Nicholas Sparks never disappoints! I thought the book was pretty fast paced and filled with romance & mystery and some suspense! That ending really pulled on the heart strings.

4/5 stars

I received an ARC of Dreamland by Nicholas Sparks in return for my honest review.
Nicholas Sparks has done it again, created a masterpiece of a novel that draws you in from the first page. The characters are so real and raw that you feel what they are feeling, their thoughts draw you in. The descriptions of places, events and people are so intricate that you see it vividly in your mind. The storyline is, of course, riveting and mesmerizing right up till the last page!
Colby was an aspiring musician and singer until his Uncle passed away leaving him to help run the family farm with his Aunt Angie.
Colby takes a much needed vacation, playing his music in a bar, in St. Pete's Florida, when he meets Morgan.
Morgan is beautiful and talented, a recent graduate from a prestigious music school, she hopes to move to Nashville and start a career.
The attraction is instantaneous, and soon they are spending as much time as possible together, completely falling for each other.
Beverly is on the run, with her young son, from her abusive husband. Gary.
She is using disguises when she travels and having her son sit away from her in the hopes that they won't be recognized. She finds a house where the owner doesn't ask questions, just takes her money. Beverly wants to make this a home for the both of them, but soon she makes some horrific discoveries that change everything.
Colby, Morgan and Beverly's lives intersect in ways no one could have ever predicted!

DREAMLAND by @nicholassparks

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️5/5

I have not read a Nicholas Sparks novel in so long so when I saw he had a new one coming out and I requested an ARC, I literally went giddy when I was approved!

I am *obsessed* with this novel! Nicholas Sparks has done it again!

Colby escapes his farm life with his aunt and sister to visit Florida for three weeks for a couple singing gigs. He wasn’t planning on meeting anyone until Morgan comes along and the two of them fall in love with eachother and their mutual love for singing. At the same time, Beverly and her son are trying to escape her abusive husband and things don’t go according to plan for her.

A few chapters tells Colby’s story and a few chapters tells Beverly’s story and it goes back and forth like that a bit. I couldn’t figure out the correlation between the two even though I knew something would be there. But then the end of the story hits and I was so shook and never saw that ending coming!

Also the very very end, queue all the ugly tears 😭😭😭!!

Read if you like:
•Dual POV’s
•Lust at first sight
•Manatees and kayaking
•Cheeseburgers
•Running in the rain
•Lyrics in a book
•Heart racing, palms sweaty

Comes out September September 20!

Thanks to @netgalley, @randomhouse and @nicholassparks for this gifted ARC in exchange for an honest review!

This is an old school Nicholas sparks novel filled with love and hope- meet cute with substance. It is coupled with. Troubling page turning story of secrets. At times I felt I was reading two different novels. Would have liked more about Colby but I loved how the stories intersected. Sparks just gets better

Nicholas Sparks continues to be one of my favorite authors. This story is told from the point of view of Colby and Beverly who have completely different circumstances going on. I couldn't put this book down until I found out how their stories would come together. This book is filled with romance, mystery, suspense and a twist! Another great read!

This book has two storylines that come together in a surprising, yet perfect way. Colby falls in love with Morgan, on a much needed Florida vacation. They both are aspiring musicians and connect through music. Beverly is a single mom who is on the run from an abusive husband.

This book was charming and well thought out. I did feel that Beverly’s storyline reminded me a little of Safe Haven at first, but then quickly realized it was going to turn out very different. If you are a Nicholas Sparks fan, then I definitely recommend! This will pull on your heartstrings! Thank you Net Galley for the ARC!

This story is told through two viewpoints. Colby’s and Beverly’s.
Colby is a farmer whose true passion is music. The story begins with him playing some gigs in Florida away from his home in North Carolina. While in Florida, Colby meets Morgan and connects with her like he never has with anyone else. His side of the story follows their love story. I tried hard to like Morgan but I just didn’t care for her character. I also didn’t find that Colby and Morgan had a very good connection. It didn’t feel authentic to me.
Beverly and her young son are on the run from her abusive husband. They are starting over in a small town near Chicago. I found Beverly’s story much more interesting at times. You spend the majority of the book trying to figure out how Colby’s and Beverly’s stories are connected. I had many theories and ended up being partially correct but there was still some parts I was missing.
This was a quick and easy read but it was not one of my favorites by Nicholas Sparks. I don’t see it being made into a movie like many of his others. I would still recommend to other Nicholas Sparks fans!
Thank you to Netgalley and Random House Publishing Group for this ARC.

Wow! So much can happen in one short week! I’ve been reading Nicholas Sparks books for a long time and they just keep getting better! This book has two different storylines that collide perfectly. Colby and Morgan are aspiring musicians who fall in love. Beverly is an abused single mom on the run with her young son. This book grabbed my attention and held it until the very last page. I highly recommend it. Thanks to NetGalley for giving me an ARC.

Once again Nicholas Sparks does not disappoint

This book starts out with Colby who is a farmer/musician which is such a weird combination but it works for him. ?He took a break from the farm to play music ,where he meets Morgan one day on the beach. As Morgan and Colby get to know each other we are introduced to Beverly

Once we met Beverly I was so so confused but in the end of the book it all ties together.

This book doesn't at first give the happily ever after we are use to it ends different and i appreciate it ! Love this book will be buying the hard copy

Appropriately named, Sparks' Dreamland's mesmerizing tale weaves between dream and reality. Colby's life is given a brief interlude to perform in Florida. While there, he meets Morgan and her passion for life makes him want more than for what he's settled.

A dual-linear timeline introduces Beverly and her son fleeing Beverly's husband. While that section felt out-of-sync, rest assured the stories will merge. Unlike Spark's previous novels, he hints that real life can be scarer than nightmares. If we're forced to daily relive the past, how can we move on from tragedy?

Thank you to #NetGalley and the publisher for the early edition of #Dreamland in exchange for an honest review. This haunting story will stay with me long after finishing the novel. While the book is confusing at times, at its core, the beauty of love is that it shines through our defenses and loves passionately despite flaws.

Dream a little dream of me….

Once again Nicholas Sparks had me hook, line, and sinker! I flew right through the pages of his upcoming novel DREAMLAND.

The book is divided up into alternating sections, allowing two stories to unfold until they unbelievably collide into one.

The story starts with Colby, a farmer from North Carolina, who is taking some much needed vacation time in St. Pete’s Beach, Florida. There only for a break and the chance to play a few musical gigs at a local beach bar, his life is turned upside down when he meets the beautiful and talented Morgan.

While Colby and Morgan are busy falling in love, we meet Beverly. Beverly’s life is on a very different trajectory, as both she and her young son are on the run from her abusive husband.

Part of the reason I flew through this book so fast is because I desperately wanted to know how these two seemingly different storylines were going to come together as one. Let me just say, it’s a rollercoaster of emotion where Nicholas Sparks makes your heart grow three sizes, only to rip it out, then put it back together again.

Also, I was smiling so big over the fact that Colby and Morgan’s first date is kayaking where they see manatees. The first date I had with my boyfriend was also kayaking in Florida, and although we didn’t see manatees the first time, we did the second time around!

Although you will have stay patient until Fall is just about ready to move in before you can read DREAMLAND, believe me when I say it’s a book worth the wait! Look for it to hit shelves on September 20th!

Thank you to Random House and Netgalley for allowing me the opportunity to read a digital ARC!

Dreamland by Nicholas Sparks, set to come out in September, is one of those love-at-first-sight stories Sparks is known for. The king of romance novels combines the central love story with the peril of an abused wife and her son as they flee their home to make a second start.

While Colby Mills manages his aunt’s farm in Washington, North Carolina, he has found time to follow his real passion – music – by taking a short gig in St. Pete Beach, Florida. Not only does Colby cover the songs of others, but he also writes and performs his own songs.

He is immediately fascinated upon meeting Morgan Lee, who is on vacation in St. Pete with girlfriends before she takes on Nashville to find her way in the music business. The two are wildly attracted to each other and bond over music, but they have two different life paths that they realize will keep them apart.

Meanwhile, Beverly and her son Tommie are starting over in a small town near Chicago. With little money and no car, Beverly manages by skipping meals for herself, saving most of the food for her growing first grader, and walking everywhere she needs to go. After just a few days of feeling safe, Beverly crumbles after discovering her husband has found them because while she was out, he has planted a pair of shoes she did not bring with her in the closet of her getaway home and has apparently picked up Tommie at his new school as the boy does not come home on the bus.

Only a master storyteller like Nicholas Sparks could bring these two tracks together in a surprising and artful way. One of the world’s most beloved writers, all of his books have been New York Times bestsellers. He started his career with The Notebook in 1996, and many of his novels have been made into movies. Sparks frequently sets his stories in North Carolina where he lives.

My review will be posted on Goodreads starting May 15, 2022.

I would like to thank Random House Publishing Group and NetGalley for providing me with an ARC in return for an objective review.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2 #dreamlandbook @nicholassparks

Dreamland was a story that followed 2 very different storylines until they eventually merge together. I feel like I wish they weren’t so different (one was very light and happy, and one very dark). I was surprised by the ending and I feel like the author did a good job of clearing things up. I don’t want to give too much away because this one is very suspenseful and less of a romance than some of his other books.

Thank you @netgalley and @randomhouse for the arc in exchange for my honest opinion. #dreamland #bookstagram #arc #nicholassparks

I have read nearly every book Nicholas Sparks has written, and I continue to come back to them.

This story follows Colby, who once dreamed of becoming a musician, but instead took over his family farm in North Carolina. While on vacation in Florida, he meets Morgan, a young singer with her heart set on Nashville. As they begin writing music together, Colby wonders if he gave up on his own dream too easily. Meanwhile, Barbara is on the run from an abusive husband, with her young son Tommie. She knows, with every decision she makes, she must cover her tracks, or he could find them. As Colby and Morgan discover a pull to one another that is too strong to deny, Beverly faces the possibility that her fears have caught up to her. When their paths collide, tough decisions must be made. Will Colby and Morgan’s love be enough when reality sets in?

I particularly love how Sparks writes characters with such depth, details scenes so well you feel as if you’re there, and perfectly balances suspense with romance. Dreamland is yet another installment where he has done this all wonderfully. I was totally engrossed in this storyline from page one and found myself not wanting to put it down until all the pieces fell together. A beautiful story, and I give it five stars.

Every time I think Nicholas Sparks cannot take over my life and destroy it with his next book he does. This book wrecked me completely. I had no idea how it tied together until the reveal. I was so immersed in these characters and this story, I neglected my day to day life to find out how it ends. What a powerful story from one of my absolute favorite authors. I will never not allow him to wreck me!

Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read and review this book. All opinions are my own.

Dreamland is in keeping with the Sparks brand, in that there's the North Carolina thread and overall coastal/beachy feeling and a male protagonist with humble roots who falls in love with a girl who is seemingly very much his opposite, yet they wind up falling deeply in love and face major hurdles in order to be together.

Nicholas Sparks is so heavily entrenched in contemporary romance, in books and films, that it didn't fully register with me until I'd finished that this was the first of his books I've read! I have to say, I was surprised by the simplicity of the writing, as I had expected it would be far more sophisticated. Instead, Sparks relies not on beautiful prose to elevate the story, but on a sort of clear, proletarian, relatable way of storytelling. It's not pretentious at all, and it is in keeping with how Colby would likely write in real life. The relationship between Colby and Morgan really comes alive off the page-- although I agree with the other reviewer who thought Colby deserved better than Morgan. While she's smart and ambitious, there's something removed about her that makes her far less likable than him. I much preferred their story to the parallel story, of Beverly and her son. I knew where that was going, in terms of who she was, although it took me longer to figure out the next twist in her story.

I really liked the St. Pete Beach setting, as that's basically my hometown, and I could really feel the atmosphere and see the 'Dreamland' in which the characters fall in love. I also really liked the Star is Born vibe, and think this could be a really beautiful movie.

I have always been a huge fan of Nicholas Sparks. This story takes place in two parts- the story of Beverly and the story of Colby. Beverley is running from an abusive husband with her son. Colby is a farmer who has taken a much needed vacation and meets a woman who sparks life into him that he’s never felt before. The convergence of the two stories was so unexpected. Had a different feel than his previous stories, but I feel like that was because it literally felt like I was reading two separate stories for 90% of the book and I didn’t see how they were going to come together. Loved the real world struggles and awareness it will lead to but don’t want to give anything away!!

Nicholas Sparks is back! While I’ll admit I haven’t been in love with many of his recent books, this one is right up there with Safe Haven for me. I originally just really wanted to read it because I heard part of the book takes place in St. Pete Beach, but the story is what really captured my heart. I will say that I’m impressed with all the Florida details that were correct, but I’m even more obsessed with the love story that takes place. Do yourself a favor and preorder this book now because it’s a must-read!

For the first time ever, I was not “wowed” by a Nicholas Sparks book. I struggled to connect to any of the main characters - Beverly, Colby or Morgan. It may be because I am so much older than they are written & don’t relate to the TikTok generation well. The story just seemed to drag for me & I felt the romance between Colby & Morgan fell flat - it lacked the magic of a typical Sparks couple. I also felt the end was rushed, once Colby landed back home. Morgan was all of a sudden famous & they split up & were back together in a matter of pages. Overall, I felt “Dreamland” really lacked depth & the characters were shallow. Not my favorite Nicholas Sparks novel.
