I love all the different illustrations and adaptations of Noah's Ark and these illustrations are some of the best I've seen!

This retelling of the classic story does a cute job of bringing the animals to life, giving them dialogue similar to what you might get if you crammed so many children into a small space like the ark. I could see this being a fun way to get kids thinking a little more deeply about what's actually happening in the story and what it would be like to live it.
The artwork was not my favorite, though - parts of it seemed to be really trying to be realistic and three dimensional, but then other parts (like the animals' faces) were very flat and simplified.

Noahs Ark is a fun book to teach children the biblical story of Noahs Ark. This books illustrations were absolutely amazing! They really make the book one to remember! This book was funny and interesting and the animal characters personalities were so much fun. I enjoyed how the book wasn't focused on the religious side of the story and more based on the environmental side to the story which will make it more inclusive for non religious children. There's morals to learn from the story which is always a bonus for me in children's books.
This would make a lovely book to gift a child who loves animal stories.

Jozef Wilkon & Piotr Wilkon’s Noah’s Ark is an interesting retelling of the Bible Story. I understand that it is a fictional retelling of what really happened, but for me, it was too much off the mark that I couldn’t like it no matter how hard I tried. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for the opportunity to read this book. My review is also on Goodreads.

Who would not like the story about Noah and the ark. This is a wonderful book to share with your child. A simple story and beautiful illustrations complement the telling of the story. I loved at the end the comment of the seal. Gave me a little chuckle 😊

I like to read children's books, particularly ones with illustrations. I really enjoyed this one, both the story and the pictures. The illustrations are whimsical and so detailed, and the animals have expressions and personalities. One of my favorite pictures was the animals helping Noah by bringing him the tree trunks - a musk ox, chimpanzee, two camels who worked together, elephants, etc. The two that really made me laugh were the alligator carrying a tree limb, and the rhinoceros balancing the trunk behind his horn.

Of course, the animals were anxious for the ark to be built, but then they were very bored while it rained and rained. Then they were bored waiting for the water to subside and land to reappear so that they could get out, There was a good bit of complaining (along the lines of "Are we there yet?"). Of course, eventually the rain stopped and the dove brought back an olive leaf. There is a surprise visit by a seal who reminded Noah that not all animals needed to be in the ark.

This is a fun read for young children and for the young at heart. Thanks to NetGalley and North South Books for the advance reading copy of this book. It was my pleasure to read and review it.

Hilarious romp aboard a ginormous ship. Not just any ship. This one is crowded with all sorts of animals and other stuff. It sails through good weather and foul while a man named Noah tries to keep order. A unique way to present the tale about the Ark.
My only suggestion is that the size of the font is too small. It should be as large as possible so parents who read this story don’t get eye strain.

An interesting retelling of the Biblical account of Noah and the Ark; it will make for interesting discussions [as it is not quite an exact retelling, though I am sure Noah would have loved help from the animals in the building of the ark] and is a fun and easy way to introduce littles to the Biblical story. The illustrations are fun and colorful and will also spark conversation as you look and see what is going on in each illustration.

In Piotr Wilkoń’s delightful version of this children’s staple of Sunday School, Noah faces a collection of squabbling animals with patience. But the real star of this book are Józef Wilkoń’s whimsical illustrations. What a delight for any child and his doting grownups.

In the interest of full disclosure, I received this book from NetGalley and North South Books in exchange for an honest review.

Short, sweet, and humorous retelling of Noah's ark for littles. It's funny to hear animals grumbling about being packed in together and wanting out! The story has as a nice surprise at the end that explains sea life! I've always wondered about them, The book's translation, I think, was pretty well done (I've encountered books in translation that I thought left a lot to be desire (particularly in short little boardbooks length books...). The illustrations will have the littles looking for their favorite animals, as there are so many in the scenes packed inside the ark, and on deck when the rains end. Kudos to Rosemary Lanning for the translation. Jozef Wilkon's art is amazing and deserving of being considered the best illustrator in Poland. I'd love to see more of his work! His son, Piotr Wilkon, has done a fine job of fitting words to his father's illustrations. NIce addition to a collection needing Noah's ark story for littles. It would make a nice gift, too.

Retelling of the story of Noah's Ark. This story gives us an inside look at what life might have been like on the ark for the 40 days and nights they lived there. Grumbling animals. Terrible smells. Lack of space. Then the dove came back with the olive branch and the flood was over. God sent the rainbow as a sign that thee would never be a great flood again.
Illustrations add to the gloom of 40 days and nights of rain.

This is a wonderful book. It tells the story of Noah’s Ark in a way that’s easily understandable for children. The illustrations are fun and creative, and draw the reader into the story.

I adore the art in this book. It's gorgeous. I love how the animals have personalities and adopt human attitudes about living in the ark. It amuses me. This author had me completely right up to the last few pages. When he writes that Noah prophecies about what the rainbow means and then stops to wonder where his words came from...he lost me. Anyone who would purchase this book would likely be at least marginally religious and I would bet the majority would be much more than marginally so. Noah doesn't wonder where his words came from. Noah knows. That was too much literary license for my taste.

What a wonderful way to introduce the Book of Genesis to the young ones. Especially those young ones curious about the bible.

I thoroughly enjoyed the story and unlike some other readers, it didn't bother me that the book didn't mention why God was angry at mankind. In my opinion, the omission creates an opportunity for dialogue and discussion about the reasons for God's anger.

I loved the illustrations and would have wanted a full illustration on each page matched with the narrative on the other page. Nevertheless, everything came together quite nicely.

Noah's Ark would be a perfect addition to any child's Easter basket. Too bad the release date falls after the holiday. But there's always next year. Five marvelous stars.

This is an easy to read and understand retelling of the Bible story of Noah’s ark. I liked that the animals where able to talk with Noah and that they where in someway childlike. I still wish the story was a bit longer since i felt that a lot was missing. Like why was god angry? What was with the other People ? For a short book it was still nice.

I love when stories from the Bible are made easier for children to understand. The talking animals are a great touch to keep children's attention and make it more entertaining for them. I wish there was more of an explanation of why God was angry and why He sent the flood. For a short book it was still very nice and I really enjoyed the beautiful illustrations.

This book was a collaboration by a father/son pair from Poland. Who doesn’t love a story about Noah and the ark? The illustrations were simple but beautiful. The colors were muted, not a typical colorful kids book. I loved that difference though. I would recommend this to any family with young children.

What a beautiful telling of "Noah"! The illustrations are truly what grabbed me, but what I loved most was the way the writer paralleled the failing faith of the Israelites in the dessert with complaining animals, and the everlasting love of God through Noah. Truly a beautiful book!
