Thank you to NetGalley for the arc. This review is wholly my own.

What a cute holiday rom-com (my fave!) Definitely put this one on your list if you like to read holiday themed books during the actual holiday it relates to.

Slow start to the book, but it picked up nicely. The pacing was a little odd at times, but it was something I could easily look past.

Merry & Clark are so darn loveable and make the cutest match. I love the back & forth banter between the two of them.

I really enjoyed this book! It gives all the hallmark Christmas original vibes with a touch of spice! The main character's name is Merry and her family has a literal Christmas tree farm and her love interest is a single father woodsman...so yeah, if you love these sorts of movies or shows, this book is for you. Also, while I've not seen You've Got Mail, but based on the things I know about the film, this novel has a similar storyline, so if that happens to be one of your favorite movies, you should also give this book a read.

I love the atmosphere that Hall has set within the novel, and the characters are great too, but I find my issue is with pacing. One moment drags on, while another scene develops rapidly. But overall, I think this is definitely worth the read to get into the Christmas spirit!

This may have been one of the cutest Christmas/Holiday books that I've recently read!

Merry loves the Christmas season but is woefully single. Her family owns a Christmas Tree Farm and she's desperate for her father to teach her the business ways. Clark is a foreman hired by her father to help out at the Christmas tree farm. He's a single dad & a grump. He loves his son but protects his heart & his family. They have both interactions while on the farm & off as they unknowingly match on a dating app.

What I loved: This is the first rom-com where the main characters actually communicated! This made my "hater of miscommunication trope" heart super happy. I love the characters and how memorable they were.

Overall, a great read & super cute book. I did deduct a star because it was a little too corny for my tastes at times.

Codi Hall.... you did it again! Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for this ARC for my honest review.

I received a complimentary copy from Sourcebooks and all opinions expressed are entirely my own.

This is my first book by Codi Hall and so I did not know what to expect from this book. The first half of the book was definitely a slow burn. This book is perfect for enemies to lovers readers and Christmas fans .

The book follows Merry whose goal is to take over the family Christmas tree farm in Idaho. There is only one glitch in her plan in the form of swoon worthy single dad and foreman. They cannot stand each other but in true you've got mail vibes they have a connection on a dating app. If you love family drama, Christmas festivities and you've got mail then this book is for you.

Quick & Dirty
-open door 🌶🌶🌶
-lovable characters
-will they/won't they
-forced proximity

Merry Winters has been back on the family Christmas tree farm for nearly a year when quiet, handsome single dad, Clark, joins the staff. Sparks don't immediately fly though. These two have a past together, as well as piles of baggage they've each collected in the years since they first met. In an effort to distract herself and find some much-needed company, Merry joins a dating app. But, as fate would have it, she's not the only one.

I'll be honest, I didn't finish the first book in this series last year, so I wasn't sure what to expect with this one. It wasn't that I didn't like Nick and Noel's Christmas Playlist, I think I just burned out on Christmas reads by the time I picked it up. There's Something About Merry picks up right where book 1 left off. The main cast of characters is back, but you don't need to read book 1 to relate to them. The author does a great job re-introducing the cast without adding fluff, which I appreciate. Small-town charm and Christmas joy leap off the page in this one, but it's somehow not sappy. Probably because of all the steam! I'm not typically a fan of steamy/smutty books, but this one worked for me. Overall, this was the perfect palate cleanser after some heavier historical fiction books. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves spicy romances or who enjoyed Nick & Noel's Christmas Playlist.

I struggled a bit with this book. It felt like it threw a bunch of romance tropes in, and didn't really know how to fully execute them. I also struggled with the first book, Nick and Noel's Christmas Playlist, but for different reasons. I didn't connect with the characters in that book. I enjoyed the characters much more in this book.

I still cannot get over the names in these books. We've got the town of Mistletoe, Chris, Nick, Noel, Merry, Holly, and now a character named Clark whose favorite Christmas movie is Christmas Vacation. Overall I liked the story, but it did feel like different books in the first and second half, it was a bit long, and then the 2nd half felt rushed.

I laughed at Merry's side business of making penis plushes, and I definitely related to moments where Jace gets sick. This book, like the first one, has several typos, and hopefully this time around they will be fixed before the final book is printed.

This is a good holiday fluff book, but I'm afraid there are better ones out there.

Thank you Netgalley for an early copy in exchange for an honest review.

I know it may be a little early to get into the holiday spirit but this sequel by Codi Hall had me for sure thinking about all my favourite holiday reads.

It was only fitting to read this as I read the author’s book Nick and Noel’s Christmas playlist last year which I just absolutely adored. I will say that the book is written in a way that you don’t have to read the first book but if you love all the holiday romance I would recommend reading both books.

I feel the best thing about holiday reads is that they are just magical and filled with Christmas cookies and all the best family traditions.

The book had love (and all the butterflies and overthinking), family (and all the good and bad they bring), it had adventure, finding one self and some reminders of one’s past.

Merry and Clark really take you on an adventure as they both figure out what is going to happen for them next. Merry is coming out of what seems like another crappy relationship. Whereas Clark, being a single father has already welcomed a number of challenges before he joined the Winters family business.

Thanks to @netgalley and @sourcebookscasa for an advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.

I give this book a 4 ⭐️ I feel like I am having a hard time rating books because I have read so many books that check all my romance must haves.

Go purchase this book today and add it to your holiday to be read list or wish list.

Because before you know it the holiday season will be here which I will say I rather read holiday books all year round to avoid the snow.

Are you a big holiday reader? What is your favourite holiday book or movie?

I think one of the best things about this book was that there was no third act break up. It was cute, like naughty Hallmark movie. Single dad, Girl burned out on love, Christmas Tree farm, Absolutely amazingly amazing family. This made it very predictable but still a good story.

There's Something About Merry by Codi Hall made me want Christmas now! It has Hallmark movie written all over it! The small town feel with single dad Clark and a girl named Merry. I didn't want this to end as I love the character banter and all the warm, steamy, cozy holiday feels. This will probably be re-read before Christmas as it was just that great! Love this author and looking forward to more!

Book Review
Theres Something About Merry
By Codi Hall

A Feel good holiday romance, definitely a contender for a Hallmark movie 🍿
Complete with a Small town trope, a Christmas tree farm, a meddling family of Winters, a “lumberjack” type tree farmer and a girl named Merry.

I truly enjoyed the banter and family dynamics in this read. Codi gets it- the awkward conversations, the steamy tense moments when you are trying to hide your feelings, the pressure of dating when you are a single parent- and then delivers it seamlessly between her pages.

A happily ever after is always the best Christmas present 🎁

So I quite liked this. There you've got mail element of the plot was over quicker than I expected and then got completely dropped but the characters and setting were nice, even if the pace was a bit slow. Wouldn't say no to reading another from this author, but wouldn't necessarily hunt one out.

An absolutely adorable Christmas read to set off the holiday season! Merry Winters does it all. She works at the local elementary school, she helps out at her family's Christmas tree farm, and she's in charge of this year's holiday extravaganza. The only thing she's missing is a man to share it with. Deciding to hop onto an online dating platform, she has no idea what's she in for. Woodsman27 seems to be the perfect guy, but, is he? Her quirky side business, spunky family, and her fabulous group of friends make this a super quick read that definitely puts you in the mood for the holidays.

Thank you to NetGalley, Sourcebooks Casablanca, and Codi Hall for this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

3.5 stars. The beginning of this book dragged. In the second half, it was like I was reading a whole different book when it came to the pace. I also felt like it could have been shorter. There were a lot of details that weren't needed. But with that said, I liked Merry and Clark, Jace is adorable. I liked their relationship. I liked the banter. I really loved the dual POV.

I liked this one! Codi Hall knows how to capture the small-town living, it's authentic, and so dang relatable. Reading this book and I remember when reading Nick and Noel, I could picture everything that's happening in her books, happening in my old town, ESPECIALLY, being at the one popular bar and seeing people from high school - I love how she gets it. I really like this book's storyline, but my favorite part was the journey of them getting together. Once they got together, it was fine, and a HEA, but I don't think I enjoyed it as much as them getting there. Loved Jace, and how sweet he was and I liked their little family!

This is a sweet and breezy read that will have you singing Christmas carols.

This is a classic hallmark story with a bit more steam! The second in the Winter’s siblings Christmas romance series, the first was Nick and Noel’s Christmas Playlist but this can still be enjoyed without reading the first one. Nick and Noel become secondary characters in Merry’s story.

This story follows Merry and Clark, who knew each other back in highschool. They both went away for college and have since returned with failed relationships under their belts. Merry has moved back home to her parent’s Christmas tree farm where Clark has been hired on as the new foreman. While Merry is charmed by his young son, Jace, she’s not sure she wants to work on melting Clark’s icy exterior.

Clark had a mad crush on Merry back in high school but thought she was too popular for him and a little flakey. While they dance around each other in person (the book is told in alternating chapters from their perspectives), little do they know that they are actually talking to each other online with a dating app. When they finally connect in real life the fun really starts. Clark has built up walls around his heart that he struggles to take down. While Merry, at only 25, has had a string of failed romances. Is she ready for a package deal of Clark and his son? Their chemistry is palpable, but at the heart of the story is the themes of trust and forgiveness.

Clark and Merry are very sweet together. Merry seems so pure and beloved she’s almost like a freaking Disney princess. She has a spine though, which saves her from feeling stereotypical. Clark is a lovely cinnamon roll of a man. I’m really glad we got to see her point of view in the book – it helped flesh out his emotions and character. I think he would have felt flat if we didn’t get to see his motivation. For the most part Merry and Clark’s blossoming love affair is sweet and slow. It’s almost a little like a treacle at times, but there are some surprising steamy scenes that did catch me off guard in the story – hello road head! I actually liked it because it made the relationship feel more human with heat and passion, and a little less like a squeaky clean made for TV Christmas movie. Clark and Merry have real world problems and concerns about the impact of their relationship on the people around them. Clark works for Merry’s fabulous dad. Clark has a young son who gets really attached to Merry. Merry is still trying to figure out what she wants to do with her life. As they join forces and their relationship develops you really see the two of them support and encourage each other.

While Clark and Merry are the stars of the show, there is an incredible cast of secondary characters from loveable dogs to eccentric small town residents. But Merry’s family really stands out as a strong and stable dynamic that leapt from the pages. Merry’s mom, Victoria, reminded me of my own mom: loyal to her family, hardworking, but always down for a glass of wine and a good laugh. And I would happily hang out with her father, Chris. He loves his family so much but also wants them to grow on their own. Merry has two tight siblings whom she loves a lot: they don’t put her up on a pedestal but they are there to support her and stand up for her. And finally, even though Clark didn’t have the most loving parents growing up and is now estranged from them, he has an older brother Sam. Sam returns to live with Clark part way through the book and is the motorcycle tattoo-artist bad boy that a lot of girls dream of. He was the perfect foil to Clark’s goodness, but it was also clear that they love each other a lot.

All in all this is a delightful Christmas book that features hand crocheted penises, a Christmas festival and some rogue hens.

This book was really cute and I loved it. I feel in love with the characters pretty quickly. It was definitely a cute Christmas book.

Clark is a single dad working on a Christmas tree farm in Mistletoe, Idaho. Merry's family owns and operates the Christmas tree farm. She's had bad luck with men. In between all of her volunteering and jobs she befriends Clark. While chatting with someone on a dating app.

The book has you've got mail vibes and is a perfect Christmas romance. I laughed out loud many times. I loved Merry's family and I'm really wanting to go back and read the first in the series. There's some definite spice in this romance.

This is a good book. The two main characters are Merry and Clark. They known each other all their lives and had a high school crush. Merry comes home after college and wants to help on the tree farm. Clark used to work there in high school, he is now the foreman. There is an instant attraction. They have some issues to work out and fall in love.

This book was a really enjoyable read, I blew through it. I liked the characters, there was a good amount of steam, and it really brought the holiday vibes. My main issue is that there was no conflict. This was just a nice normal story of two people falling in love, which is great, but there wasn't any tension or suspense and I felt that was lacking.

This is a cute holiday romance with the usual tropes of boy and girl reuniting, miscommunications, reconciliation, and then the HEA.

I thought that the story seemed really long for what it was, and I just realized it was over 400 pages. The story could have been trimmed back at least 75 pages and still be a cute fluffy romance.

I did enjoy the parts where Merry and Clark communicated via a dating app before they knew it was each other. I liked that they got to know one another before meeting in person. Of course, they already knew each other; they just didn't know it.

Some parts were predictable, but I also appreciated Clark's vulnerabilities regarding romance and relationships. I loved that he stepped up when Jace's mother disappeared from the hospital. He made Jace his number one priority and raised him the best way that he could.

I liked that it was told from both Merry and Clark's voices. We saw how each felt in different situations.

There are some slightly more explicit sex scenes that I wasn't expecting. I don't know why, but I thought it would be a bit lighter.

This is the second in a series, but you don't need to read the first book to enjoy this one.

We give this 3 paws up. It is an enjoyable book with some interesting characters and a couple of dogs.
