I knew her books would improve and I was not wrong! I absolutely loved this one! A perfect holiday read. Merry and Clark were so great. I loved the single-dad trope - he loved his son so much! I loved the small town vibe, the family relationships and all the real emotions.

This is the 2nd in the Mistletoe Romance series. The 1st is Nick & Noel’s Christmas Playlist…I think it’s still my favorite so far.

I enjoyed There’s Something About Merry. There were lots of funny scenes and lots of PEENS. 😂🤣😂 Really…I think promo for this book should’ve been “Themed-Peens,” signed by Codi Hall. 😂🤣

I really enjoyed how Clark and Merry started talking in the beginning through the messages. It was fun and I loved that she caught on and how all of that sorta came to a head. I liked how Merry’s friends and family rallied around her to make sure she didn’t get hurt. J

That crazy dog kicker man with the chickens had me cracking up. He’s out for revenge y’all.

The only drawback I really had with this one was the pacing was a bit slow/awkward towards the end. I didn’t think the parade really added anything to the story and the book could’ve been shortened a little bit after the major plot points were worked out.

I adore the Winter family, I love how they care for their community and take care of those around them.

Overall, I really enjoyed this one and I’m hoping that the Mistletoe Romance series will continue next year.

This sweet Christmas story had me rooting for them from the very beginning. Clark is a single dad with an adorable precocious daughter. Merry has sworn off dating but she doesn’t mind some online flirting with her anonymous friend.
.
In a shocking twist of events if ends up being Clark that Merry is talking to and I was all about the two of them getting together! What a fun Christmas story!

Codi Hall has outdone herself with 'There's Something About Merry.' I thought her previous Christmas romance, 'Nick and Noel's Christmas Playlist' was fun, but nothing to write home about. This follow up in the same universe took all of the good from Nick and Noel and improved upon it.

Clark and Merry were perfectly awkward, and they actually had chemistry. I also adored Merry's growing relationship with Jace (and Jace's relationship with the entire Winters family). The Christmas vibes were incredible, between the tree farm and the festival of trees, It was cheesy and had some cliched, but that's exactly what you want when you pick up a book like this. I'd recommend this to any Hallmark Christmas movie fan.

4.5/5 - Spice: 2/5 - Book #2 of Mistletoe Romances

SINGLE DAD GRUMPY-SUNSHINE ROMANCE FOR THE WIN! Clark and Merry were so cute in this book! Love all of the quirky chaos between Clark's son, Merry's new puppy, and the Mistletoe families. Honestly the perfect kind of Christmas romance, with a dash of Christmas spice.

Brief Plot: Clark is the Foreman for the Winters Christmas tree farm, and Merry is the girl h had a crush on in high school and never figured he was good enough for. But as they both also seem to form an online friendship unknowingly, they get closer, and give each other a real chance at romance. But with both holding personal insecurities, they have to decide if they will 'break their rules and really try at a relationship together, especially taking in Clark's son's bond formed with Merry.

Thank you NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for an eARC copy of There's Something about Merry, written by Codi Hall. This is my honest review.

Absolutely adorable! This is everything i wanted out of a holiday romance and a little bit more. I haven't read many books about single parents, much less single fathers and while i know they're out there, I just haven't taken the time/effort to find them but this is perfect. I love that Clark and Jace's relationship is just so natural feeling as well as the relationships Merry has with her parents and siblings. I definitely need more of Codi Hall on my bookshelf and plan on going back to read Nick & Noel's Christmas Playlist as well as eagerly await Along Came Holly

Ok, this is the follow up to Nick and Noel’s Christmas Playlist (which I loved!) and it didn’t disappoint!

I read this on the beach and it was the perfect Holiday beach read. I will say, it’s not overly Christmas-y as some are (I appreciate this) but it is set in December on a tree farm, if that makes sense.

How did I read 2 tree farm books back to back 😂?

Merry (Nick’s sister) moved back to Mistletoe after a few failed relationships and is hoping to take over the family tree farm one day until her dad hire’s single dad Clark as his new foreman.

I love a single dad and cute kid trope and this one delivers. They get together early and there’s no big 3rd act breakup! It’s such a nice change of pace. It’s nice seeing them deal with relationship things instead of constant pining only to get together in the last few pages 😒.

The sex scenes felt a bit awkward to me, but I read an ARC so maybe it changed a bit? It’s open door, but the scenes are relatively short and don’t overwhelm the story.

Lots of groundwork for book 3! 😁

Thanks @netgalley and @sourcebookscasa for the arc! All opinions are my own. ❤️

If you want laugh out loud moments, lots of sweet moments, not a lot of angst, some steamy open door scenes, and LOTS of Christmas then this book is for you! I really enjoyed everything about this book and am looking forward to going back and reading Nick and Noel’s Christmas Playlist.

Overall, this was a cute read...who doesn't love a single dad romance and a Christmas tree farm. But this book also felt like two different books, it was slow paced and dragged on...the unnecessary drama with the baby mama near the end really ruined things for me. I also felt like we reached the ending many times but it kept on going.

Do recommend this book? not really, it was cute but there are better holiday romances out there this season.

Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC of another lovely holiday read! You can also pick this one up free on Audible - it’s included in your membership!

This is number 2 in a series, but can totally be read as a stand alone!

This book switches between main characters Merry and Clark. Merry is feeling down this Christmas - she just wants to find the right guy. It’s too bad that the one to catch her eye works for her at the family tree farm, and doesn’t want anything to do with her.

Clark isn’t really looking for romance but would love to find someone to cozy up to. Clark tries online dating and starts a conversation with someone, only to find out on the first date that it’s actually Merry!

🎄Cozy family tree farm romance? Sign me up!

These characters are so sweet and make the story fun to read. I’ve read a lot of holiday romance the past few weeks and this one stands out. I want a huge fan of Nick and Noels Christmas Playlist (the first book), but after reading this one, I might give it another shot!

I absolutely loved Nick and Noel’s Christmas Playlist, by Codi Hall, when I read it last year, so I was super excited to receive her new one. Thank you @sourcebookscasa for the #gifted copy of There’s Something About Merry! This book is available now.

There’s Something About Merry brings us back to Mistletoe, and tells Merry’s story (Nick’s sister). She returns home after a bad breakup and wants to learn from her dad to eventually take over the family Christmas tree farm. Her dad recently hired Clark, an old classmate of Merry’s, as the foreman, and Merry isn’t sure how she feels about that. As she gets to know Clark and his son Jace, she starts falling for him, and those feelings are reciprocated. Clark has some baggage to work through (who doesn’t), and Merry has to convince her dad she’s the right person to take over the farm one day.

I didn’t love this one as much as Nick and Noel, but it was still a fun holiday read. It has some steamy parts, so that was a plus! I’d still recommend putting this on your December tbr!

This is a sweet second chance romance set at a Christmas Tree Farm with a single Dad and the high school Queen who has been hurt before and is gorgeous.  But she's not what he thought and their initial standoffishness is overcome and they come to like eachother.

Though both had also started talking to someone on a dating app that they are totally vibing with.

Loved his son and the addition of the puppy, always helpful side characters. They do not know pretense and will tell all your secrets.

The side hustle turned business was hilarious and I would like to buy one of those. I'm scared to Google it.

I love pink and this cover is so cute and pulls you in. These characters along with Merry's family are great and this series is just going to grow.

Thank you sourcebookscasa and netgalley for the eARC for my honest and voluntary review.

Thank you to Sourcebooks Cascablanca and Netgalley for providing me with a digital ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is a late review but I started There’s Something About Merry when I first got it and I kept coming back to it and I have decided it is time to officially DNF as I can’t get into. I think it probably is a good book but I got 13% in and it still wasn’t connecting for me. I liked this author’s other book that was Christmas themed but I just haven’t been in a Christmas mood since.

I would say give this book a chance if you are looking for a holiday romance!

This was a cute story about Merry and Clarke. Clarke is a single dad that works on the Winter family’s land and Merry also lives on the land because she is a part of the Winter family. Merry and Clarke knew eachother in high school but go separate ways and are later reunited and get along well. Merry loves his son, Jace. It’s a cute story and we get to see Nick and Noel from Nick and Noel’s playlist too.

This was a very cute, second installment in the Mistletoe series.

This book follows after Nick and Noel's Christmas Playlist but you don't have to read that one to read this one.

I love reading about this family so much, they're always a lot of fun.

My only criticism would be that it felt unnecessary to add in the smutty scenes. They just didn't flow well with the sweet romance that was happening most of the book.

But overall this one was a win!

This book was a sweet and a little bit spicy follow up to Nick and Noel’s Christmas Playlist.

We have Merry, one of Nick’s sisters, as the female main character and Clark, a single dad hired to assist with the tree farm the family runs. Merry and Clark actually have somewhat of a history so this is kind of a second chance love story.

I really enjoyed this because 1. This entire family is just so sweet, funny, and supporting (the mom and dad are the best!) 2. The single dad aspect and his son were really heart warming to read about (and who doesn’t love a hottie who is also an amazing father?) 3. The tension and comedic relief. There is just enough sexual tension and spicy scenes to not make this overly smutty, and comedic relief to remind you not to take this book too seriously.

I rated this only at 3 stars only because there were opportunities to make this book really exciting, and it just ended up fizzling out multiple times.

All in all, if you love second chance romances, holiday reads, small towns, crafty female main characters, hot but emotionally damaged single fathers with the cutest/sweetest kid, Christmas trees, stories with online dating as a plot device, and low drama feel good books that don’t have a lot of confrontation; this is the book for you. I’ll definitely be back to read Codi Hall’s next book in this Mistletoe Romance series.

This one was 2.5⭐️ for me! It was a cute but predictable plot about the MC, Merry falling in love with the boy next door working for her parents Christmas tree farm, Clark. Merry was funny and awkward at times. Clark sounded cute and like a stable man. This novel falls in line with most other Christmas love stories. There were a lot of plots lines that didn’t really move the plot forward but were a Christmas event. I wasn’t really a fan of them and often times skipped through. The book was cheesy at times especially with 90% of the characters named something Christmas-y.

Overall, I’d recommend this for people that love cozy Christmas novels. If cheesy isn’t your thing, I’d leave this one on the shelf.

This was a perfect holiday read!!!! It had soo much Christmas talk and decor and events, that it made it feel so much more cozy. Loved the characters! Merry and Clark’s love story was perfect. I love this one more than the first, Nick & Noel’s story, but I adore the Winters family. Hoping to read more. Maybe a Holly & Sam, or a Victoria & the dad? Oooo I’d read them all!!!!

This was a cute holiday read, but the pacing seemed a little off. It started off pretty slowly, but then later on it seemed to move too quickly and almost rush through what should have been bigger moments.

I really liked Clark and Merry’s relationship and getting to know each other in person, but the online dating got a little tedious for me. Some of their email communications were really sweet, but they failed to meet a number of times and each time it should’ve been totally obvious to the characters who the person they were supposed to be meeting was.

I loved Merry’s interactions with Clark’s son, Jace, and how he played into their relationship. They had some really great moments with Merry’s family as well.

The ending seemed to happen in kind of a weird place. I loved the moment, but I felt like there were a few plot points that never quite got resolved. They were mentioned a few times, and then just dropped without any closure.

This was still a pretty good romance and the Christmas spirit was really strong in this book, so it was great to get in the mood for the holiday season. There are some fun winter/Christmas activities and they all have super festive names.

I wanted to like this one so much more than I did. I love the single parent trope in romance books and while I did like that aspect of the book, I felt like other aspects of the book weren't done as well. The romance felt a little rushed which I didn't love and I didn't really like the main characters separately or together. Overall I expected more but if you want a fun quick Christmas romance then you might enjoy this.
