I'm absolutely speechless and not in a good way. The methodology used to find your moon sign is not only confusing, but also inaccurate. The moon sign changes every two and a half days, at noon. So two people born on the same day can have two different moon signs depending on their time of birth. Also, location and time of birth is important, especially if you moved into a different time zone from your birth date. I'm just baffled why the author didn't suggest a website to calculate the moon sign.

This book is poorly organized, frustrating to read and doesn't offer any insight. I was under the impression this was about the moon and unlocking its code. This book transitions into sun signs. It feels like it was slapped together without much thought just for the sake of publishing a book. There are so many other amazing books out there on the moon in astrology and it's impact on your daily life.

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Very informative book. Full of a lot of useful information. This book will also be very useful for future reference

I had such high hopes for this book, but was left pretty disappointed.
The information in the book is really basic - despite the title of the book making it sound more in-depth than it book actually is.
I know my birth chart, and according to this book - my moon sign is different to my actual birth chart? Bit strange?
Not entirely convinced.

Unfortunately, I didn't understand the layout of this book. It came off originally as focusing heavily on moon signs but later also discussed sun signs. There are better, more complete beginner astrology books out there.

Unoriginal and was pretty much cut/paste paragraphs and astrology/zodiac information that can be found with a quick Google search.

Thank you to Netgalley and Watkins for the digital galley in exchange for my honest review.

Unfortunately, I don’t like it and I wouldn’t recommend it. I don’t find the information particularly insightful or accurate, and all of this information can be found better displayed in other books. I particularly found the systems used to determine Houses and Moon Signs lacking.

The entire book hinges on people being able to identify their lunar zodiac sign. I already knew mine, and I still found the multiple chart situation to be a bit of a hang up. I did eventually end up with the correct sign, but I hesitate to say that this is user friendly. I think a better method of identification could have been used.

People who are unfamiliar with how the moon travels through signs may even be assigned the incorrect moon sign, making the book useless to them. I tested the chart system out with birthdays other than mine, where I know the confirmed moon sign, and some of them are assigned the wrong sign with this chart.

1. I think there may be a typo in the chart because if you are born on the 6th day of the month, it tells you to jump 2 signs forward, but if you’re born on the 7th it tells you to jump 7 signs forward. And then only 3 signs forward for the 8th day of the month.

2. Moon signs can change in the middle of the day. So someone born on the 4th of the month is told to jump 1 zodiac sign, but the moon may have already progressed into another sign. Meaning: they may need to jump two signs instead of just one.

I think a better alternative to the chart would be simply stating the moon’s placement like so:

2022 -
March 18 at 6:32am entering Virgo
March 20 at 11:10am entering Libra
March 22 at 2:33pm entering Scorpio

It’s a whole lot of work to do but it ensures accuracy and would reflect well on the book. I have seen astrology books do it in fine print for every moon transit over a forty year period to make their book user friendly. Either that, or add a disclaimer to double check their sign on an online birth chart calculator. However, that would not make the book appear like a good source of information or very knowledgable.

Here’s what I like:
1. Activities for the different phases of the moon
2. The following lunar trends section where it tells you when the best time of the month is to do your chores and what colour you should wear

Here’s what I don’t like:
1. It seems to just scratch the surface and be a little basic
2. The love connection section which I don’t find useful at all and diminishes the nuance between different sun and moon love connections (also that most attraction and romantic relationships are more closely related to Mars and Venus placement)
3. I’m unsure about why instead of Virgo being represented by a Virgin it’s now been changed to a Corn Goddess. None of the other signs have been modified.
4. The chart system for finding your moon sign (see above)

Things I’m hesitant to like:
1. The final part of the book briefly explains the house system in astrology and seems to be instructing people to use their sun sign in house 1 and work backwards through the zodiac for houses 2-12. The book doesn’t even begin to discuss rising signs, and your rising sign (the sign on the horizon at the time of your birth) should be in the First House.
