Self awareness is not a particularly new topic nor is the use of a mirror in therapy. Perhaps because I struggle with meditation in this form that the appeal fell flat to me. Therapy is subjective and an approach that doesn't work for one doesn't mean it doesn't work. Perhaps this is more a reflection on me that I prefer not to spend extra time in front of a mirror

I struggled to finish this book. I didn't personally get much out of it and had hoped for more. It may be a good resource for people with poor self esteem. I was hoping for something more like manifestation and affirmation, whereas this seemed more caught up in self acceptance. I won't be publicly reviewing the book since it's not one I'd personally recommend.

This book is interesting. I like the thinking behind it, but I think it would have been helpful if it was a more visual book. It is great information, but it needs to be broken up with some images to give your brain space to process the ideas.

I was drawn to this book because I'd seen some healing practitioners do similar work with mirrors with their clients. I didn't know much about it so that's what attracted me to the book to learn more about the technique.

In recent years, I've worked to improve eye contact with others and this book helped with that and really made me more aware of how eye contact creates connection. I've also been addressing critical body image thoughts and this work helped in that area tremendously, as well. I've turned my makeup routine into a ritual by playing a calming audio and connecting there, too. So many powerful tweaks add up!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an unbiased review.

I'm a very spiritual person who believes in the power of Self-Reflection and Shadow Work. I was intrigued by this book combining self-reflection with an actual mirrored reflection. I can't say that I got everything that I was expecting for this book, but I did enjoy what I received. I also really loved all of the activities and journal prompts that made this book feel more interactive than a seminar.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
