Well, well, well. I'm really surprised by the load of 1 and 2 star reviews on Goodreads. I don't get it AT ALL.

I loved every second of this book and was always happy to start listening to it again when I got in the car. I was asking myself: Do I have a reason to NOT give this book 5 stars? And to be honest, I don't...

The narrator did a fantastic job, the story had loads of questions and mystery and the ending was THA BOMB. I also feel like this was a story that was definitely believable and possible.
At the end I was very satisfied, to be honest.

I'm definitely willing to read more by Karen McQuestion!

Clever and psychological - gets the old grey matter stirring at pace. Twisted on many levels so a great one to sit back and absorb yourself in.

Sarah appears at 214 Palmer Street and makes herself out to be the housesitter; there is however more than meets the eye to Sarah.
This is a thriller that centres around childhood secrets and what happens when they come out.
It is a well written story that is well narrated.
The characters are well described and visible to you.
There are lots of twists and turns in this story, which at times make it difficult to follow at times, but it all comes clear by the end.
This will be a popular book to thriller fans.
Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley in allowing me to listen to in return for a review.

I really thought I’d enjoy this one but unfortunately it just didn’t work for me. I don’t know if I might have enjoyed it more in ebook/physical form but I found it hard to follow whose perspective I was listening to on the audio version and the mystery just didn’t work for me, not in this format at least.
2.5 stars rounded up to 3

Unfortunately, this was really difficult for me to enjoy although I desperately wanted to! I found it was hard to differentiate between characters and the plot ended up getting away from me, meaning I couldn’t continue with the story.

I received this book through Netgalley and requested it as its description of an unknown woman occupying someone else's home caught my attention. This book jumps right in and hooks you, which is always a plus for me. Sarah claims to be an unexpected house sitter for Katie and Josh who are on vacation to the watchful neighbor Maggie Scott.

Sarah is probably my favorite character. She is independent and determined. She wants to discover the truth and does not fully understand what doing that will cost her. Her relationship ith her husband Kirk is complicated. She has found a great friend in her physical therapist Phil, who Kirk is not fond of due to how he pushes Sarah's recovery.

Phil is a fun character who goes over and beyond for his patients, especially Sarah. The relationship between Sarah and Phil is one that I admire. Phil wants to help Sarah and wants only the best for her. They have a fun relationship that slowly develops as the story progresses.

There is so much going on in the story of Sarah and her husband Kirk. The relationships are complicated and it is truly a web of lies and deceit. I did have a little bit of difficulty keeping track of each character's relationship with each other at first as many of them cross paths with each other in different ways.

The mysteries in the book are great and they are well developed. I was honestly blind sighted by what really happened at the end of the book. Even once the murder mystery is solved, the lies and deciet continue as some individuals just can't let go.

I love audiobooks because it allows you to listen to them anywhere and pretty much at any time. I liked *** narration of the book. They did a wonderful job drawing you into the story and painting a picture for you as the story and characters develop.

I would give this book a 4 because I liked the pace of the story, the character development, and the narrator. This book was just not a "can't put down" one for me though.

The story was good but the mystery wasn't very mysterious! So many parts were predictable, nonetheless it was enjoyable. And all the characters were unlikable and their relationships made no sense.

Sarah and Kirk's relationship was off with red flags, so the love was unexplainable! Except for Sarah being a weak, naive girl!
The policeman Gavin being a psychopath cold hearted killer!

The narration was good and enjoyable

Thank you to Netgalley, the author and the publisher for chance to review this audiobook in exchange for an honest review. This was an enjoyable and entertaining read. It was fast paced with some twists although a little predictable at times. I thought the book synopsis sounded interesting but it had a slow start and it took awhile to grab my attention.

Audio version of this book 📚- I found this book to be quite slow with not much of a storyline , the narrator was good which was probably why I stuck with it but it just want gripping enough .

I had a difficult time getting into this audiobook . Part of it I do think was the narrator for me .
The audiobook did get better towards the second half

I love a good domestic suspense, and was intrigued by this story of a house full of secrets. Author Karen McQuestion is a master storyteller, and I enjoyed all of the twists!

As an avid reader and big fan of audiobooks, I was easily able to escape with this story, but would’ve preferred multiple narrators to keep the characters apart.

*many thanks to Bookouture Audio/ Netgalley for the gifted copy ALC for review

I was excited for this book as I currently live in boring suburbia and often let my imagination run away with me on what is going on behind closed doors. However, this book couldn’t keep my attention. After stopping and started many times, I eventually just put it down for good

I’m so sorry about this, but I was not feeling this book. I got about 30% into and I DNFd it. I did not like the storyline or the characters. I wasn’t connecting with them at all. Maybe somebody else’s cup of tea but not mine.

Thank you NetGalley for this ARC.

Thank you Bookouture, Karen McQuestion, and Netgalley for this audiobook in exchange for an honest review. This fast paced book is full of lies, deception, and heartbreak. The narrator was really good. I really enjoyed listening to this one. 🌟🌟🌟🌟1/2 rating from me.

It is an easy read, with only four main characters. Sadly, the characters had no depth and took ridiculous decisions which made me stop and sigh a few times. The connections between the characters were shaky at best and I found myself wondering who the characters were.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

I scooped this book up right away, having listened to a previous book by Karen McQuestion. She is a fantastic storyteller and will lead you down one path, completely believing one story to later find it was nothing that you had expected. This audiobook did not disappoint! Told from 2 different POV's we have one unreliable narrator telling part of the story and the other you would believe is completely guilty. At times I suspected the story to be almost paranormal, but by the end McQuestion has unfolded a mystery and not skipped a beat. This is a murder mystery for any fan to enjoy piecing together. Not completely unsolvable but I will admit it was well put developed.
An enjoyable and very believable murder mystery!

This was unfortunately a dud for me and should have been a DNF. I was drawn in by the synopsis but the synopsis doesn't really cover what the story is actually about. its also marketed as a psychological thriller to that I ask where? This book is about Sarah who is overcoming a trauma that happened to her that opens up more questions about her husband and his past. this leads her on a journey to his childhood home as she try's to uncover the secrets buried there and others who will do everything to stop that from happening. this is definitely just your average mystery book.

214 Palmer Street has a plot that had a potential to be great. I just felt like the story behind it fell short. I just cannot see someone in real life going to the lengths that Sarah did to try to prove something that someone did in the past….especially when it is her husband. I can understand having some qualms about certain things, but I also feel like I’d protect my husband. Although if he had just been forthcoming, maybe she wouldn’t have gone to the extremes that she did!

It was a quick, easy read, so if you’re looking for one of those, definitely give this one a shot. It is one of those that you probably won’t love, but you probably won’t hate either.

Thanks to NetGalley, Bookouture Audio, and Karen McQuestion for this gifted copy in exchange for my honest review!

A psychological thriller with characters that I never really bought into. The premise of the story was interesting and convoluted which kept me listening but the events that occurred were, to me, so physically impossible that it had me shaking my head. I liked the intrigue and the character's relationships that bought them together. But the solving/discovery of the problem by a single woman was not believable.
I did listen till the end but my opinion remained the same.
