This book was so dang cute and sweet!!! I adored every second of this book. I keep underestimating my love for single parents romances because Clark and his son Jace completely stole my heart!!!

Merry and Clark had this great connection and chemistry and it was so dang cute! While they definitely had some communication issues at the beginning, their relationship grew to be so sweet and perfect for each other along with Jace. I freaking ADORED that kid so much!!!

The family aspects of this story were so incredible. Merry’s family taking in Clark and Jace as part of their own family seriously melted my heart. Reading it from Clark’s POV truly broke my heart and at the same time healed it. I most definitely cried during some parts where Merry’s family were treating Clark and Jace like their own without any hesitation and like it was the most natural thing in the world. I loved it so much!

Overall this book had amazing Christmas vibes, was a sweet story about family, healing, and falling in love and I absolutely recommend it!

Mistletoe, Idaho – Present Day

Mistletoe is a small community and finding a good man (or woman) to date is hard. Merry Winters has had her share of bad dates, so it is with trepidation that she signs up for a dating app. A match is made, and though the two haven’t yet scheduled a date, they continue texting (anonymously) back and forth. With each text message, the more Merry is attracted to her guy. Meanwhile, Merry is dealing with her next-door neighbor on the Christmas tree farm where she works and lives. Clark is a single father of an adorable boy. But Clark is a dweeb who barely says two words to Merry. Yet, despite her opinion of him, she’s secretly attracted to the hardworking nerd.

When Clark started college, he didn’t expect to be a single father within two years. His son’s mother walked out when Jace was an infant. Needing a job that would allow him to raise his son in a good environment, Clark returned to Mistletoe and got hired by Merry’s father, Chris Winters, who runs a Christmas tree farm. Meanwhile, he watches Merry go from guy to guy. Clark is so different from Merry. He’s quiet and thoughtful, while she is outgoing and blurts out whatever she’s thinking. Months ago, he signed up on a dating app, but never got a hit—until now. Neither Clark nor Merry realizes they just matched up on the dating site and are texting each other.

THERE’S SOMETHING ABOUT MERRY is a somewhat predictable tale that features two people who know each other but don’t consider the other a potential date. Merry and Clark have known each other for years but never connected because of their different personalities. He was the town nerd who went on to college, while Merry is outgoing and artistic. After one too many bad dates, Merry decides to try out the dating app—and hits on a guy who seems perfect for her. They banter back and forth and even agree to meet in a local bar a couple of times. But each time that they are about to meet, something happens. Readers will wonder how both will react when they finally do meet.

Merry comes from an entertaining and somewhat eccentric family. Her mother is a lot like her daughter in that she just blurts out whatever she’s thinking. Her brother is about to get engaged to the woman of his dreams. Her sister likes to give Merry a bad time. Meanwhile, Merry continues to work hard at the Christmas tree farm and hopes that her dad will consider letting her run it after he retires. But so far, he seems to think Merry’s brother, Nick, will be the heir. While THERE’S SOMETHING ABOUT MERRY opens on the day after Halloween, Christmas is mostly seen in the background. The main plot centers on Clark and Merry—and their discovery of how they matched up on a dating app. Once it’s out in the open, will they see how it works out?

Plenty of humorous scenes and sexy banter fill the pages of THERE’S SOMETHING ABOUT MERRY. Will Merry and Clark find happiness together? Discover the answer by grabbing a copy today.

There’s something about the holiday season that just makes me incredibly happy: the music, the decorations, the love, the togetherness, the cheer. Everything. And this book right here, gave me all of that.

(Swipe for synopsis)

I wanted to hug this one when I was done because of how sweet it was. It was like Hallmark with a little spice & some pretty funny moments. I loved the first book in this series (Nick & Noel’s Christmas Playlist), so I knew I would love this one too. I really enjoyed Clark’s character development throughout this one, not to mention he was swoon-worthy. And Jace. I just wanted to squeeze him with how adorable & pure he was. If you’re looking for the perfect holiday read, this is definitely it!

A HUGE thank you to Netgalley, Sourcebooks, & Codi Hall for this e-arc. 4.5 stars

I liked this one! It was a little fall/winter holidays-centered because it starts before Thanksgiving and ends at Christmas. The puppy was hard to picture as a puppy given her breed, but she sounded adorable. It takes a while to roll into the steam in this book, but it gets there.

Oh my heart! There's Something About Merry is super cute and sweet and so swoony. I can not help myself grinning ear to ear while listening to the audiobook.
Enemies to lover romance is the theme here, blend it little with dating app, holiday theme and one big family of love. The banter is cute. Merry is a type of heroine that I love to have on my romance story. And Clark, he is simple big giant teddy. I love over the top Christmas reads and found this to be a super fun one!

Thank you to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

Christmas romance, neighbors, online dating, returning to hometown, single parent, small town, care taking! Whats not to love! This was a great follow up to the Nick and Noels Christmas Playlist. I loved the innocently mistaken/hidden identity aspect that came from online dating, and the adorable relationship the characters have with the young child. This had me laughing out loud, smiling, feeling cozy and ready for Christmas.

I thought this book was so precious. I finished it in a few hours because I couldn’t put it down! I loved Merry and Clark’s characters. This had so many good tropes— single dad, opposites attract, friends-ish to lovers. And Jace! Ugh, he was so sweet. The whole family dynamic reminded me so much of my own family. And since the holidays are my favorite time of year, I was so glad to see the WHOLE book was based during the holidays. I get frustrated with those Christmas books that only have a couple chapters based on Christmas. That’s not Christmas vibes! But this one was perrrfect!

First and foremost, I want to thank the publisher for a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

Reading this book in September, I was a little skeptical about if I would like it because it was a Christmas romance; with that being said... I loved it so much. It was AMAZING. I loved the characters, the plot, everything! Clark is... the hot lumberjack that I didn't know I needed. I wish there was so much more of Clark, Merry, and Jace!

Read this if you like... Christmas, single dads, close families, found family, messages in books, Supernatural references, small town romances, and crafty characters!

Merry Winters is home. She has sworn off men and throwing herself into helping the elementary school and her family Christmas tree farm. She also has a penchant for knitting things. Clark Griffin is back working as a foreman on the farm with his son Jace. Clark is fighting childhood memories and making his son's life better than his was. It seems the Merry and Clark have been just missing each other but now they are in the right time and place, Will Clark get out of his head long enough to realize the perfect person for him is right before his eyes.

Well, I loved this book so freakin’ much!

I am a Christmas fanatic anyways BUT this book was so much more than a Christmas book. It was a rom-com full of sugar cookies, spice, hot nerdy men who look woodworking, hilarious side characters, and great pop culture references. I laughed out loud. I melted inside. I even cried once (it was a good cry though not a Colleen Hoover type cry.)

This book is the type of book that makes you wanna put your Christmas decorations up on September 1st and scream Fa La La La La at the top of your lungs in aisle 3 is the grocery store.

If you want a feel good rom-com, this one is the one!

I loved Nick and Noel’s ultimate Christmas playlist so I had to dive into this next book! Set in the same town and with the Winters family, this book revolves around Merry, Nick’s sister.

I loved Merry and Clark even more thank I loved book one! This was so cute and provided a little more spice than book one! Such a great read and I would highly suggest it!

Despite the cover, this is NOT a rom com. It’s a slow-paced, Hallmark-style small town holiday romance. The mood is actually a little sad. Not for me. DNF.

Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC I received. This is my honest and voluntary review.

This was the perfect Hallmark Christmas story but make it a little spicy! Merry is working on her parents Christmas tree farm she desperately wants to take over when her parents hire a new foreman making Merry think her parents don’t trust her to take over. Single dad, Clark Griffin is the new foreman on the Winters Christmas tree farm, he’d worked there previously in his youth where both Clark and Merry had simultaneous crushes on each other without the other ever knowing.

The plot is very similar to Youve got mail, where they’re simultaneously communicating via a dating app unbeknownst to each other while starting to fall for each other in real life whether they want to admit it or not.

This is a really sweet love story and a beautiful found family story for Clark and his son, Jace. This had all the elements you could possibly desire of a Christmas romance.

Merry Winters has come home to her family’s Idaho Christmas tree farm after several failed relationships. Clark Griffin has also come back home with his seven year old son and is working as the foreman at the Winter’s Christmas tree farm. Both Merry and Clark had crushes on each other back in high school, but never acted upon them. Will this be their second chance? This book had a lot of elements I like in a romance, small town, big family, single dad, and a holiday setting. With all of those elements, you would think I would love it, but something just didn’t do it for me. I kept starting this, and kept putting it down because it didn’t hold my interest. It wasn’t bad, just not great. Overall, an okay read, but I won’t be anxiously awaiting the next book in the series. I received an arc of this book from NetGalley for my honest opinion.

I received an ARC from the publisher via NetGalley and am voluntarily posting a review. All opinions are my own.
There’s Something About Merry is a pretty cute holiday romcom. It’s the first I’ve read from Codi Hall, and I’m not opposed to reading more from her in the future. It should be noted that while this is the physical/ebook version of what was previously an Audible Original title, I didn’t feel I lost out on much by reading vs. listening…something you can’t always say for the text versions of Audible Original titles.
I really like the small-town vibes going here, and how it leans heavily into the Christmas aesthetic with the name Mistletoe. And throw in a Christmas tree farm in the mix (I’m loving these heroines with family Christmas tree businesses lately), and it just makes it so much fun.
Merry and Clark have a fun dynamic, being enemies (of a sort) IRL, who end up unknowingly meeting on an online dating site and hitting it off. It’s a pretty common setup, but Hall makes it work, and I love how things develop, even if it is a bit awkward and ridiculous at times. Ultimately, once they really get to know each other, they are perfect for each other.
The pacing of this one is a bit uneven, taking its time to get going. It also lulls at points in the middle, especially towards the back half, and I feel some of it could have been condensed for a much smoother flowing story.
This book is pretty solid, and as this presumably did well in audio, I anticipate the new formats will allow it to reach a new audience. If you’re a fan of cozy holiday contemporary romance, you might like this one.

Thank you to Sourcebooks Casablanca and Codi Hall for the advanced reader copy of There's Something about Merry, receipt of which does not impact my review.

There's Something About Merry is a cute, slow-burn Christmas romance between Merry Winters, who is determined to help her parents see that she deserves to take over the family tree farm when her Dad retires, and Clark Griffin, a single dad - and the new foreman of the farm. Complicating matters for Merry is a flirty text convo on a dating app with an outdoorsman as her potential feelings for Clark start to pop up as they spend more time together. There's a bit of a grumpy sunshine vibe between the two, as well, which is always a favorite of mine.

Fans of Christmas rom-coms with spice will love this new tale - the slow burn is worth the wait!

This book lead to listening to Christmas Tree Farm by Taylor Swift on repeat which was great background while reading.

Merry Winter has just taken a year off of dating while living at her family’s Christmas Tree farm, Winter’s Christmas Tree Farm. She has hopes of taking over the family business one day which means she needs to start working with the new foreman, Clark Griffin. Clark is hesitant to get close with Merry because in high school he decided she was too good for him and it would be best to keep distance, however his son, Jace, clearly didn’t get that memo.

Merry and Clark start talking more and with the help of Jace, spending more time together, getting to know the grown up versions of each other. Meanwhile, Clark and Merry have dipped back into the dating world by chatting anonymously on the app MeetUp. Merry and Clark have had very rocky relationship pasts so getting to see them work out their own insecurities while trying to navigate new relationships was great to watch. Neither of them let their insecurities keep them down too long, everyone has weak moments but they made sure that they worked everything out quickly which I appreciated.

There’s Something About Merry was a great feel good holiday romance ! I will be going back to read about Merry’s brother in the first book of the series Nick and Noel’s Christmas playlist!

This was a sweet Christmas read about a single dad and a woman scared to open herself up to love.

Very cheesy but cute. Definitely has that hallmark movie feel to it. Not my favorite, but an enjoyable enough read.
