I have not had this much fun reading a Christmas love story in forever. My goodness, Cody you have outdone yourself. The magic of your writing is unsurpassed.

Clark and Jace are adorable and Merry and her family are a dream!

Without a doubt a definite reread when December rolls around.

Didn’t love it, didn’t hate it! It could be not getting to read it in season so I might try it again! I enjoyed the simplicity and imagine this will be a huge hit around the holidays!

The first book in the series, Nick and Noel's Christmas Playlist, set up the town and Winter family so well. It was nice to just dive back into it all in There's Something About Merry. Both the town and family settings made the book feel cozy. The online dating for Merry and Clark was so fun. I was always looking forward to the next message. The dual POV made the time fly by reading this Hallmark worthy 2nd feature in the Mistletoe series!

I can't wait to hype this book up on publishing day! I know it will be a holiday season favorite.

I was so excited to receive this ARC! Thank you NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for my copy in exchange for my review.

A fun, very Christmas-y read. I liked the way the romance played out between Merry and Clark first over email, which helped explain why their relationship moved so fast once they got together. I think anyone who enjoys Hallmark movies or holiday romances will enjoy this.

A SLOW START IS SAVED BY LOVELY CHARACTERS

Yes, the beginning was rough. It was sooo slow and with so much info dumping. But the characters! They pulled through. If you like character-driven holiday romances with light plots, this one is for you.

👍 What I Liked 👍

Merry and Clark: These two were so cute together. They had so much adorable banter, and that's something that always really gets me going. Their connection was nice and developed throughout the story. It did feel a bit forced at times, but the banter definitely carried the chemistry on its shoulders.

Characters: There were a good bunch of adorable characters to love. My particular favourites were Nick (Clark's brother) and Jace (Clark's son). Jace brought a lot of cuteness to the story, while Nick brough sibling banter and humour, which is always a preference for me.

Hallmark: I'll gladly admit that when the holiday season is upon us, you will find me in front of the TV watching Hallmark holiday movies. This book felt like a Hallmark movie. It had some of the same tropes and the same spirit of Christmas fun.

👎 What I Disliked 👎

Beginning: The beginning was tedious. It felt very long. Hall decided to cram both Merry and Clark's entire background stories into the first couple of chapters. Completely out of context - just a complete info dump. It made the beginning difficult to say the least.

Plot: The plot wasn't actually bad. I just wish it had been followed through to the end. We have Merry and Clark dating one another online without actually knowing they are talking to the other person, whom they actually know in real life as they've gone to high school with one another. But halfway through the book, they figure it out and the plot is instantly dropped. It felt like a missed opportunity to actually do something fun with the premise.

E-mails: During the course of their online dating, Clark and Merry send e-mails to one another. These e-mails are printed in the book. Which would have been fine. If it was just every now and then. But when an entire chapter was NOTHING BUT E-MAILS... I got annoyed. It killed the vibe for me.

Typos: Yes, I know that this was an arc and that some of the typos might just get fixed before publication. But it is also an arc of a re-release so in my book, the typos shouldn't even be there. Or there should at least be a lot less. But there were so many that they actually annoyed me quite a bit. Words spelled wrong, sentences missing words, sentences that were clearly changed halfway through but not fixed. Too many.

Holiday names: Merry. Nick. Noel. I am just not on board with the holiday names 😅

A holiday romance giving readers a little bit of everything. From the little town of Mistletoe one can't help but get excited for the holidays with characters like Merry, Holly, Noel, and Nick. We all want to meet our fairytale partner and Merry most definitely finds hers, and an elf to go along with it.

Falling in love through messages with Christmas trees!

Merry Winters had decided to finally end her year of being single after coming home to Mistletoe, Idaho to help her parents with the family Christmas tree farm after all of her terrible relationships. Merry wanted a date even if was with some help from online dating connecting with Woodsman27.

Single father Clark Griffin and foreman of the Winters’ Christmas Tree Farm had no problems using the computer to find a date since there wasn’t many single women in Mistletoe, Idaho. Connecting with Knottygirl25 was a surprise because they had the same interests and started to connect by sending messages to each other.

You will love There's Something About Merry because it has Christmas (for the win!) and falling in love through their messages through the dating app.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I love a holiday romcom! The chemistry, the laughs, and the big fall, all amid the magic of the holidays, who can resist that? If you are looking for the must read holiday romcoms of the year, add There's Something About Merry to your tbr list!

Merry Winters returned to her family's Christmas tree farm last year after another bad relationship. After the crooks, cheaters, and liars she's dated, she doubts her ability to choose a good man, and has taken a year hiatus off dating. Merry wants to learn to run the farm with the goal of taking over after her father retires. The roadblock to her plan is Clark Griffin, hot single dad and new foreman at the farm.

Clark has sworn off dating since his ex-girlfriend left him with newborn Jace 7 years ago. His focus is on creating a loving and stable family life for himself and his son. After Jace questions why he never dates and seems to have a desire for a traditional family, Clark admits to himself that he wants something more than work and his son in his life.

Through an online dating app, Merry and Clark anonymously begin getting to know each other, while at the same time, the attraction is brewing in person. But what happens when Clark bungles the in person meet, crushing Merry's heart?

This small town, neighbors to lovers, found family romcom has all the feels! I was laughing out loud at the scenes with the voodoo peen and the antics of Daisy, Merry's puppy. Jace is just the sweetest 7 year-old and it melted my heart seeing the bond with him and Merry grow. I loved seeing the respect and support for each other's goals between Clark and Merry. Their chemistry will keep the winter chill away too!

The Winter's family is one you wish you were part of; supportive, welcoming, loyal, and appreciates a laugh! I can't wait to read Holly's story when it comes out!

Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the ebook arc in return for my honest review.

Adorable! This is one of the cutest Christmas books I’ve read! I really liked the whole story. It felt as if I was in a Hallmark movie, well a PG-13 one. The MCs were great and I adored the relationship everyone had with the son, Jace. All the characters were loving and fun to read about. This book has everything a Christmas book needs. It’s festive, funny and heartwarming! I can definitely see this being a bit hit this year!!

This review will be posted on Goodreads and my Instagram account next week in time for pub day! Additionally, I’ll be talking about this one all season long!!

Overall this was absolutely adorable, but the first half had a very different vibe than the second half. I struggled a bit with meshing the two.

Merry Winters has hopes of taking over the family Christmas tree farm in Mistletoe, Idaho. But in her way appears Clark Griffin—woodsman, single dad, and newly hired foreman. And unbeknownst to them, the two form an online connection via a dating app. Both burned in the past by relationships, I adored their back-and-forth messages with sparks flying simultaneously in real life.

The second half definitely took a more dramatic turn in plot while also amping up the steam. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that on its own, but like I mentioned before, the transition felt sudden.

With that said, I really enjoyed the sprinkles of Christmas festivities. The secondary characters were perfectly developed and added a lot of fun to the story. The humour was great, too (voodoo doll penises, that's all I will say). If you're looking for a steamy holiday romance, give this a try!

This was so cute!!! Merry and Clark are adorable and I loved seeing their relationship grow. This is just a fun christmas romcom and I had a great time.

I received an arc through netgalley.

As a Christmas lover myself, I didn't think I'd ever say these words....b there was TOO MUCH Christmas in this book. From the characters first AND !act names, to food names, store names, etc. You name it, its Christmas themed. It was just too much and totally took away from. What may have been a good book. I enjoyed the interactions between Merry, the mmc and his son the best, but unfortunately that wasn't enough to over ride the Christmas fringe for me.

Such a cute read. I really liked the characters and the banter between them, the whole family was just amazing. What bothered me while reading this book was the pacing, it was weird and the dialogue sometimes it was kinda awkward.
But other than that the book was amazing and perfect for people who love hallmark movies, it was sweet and light and an amazing holiday book.

When Merry's family hires Clark to work at their Christmas tree farm, they help to create a new family for Clark and his son Jace. Oh, and it's a second chance romance for Merry and Clark. There aren't many surprises in this sweet novel but sometimes that's just what you need. Thanks to netgalley for the ARC. Would make a cute. movie.

This was fun and festive. I really enjoyed the setting and season of the story.

However, the pacing is a bit weird for me as the development of the relationship seemed slow and fast at the same time (glacial pace, to quote Merry, but then they caught deeper feelings so fast).

Maybe it's just me but I didn't get too attached to the characters, like we could have known them a bit more.

Let me just say that I was surprised to find out this wasn't written by a man. As someone who loves cheesy Christmas romance novels, I expected to love this. There wasn't really a cohesive plot and the pacing of the romance was often confusing. The Christmas tree farm background was by far my favorite part but definitely not a part of the plot enough for it to save this book for me.

Lovely book, thx netgalley!

I started reading this book and didn’t realize it was #2 of the Mistletoe Romance series. I didn’t read the first book, but I really enjoyed this one! This book gave me all the feels, it was super cute. I loved the two MC’s, Merry and Clark. I suggest going in blind, I just read the synopsis and it gives it all away. Let’s just say, Merry doesn’t have the best of luck in the boyfriend department and Clark is a single dad who works for her families Christmas Tree Farm. Loved the small town feel and how family doesn’t have to be something your born into😍

Highly recommend this book! It made me laugh out loud, smile and tear up.

Merry Winters is one of the most relatable characters I've ever read about, and Clark, ugh, I just want to hug him. It felt like a Hallmark movie in my hands. I really really enjoyed it.
Merry and Clark have a second chance at love but first, they have to learn how to communicate with one another and overcome their insecurities and past.
I loved it.
Clark is a single dad, Merry is healing from a terrible relationship, and it takes place in Mistletoe, Idaho on a Christmas Tree farm. Hand me the hot cocoa now, please...
It's one of my favorite holiday rom-coms, so if you enjoyed In A Holidaze by Christina Lauren, I think you'll enjoy this book, too. Also, there's some spice in this one, but it's later on in the book - the language during sex scenes is definitely rated R, so reader be advised. Overall, such a fabulous, light, happy read that will put you in the holiday spirit.

Thank you to Netgalley and SOURCEBOOKS Casablanca for my eArc in exchange for an honest review.

The release date is September 6, 2022!
