades so much more than I do with Persephone and so reading the story (which I love) from his point of view has been fantastic. I do not normally connect with male protagonists but I see so much of my own personality in Hades that I can't help but relate to him. His need to protect his and Persephone's relationship, though flawed in execution, is so pure and I really feel for what he goes through. I can not wait for the rest of the series.

Let me start by caveating that I’m on Scarlett’s street team and would read anything she writes because I think she’s is awesome. Of the Hades & Persephone series - A Touch of Ruin wasn’t my favourite because of the constant miscommunication and issues they were having. Reading from Hades POV has changed my view about him a little. He’s definitely more human here and plagued with issues. He’s insecure, paranoid and very anxious in general. Also though he seems like the strong one, he’s actually whipped and borderline obsessed with Persephone. It is very intense and makes me see his character in a different light.

Hermes and Hecate are still on hand to offer light relief - I love the Daddy Death tagline and Hades confessing that Hermes is his actual bestie lol. Also the scene in the fight pit .... phwoar . I find violence very sexy and Hades unleashed is ... 🥵🥵. Someone give this woman a Netflix series already I can already visualise this scene. Having read Malice, I enjoyed seeing the threads of how that storyline developed. I also love seeing the behind the scenes machinations of the gods and the things Hades deals with when he’s not with Persephone.

All in a very enjoyable read that shows you a different perspective and fills in some of the gaps in the storyline between the books.
