A gritty YA fantasy novel focused on djinn folklore and the exceptional actions of a teenager who must save his friends when his wish goes awry. With two companions, Bax does everything in his power to save them as he learns the dark lesson about being careful for what you wish for.

This novel could also be considered a coming of age story as Bax journeys through the emotional trials of being in high school.

A little bit darker than other YA novels than I usually read but I was hooked from the first chapter. The fast-moving plot made me appreciate the slightly harsher undertones even more. The characters were realistic and I really enjoyed their adventure.

let me start with the positive. The story line and characters were very good. I enjoyed it from the start to the finish.

The Negative

Although a very good cover nothing about it screams fantasy. in fact it looks more suited to another genre. Maybe a Jin coming out of a ring would have been better as a cover. or just a Jin. I know you should never judge a book by the cover. but in this case its important. what sold me and got me interested was the blurb. I haven read from this author before. Its his first book. I highly recommend it. you wont regret it. This book was given free to me in exchange for an honest review.
