An engaging, well crafted and passion filled regency romance. I loved Isobel and Royce and how they fought for each other. An honourable lady and a doctor is not your usual regency romance so I was invested in their journey and reaching their happy ending.

Perhaps this novel should have been called “Stirring Up a Storm”, as that is what Lady Isobel Storme does at every opportunity. The youngest daughter, having grown up in a household where arguments were loud and acrimonious, Isobel is determined never to get married and subject herself to the kind of treatment her mother received at her father's hand. Given an ultimatum by her male relatives is enough to set Isobel on a course of self-destruction, and although she does her worst, she is fortunate that she chooses Doctor Royce Marsden as her partner in crime. Royce has become intimately involved in the Storme family and as he begins to understand the dynamics between the various members, Isobel is the one that poses the biggest challenge. Whilst his father is alive and doing well, he is free to explore all the possibilities that come with Isobel, but as soon as the responsibilities of the Earldom fall upon him, Royce has to rethink his options. However, when Isobel goes one step too far, creating even more havoc in their ranks, Royce has to decide whether to risk his heart or his future. I loved Royce's character and even though he went along with Isobel's schemes, he is nevertheless protective of her. I found Isobel a little harder to understand and to like and was glad when she eventually began to find some purpose in her life. I received a copy of this romance as a gift through Dragonblad Publishing and NetGalley and this is my honest and voluntary review.
