Tammy Gray’s Love and the Dream Come True finally gives us Cameron’s story and it is a gem. I have read and enjoyed every book in this series, but at times wasn’t a fan of Cameron’s. This book definitely changed my mind. I loved the way Gray took two hurting souls (Lexie and Cameron) and brought them together for healing and ultimately love. I read chapter 16 more than once and was close to tears every time. Gray has a gift for writing characters who are less than perfect, often downtrodden by their flaws, but with the grace and help of the One who made them, come to redemption and healing.

Gray’s books are always a favorite and I highly recommend this conclusion to the State of Grace Series. I think this book could be read as a stand-alone but would be best enjoyed in conjunction with the first two books, read in order.

Love and the Dream Come True by Tammy L. Gray is the third book closing an amazing series. I’ve loved all the previous books in this series and I found this book to be the perfect end. Cameron finally gets his story! I loved the heroine in this book. Her past brings up so many emotions and difficulties. I highly recommend this entire series. I received a digital copy of this book from the publisher with no obligations. These opinions are entirely my own.

I love that we get Cameron's story with this one! After reading the other books in the series (which I highly recommend to fully appreciate this one!). it was nice to see where life takes him. I also loved the themes and life lessons. This one is so, so good!

I’ve read this entire series, so what fun to see familiar characters and to learn their story. Before this, these two had been on the outskirts of the previous novels. It was satisfying to see them take center stage in first person. One of the themes is what to do after the dream comes true. Where to next? Especially if it wasn’t as fulfilling as one would like.

I loved that Lexie has had a crush on Cameron for-ev-er. This was a fun aspect as they reunited. Lexie’s daughter is such a great “cast member” in the novel.

This heroine is wordy! She rambles, and I admit I skipped her pages at times. We’ve all known people like that, though, haven’t we? If only we could skip ahead in those conversations. Heh.

There were some poignant lines, like: “What is it about coming gome that makes all the masks disappear?” (location 362 in the ARC)

As a musician and songwriter, I enjoyed the music aspect of this story.

The hero’s anxiety manifests itself in a tough challenge. This may be relatable for some readers.

Overall, an enjoyable read.

What a beautiful and heart-tugging ending to the State of Grace Series! It totally melted my heart!
I have to say, I was awaiting for Cameron Lee’s own story since the first book, and even more after the second book! Even if this book can be read as a standalone, I definitely recommend to read the series in order because you get to know the characters -especially Cameron in this case- so much better from the start. And Cameron -Oh Cameron!- has a complicated story that leads to this moment in which he feels a complete failure, professionally, emotionally and spiritually.
You can say he has an existential life crisis, where he doesn’t know how to navigate the next steps in his life. Without his muse for music, he’s at a crossroads, and his manager no longer wants his creative songs but for him to do other’s people covers which doesn’t inspire him nor motivate him at all. He returns to his sister’s wedding, a bit afraid to face his past and see the love of his life who turned him down for his best friends. He never expects to run into his sister’s best friend Lexie who has turned into a beautiful, hard-working, optimistic woman, who may hold the key to turning his life upside down in a good way.
Single Mom Lexie Walters has had her own setbacks, but she has learned to thrive through them. She has finally associated with her cousin Mason to remodel a house and needs to focus on this if they want to get it soon enough in the market. Lexie has had a long-time crush on Cameron and never expects to reconnect with him after so many years at her best friend’s wedding. Her heart in turmoil, she’s also at odds with her teenage daughter who seems to be hiding something from her. Can she help Cameron heal and turn his life to God once again, and can she reach out to her daughter when she needs her most?
I was totally engaged in this story! Lexie and Cameron totally had me rooting for them and their plights -the good and the hard ones- felt so close as if they were mine. My heart ached for Cameron’s need of grace and redemption, and my heart ached as well for Lexie’s struggle to be a good mom and provide for her daughter. The character growth in this story is amazing. I loved how relatable the characters felt. I related to Cameron and his anxiety, as well as Lexie’s need to prove herself a good mom to her daughter. Lexie was my favorite character, her kind heart, her fierce protectiveness, her endless optimism and charm, she was a beacon of light to others. Cameron needed that light as he felt he was in the shadows, his life lacking purpose and true sense. Cameron’s story of redemption was beautiful and touching. And the way God used Lexie to bring light into his life was humbling. I don’t want to spoil this story. I just want to say that it touched my heart in so many ways, and that it impacted me as well. The need to trust God when the future is uncertain. And especially, when life turns out different from what we expected or dreamed about. Maybe Cameron had a dream, but what turns out in the end is so much better -albeit different or imperfect- than the future he could have ever imagined. And that is because God knows best. And he’s the Only One who can bring good and healing through hardship and failure. This is definitely a story I recommend. But please, give yourself the chance, and read the whole series from the start. It’s such a wonderful and inspirational series. It will touch your heart!

Musician Cameron is in a slump. He has lost his motivation to compose new music and his label assigns him to create a 10-song album to fulfill a contract. He's given a couple months to choose the songs from a supplied list as his name sells, even if he is off-track. He returns to his hometown for his sister's wedding and chooses to stay there for his break.
Lexie, a long-time acquaintance of Cameron, has had a crush on him for forever. She, though is raising her 13 year old niece and has her hands full. Her niece, Morgan, is at an age where she wants to know her birth mother and that causes strife for Lexie and Morgan.

This book was a 3.75 for me. I’m giving this book a 3.75 for Tammy’s amazing writing. This isn’t a bad book by any means, I just wasn’t invested in these characters or their story. I wasn’t a fan of Cameron in book one, so I didn’t care to read about him and his life in this book, and that is why my enjoyment for this book was more of a 2 star. Also, Lexie was very obsessive over Cameron while also being immature and irresponsible as a mother, and I didn’t connect with her character or story either. The reason for a 3.75 star (rounded to a 4 star on Goodreads) is for this series which I absolutely loved and for the writing. I love Tammy L. Gray’s work and how she can tell a beautiful story.

I'm so sad to see this story end!!!! I've loved getting to know the characters that all started at this church together. Tammy knows how to write a compelling yet funny story that hits you in the heart, all while adding swoon worthy Christian romance! 10/10!!!

Cameron Lee isn’t living the music star dream. Sure, he has two albums and an award-winning single, but now he’s contractually obliged to provide the label with a third album, but he’s lost his desire to write or even sing. First, he has to go home and attend his baby sister’s wedding … and hopefully not face up to the mistakes of his past.

Lexie Walters is the twenty-nine-year-old guardian/mother to Morgan, who is thirteen-going-on-forty. Despite being orphaned and having to drop out of college to raise her niece before the age of twenty, Lexi is the eternal optimist who doesn’t let things list clocks and lists get int he way of enjoying life. (To be honest, that annoyed me at first but she did grow on me). She’s an interior designer who has just bought a house with her contractor cousin that they plan to renovate and flip. And she’s had a crush on her best friend’s older brother since she was thirteen.

He’s a singer … Cameron Lee. So yes, we know where this story is going. I will say I found the beginning a little confusing because it took me a few pages to work out that Cameron was the hero, not the heroine.

It also took me a couple of chapters to realise the book is written in first person from both points of view—Cameron’s and Lexie’s—so it was important for me to read the chapter titles so I knew which character I was reading. Yes, I usually ignore chapter titles (because I find too many give spoilers).

The story picked up in pace and interest once Cameron and Lexie meet at the wedding.
They then discover Cameron is staying in town, renting a house two doors down from the house Lexie is renovating. That gives lots of opportunities to bring the two together and allow their relationship to develop.

It’s obvious from early on that Lexie has a strong Christian faith. Cameron is a believer, but has struggling with faith for several years, since he left home to chase his music dream. His journey back to faith isn’t explicit, but it’s also obvious that it’s tied up with his journey back to music, and that is clearly shown. So while the novel isn’t all rah-rah-Jesus, it is definitely a Christian story … but one that a non Christian might also be interested in reading.

Love and the Dream Come True is the third book in Tammy L Gray’s State of Grace series, following Love and a Little White Lie and Love and the Silver Lining. I’ve read the whole series but have to admit that I can’t remember anything about the previous books except that I really enjoyed them (which is why I requested a review copy of this one).

However, I never felt as though I’d missed anything in not remembering. To me, that’s the market of a well-written novel, when I don’t feel like I’m missing anything from not having read (or remembered) the earlier books in the series. I have since re-read my reviews and can now remember how much I did enjoy the stories. What is most interesting is how much time has passed in novel-world since the first story was released—five or six years. I’m glad I didn’t have to wait that long.

Recommended for contemporary romance fans, especially those who enjoy rock star romance or similar.

I felt that this was a wonderful romance. I loved how Lexie and Cameron work as a couple even though it takes a bit for them to figure it out. I enjoyed learning how they each worked through their problems. I like reading books where a single mother can find happiness. I received a copy of this book from the publisher for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

Oh my goodness, for anyone who loves a good romance, Love and the Dream Come True is a must-read. In preparation for reading this book, I read the first two in the series. While this third offering will make complete sense without checking out the first two, I’d recommend doing so. Just because they’re great stories. And who doesn’t enjoy the inside scoop on a romantic hero?

And to be absolutely clear, Cameron Lee is a wonderful hero. A tortured musician, unable to play, desperate to move on from the unrequited love of his best friend. Enter Lexi, a woman who has adored Cam since she was a teenager. But now, she’s a single mom with an adopted daughter, bills to pay and a house to renovate. An attraction forms almost the minute the two old friends run into each other at a Cam’s sister’s wedding. But Cam know’s he’s leaving and Lexi has other things on her mind.

Love and the Dream Come True is a beautiful and engaging story. I really enjoyed the tome of this book. Lighthearted when need be but then weighty when the plot allowed. The banter between Cameron and Lexi’s teenage daughter, is particularly entertaining. You feel the attraction to soul level, and that requires extremely skilled writing. The moments where Cameron explored his missing faith were beautifully done too.

As I said at the start, if you enjoy contemporary Christian romance, this is a win.

This is the third book in the State of Grace trilogy. While I did not read the first two books, I think this final book is able to be understood on its own.
First, I must commend the author for writing a story with such vivid language. The author provides lively descriptions and details throughout the book. Furthermore, the characters are not by any means flat. They each demonstrate progress and development through difficult situations. The story shines a light on several relationships where restoration, forgiveness, and healing are experienced. Overall, however, this book was difficult for me to finish. Most of the characters were quite immature, and it was impossible to like them. The protagonists, Lexie and Cameron, as well as their friends, seem tortured by events of the past, yet their reactions seemed unbelievable and overexaggerated to me.

Super cute and beautiful story of redemption and accepting forgiveness. I loved the way Tammy finished out her series by bringing it full circle. The writing was excellent and the characters were so easy to identify with throughout the story. The love found was hard fought for and won and I loved how it wasn’t only between a couple but also between families. Tammy didn’t steer away from the hard truths but let us join her characters in their journey to being the best that God had for them. Definitely one you don’t want to miss reading and one I know you’ll want to add to your shelves to reread.

Boy, did this mother and daughter resemble me and my daughter. In all its glory and not so glorious.

Gray has given Cameron the happy ever after of this reader’s dreams. Once, the frustrating and somewhat self-centered almost-hero of the first two books in the series has become the redeemed and deserving hero of book three. The author managed to endear me to a character whom I liked but found equally frustrating. Cameron’s turn-around was a welcome character transition, as well as beautifully and authentically written. The romance was quite sweet and there were elements from previous books that rounded out the series nicely. Well done.

This book was one I didn't know how to feel about going into it. There was a lot of baggage that Cameron was bringing into the story, but I cared about him from the previous books, and I was looking forward to him finally getting his own happily ever after. The moment I first read about Lexie I loved her. She was such a great character that was easy to relate to and was perfect for Cameron. I loved seeing their story play out. All the challenges they had to work through showed just how admirable these characters were. I truly loved how they fought both of their pasts to come together into who they truly are and want to be.

I really liked that this book jumped ahead a few years from the last few books, it worked so well to really make me feel the pain Cameron has gone through in that time. It was necessary for the story to develop the way it did. It also gave us some new insight into what has been going on in the lives of the other characters. It was great.

I don't think I can truly put into words how deeply this book made me feel. It was very emotional for me. The author had a way of writing that made me feel so connected to the characters. The story came alive to me and I couldn't help but feel everything the characters did.

The book was beautiful, in my opinion. One of the best I have read this year. I didn't want it to end. I enjoyed the other 2 in the series, but they were nothing compared to this one. While this one could technically be read as a standalone, I don't recommend doing that. I would read at least the second book first because it allows you to see Cameron's character and story develop. I have a stronger appreciation of everything he goes through because of it.

For the sake of not wanting to spoil it, I'm going to stop talking about this book because it is one I think everyone will experience differently. Some people might not connect on a deeper level to it, maybe they will only see the lighthearted side, or maybe they will experience the emotional connection I did, but that is for each person to find out on their own. However, I do think everyone who reads it will feel the emotion the author put into the story. This one, along with the other books in the series feel personal, like we are getting a glimpse into the life of someone very much like us, who experiences similar things we have all gone through. The pages are full of universal truth, things almost everyone has experienced at some point in their life, and it is told in real, raw way. While at the same time, the story never gets too heavy, there is almost a lightheartedness to it that is comforting.

I truly cannot thank the author enough for sharing such an amazing book. The romance was cute and sweet, but it wasn't the whole story. There was a struggle with faith that I wish there might have been just a smidge more of, I feel like that was a bigger part to the story that we didn't quite get to see. It was definitely there, it was just a little light.

I have thoroughly enjoyed this entire series, but this one might be my favorite. I'm actually a little sad it is ending because I've grown to love these characters and the emotions they put me through. Each of the characters dug into my heart and I rooted for them to find their happy. I especially loved Cameron. What a gem. And cheeky teen, Morgan, added so much to the story. (I want to visit her treehouse!)

Good things come to those that wait, and Lexie has waited a long time for her dream to come true. She has been in love with Cameron since she was a kid, paling around with Cassie, Cameron's sister and Lexie's best friend. Life threw some wicked curveballs her way, but she never gave up hope or her love for him. Perhaps some would call it obsessive and not realistic; after all, Cameron has become something of a music star and lives in another state. Cameron feels like something is missing in his life, especially when it comes to his music. He thinks he is pouring his heart and soul into the songs, but perhaps something is holding him back.

This book is filled with exciting characters and a wide variety of emotions and feelings that give it depth on a level that we could only imagine. Lexie has spent the last decade raising her sister's daughter as her own. She wasn't expecting to become a mother at 19, and thankfully, she was able to raise Morgan in a stable environment. That is until Morgan became a teenager, and we all know what happens with teen emotions and angst. Their relationship is like any other between a parent and a child, fraught with ups and downs. They seem to do well until Lexie uncovers a secret that Morgan has been keeping from her, which does not go well. Cameron has been living on the edge in his career and in a world filled with panic attacks, which doesn't bode well for a performer. Watching his story unfold allows us to appreciate his issues and perhaps even relate in some respects.

I didn't realize this was the third in a series, but that did not take away from my enjoyment of reading this novel. I had no preconceived notions of their past and any grudges that any of the characters might have held against another. The characters shared many emotions, both good and bad, and this added to the depth of the story. There are enough flashbacks for a reader to understand the backstory of the relationships between some of the characters. I feel like there is more to Mason's story that is just touched upon, but the chip on his shoulder is massive. Perhaps he needs his own story?

The theme I keep coming back to is faith. Both Lexie and Cameron have it, but it isn't perfect. They both have issues that need to be dealt with, which will take time. Nothing is perfect or easy for them, and this is a good reflection on life in general. No one has a perfect life, and we all must have faith as we deal with our struggles.

This was a lovely book, one that made me think about how I approach life and others.

LOVE AND THE DREAM COME TRUE is a character-driven romance between Cameron, a down on his luck musician, and Lexie, a single mother and close friend of Cam's younger sister. Oh, and Lexie has had a crush on Cam for years!
The writing of the novel is conversational and draws in the reader early in the story. The narrative point of view switches between Cam and Lexie, given the reader ample opportunity to follow along with the story and get to know both main characters. The characters show emotional growth and development throughout the novel, especially Cam. From rediscovering his music, to tackling his panic attacks, to rebuilding friendships, Cam's arc was a pleasure to read.
I quickly connected with Morgan, Lexie's 13-year-old daughter. Morgan is integral to bringing Lexie and Cam together. I valued how Cam treated Morgan, making sure there was no 'creepy old dude' vibe when Morgan was in the treehouse in his yard. I can relate to Lexie wanting to keep Morgan safe on the internet with her phone and not on social media, even with Morgan's repeated requests. Morgan adds some very real-world elements to the novel.
I did notice that this is the third book in the STATE OF GRACE series. But unlike some romance series, the characters in this book are their own, with minimal interaction with the characters in the other books. LOVE AND THE DREAM COME TRUE can easily be read as a stand-alone. Though, I'm curious enough about the other novels in the series to add them to my TBR list!
Even though Cam and Lexie were in adjacent social circles as teenagers, it didn't feel like they had enough time together in this novel as adults for their relationship to progress so quickly. While Insta-love is a trope many readers enjoy, I am not a fan. I want more time for the relationship to build. I struggled with the beginning of Cam and Lexie's relationship, at least when told from Lexie's side of the story. It reads like her fantasy come to life, and not the reality of meeting someone, getting to know them, and then developing feelings. Lexie goes so far as to say she "can't let go of" her crush. That seems like a considerable challenge to the relationship, and it's never addressed in the story, which left me feeling concerned about their happily ever after.
Overall, I found Cam and Lexie's story engaging and a pleasure to read. With realistic characters and an epilogue which ties together all the loose strings, I can recommend LOVE AND THE DREAM COME TRUE to romance readers.
