It's everything you want a Nicholas Sparks book to be, which is so valuable during this busy holiday season when you need to settle in, grab a Sparks book and get lost in it. It's as good as my favorite Sparks book, even without the life-changing, iconic, quotable moments, but here is a solid, immersive story that carries you along until the last, sadly parting moments. Pick this one up and keep it nearby for when real life is not as dreamy as this. It really is a balm to a weary world of narratives (fictional and real-life.)

Nicholas Sparks used to be one of my favorite romance writers. I feel like unfortunately he’s not for me anymore. I enjoyed this book, but I didn’t love it. It felt like the same as another one of his books I’ve read. I felt like the two story lines in this book didn’t match up or make sense together. I also felt like the book was a little slow. I think this book just wasn’t for me. I know others loved it, so I recommend checking out their thoughts on it!

Thank you Netgalley for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.

I’m still trying to process this one for me. I read every single Nicholas Sparks book as it comes out. I haven’t read all of his earlier writings but I am working on getting to it all. Anyway, I am usually blown away with all his books but this ending was very mild. The endings usually all leave me bawling my eyes out and this one also did not do that. I did like the story and it did have a little twist. I would recommend others to read it overall.

I will always read Nicholas Sparks's novels, no matter what they are about. I feel like they've just been part of my life for a long time, ever since I read The Notebook in college. His latest, Dreamland, had an interesting sounding concept and I was curious as to how the two storylines would intersect.

This novel was good overall. It took a while to warm to but then it got interesting when I reached Beverly's part. Her story was the one I was really into. I liked Colby and Morgan together, but their conversation didn't really feel natural to me and there was a lot of minutiae going on. After a while, things got more interesting with them, but it took until I was way further into the book to really invest in their story. I still liked Dreamland more than Sparks's previous two novels but not as much as the earlier ones he's written, such as The Rescue or A Bend in the Road.

Movie casting suggestions:
Colby: Colin Ford
Morgan: Lola Tung
Beverly: Brie Larson

Dreamland is a powerful novel about risking everything for a dream—and whether it’s possible to leave the past behind. A love story you’ll never forget.

As with all novels written by Nicholas Sparks, this will scream talent to you. This author is known for writing the most beautiful and gripping novels, ones that leave you exhausted by your own reeling emotions. I feel like every single word written was perfectly crafted and deliberate, yet was done in such a way that the reading still flowed easily, but in a way that it was easier to become absorbed completely in the characters, the scenes, the story. This book was so emotionally moving for me and I was brought to tears. I can’t recommend this book enough or say the right words to truly convey how much I loved it. Be ready for what I am sure will be a national bestseller and a movie one day. We all know the book is always better so read this one now before the movie is made (mark my words, it will happen).

Another epic book from the talented Mr. Sparks. I enjoyed this one very much. Thank you for the opportunity to read it!

When I started reading this book, I had trouble connecting how Colby and Beverly would bring the storyline together. When I would finish a Beverly part, I would quickly read the Colby part to get back to see what was going on with Beverly. The struggles Beverly faced are real-life for so many. This is definitely a book I will be recommending to others!

Nicholas Sparks has a way of capturing you in the middle of a book and it leaves you wanting more. Colby is that country farmer who finally takes a vacation from things. He meets Morgan, this young beautiful college graduate. They connect over music and it’s like love at first sight. During the week Morgan and Colby are falling and writing music we meet Beverly. She’s running from an abusive husband to save herself and her son Tommy. Things start to go bad for Beverly and we see how all the lines cross. It was a beautiful book that brought me to tears, just like all Nicholas Sparks books do.

What a departure from Nicholas Sparks' usual novels. Two different storylines, how they fit together! What a great plot twist!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Dreamland by Nicholas Sparks
I’m always so excited to see a new novel from this author.
I’ve read every book he’s written and seen every movie.
This book was different. As I was reading I truly felt like I was reading two different books.
Beverly is a young mother, who is trying to escape her abusive ex-husband with her child.
Colby, Beverly‘s brother is a farmer who takes time off to vacation in Florida and play music in a bar. He meets Morgan and they kick things off. I enjoyed watching Colby’s and Morgan’s relationship blossom but I also enjoyed Beverly‘s chapters. Her character was well developed and truly had a lot of depth. When the two stories finally connect,it makes it impossible to put down until you finish. It was shocking to say the least. I always prepare myself for a sad ending with every one of his books, but this time things work out.
Thanks to Random House and Netgalley for the ARC of this book.

"There's a place that I know
Where only you and I can go
Far from the darkness of the past
Where love can bloom at last

Hold on to Dreamland
Forever, not just today
Someday Dreamland will be ours
Hold fast, don't fill away"

Nicholas Sparks is famous for his romances set in North Carolina, but his most recent book Dreamland is a bit different than the others I've read. First of all, Dreamland is narrated by two separate characters that we don't know until the very end how they're connected. Secondly, the book is set in both North Carolina and Florida. And lastly, there are mystery and suspense notes in this book that often resemble a crime thriller book.

One of the narrator's is Colby who always wanted to be a singer/songwriter but ended up inheriting the family farm and put his dreams aside. His family wanting to give him a break, convince him to accept a temporary gig singing in St. Pete’s Beach where he meets Morgan, a dancer/singer with dreams of making it big in Nashville, and they have a whirlwind romance. The other narrator is Beverly, a mom who ran away with her son from her abusive husband, and tries to start her life from scratch with fake new identities.

I typically don't do too good with these romances as I often find them a bit on the cheesier side for my taste, but this book has a good balance between the two narrators. Colby and Morgan have one of those classic romances where they fall in love really fast and know that they're meant-to-be from the start, but Sparks does a great job of adding unexpected twists, and Dreamland is no different.

I will admit that this was a bit slow for me. Nicholas sparks is a fantastic writer and I enjoyed reading this book.

I could not get into this book. It was so incredibly slow. As a reader that has tons of books on my TBR shelf, I need a book that will capture my attention from the start. I tried to read this book 2 different times, and on both occasions, I found my mind wandering and not being able to focus because it seemed like nothing was happening.

Dreamland by Nicholas Sparks is told in dual perspectives. In the first perspective you have Colby who is an inspiring musician who works on a farm. In the second perspective is told by Beverly who runs away from her abusive husband with her 6 year old son.

As I read this book I tried and tried to figure out how these two stories were going to intertwine. I have read all of Mr Sparks books and I can’t remember another time that he has done this so I was surprised by this read.

I really enjoyed both perspective but felt like in the one It was a little to insta love.

Thank you Netgalley and Random House for a copy of this book for an honest review.

This was another typical Nicholas Sparks book. I will say I did not figure out the plot until after 50% through and kicked myself for not being able to figure it out sooner. So it was enjoyable and I would recommend it to anyone who loves a Sparks romance.

Sparks keeps us guessing as we alternate between chapters on this one. The stories seem completely unrelated until they finally blend together in a way that will probably surprise most readers. At the heart of his newest book is his trademark love story, but this one dives deeper with its alternating story. I don’t want to say too much because I don’t want to give anything away, but once again, Sparks has us completely enthralled from start to finish. Thank you to Random House and NetGalley for an ARC of this book.

This is my first Nicholas Sparks novel and I enjoyed it but didn't love it. I am not sure that I believed the relationship between Morgan and Colby. It felt to good to be true. When Beverly's POV came up I didn't like it. It would take me out of the budding romance between Morgan and Colby. I felt Beverly's pov was not needed in the book.

Wow. I’ve always loved Nicholas Sparks books, and this one was no different. He’s an incredibly talented romance writer that just makes you understand the couples relationship so effortlessly. He’s obviously got quite the knack at writing romance at this point.
This book offered a dual story-line, flipping between two separate storylines and lives. I was absolutely blown away at how they connected in the end! I definitely did not predict it, and was happily surprised at how well it worked. Many of my irritations and frustrations were solved in the final chapter as crucial pieces of information were shared at the end.
I thought I was going to be so angry with the ending of the book, but I was actually pretty happy. I just wish I could get a “five years later” snapshot to see what’s happening in the future of everyone’s lives.
Overall, this was a very easy and enjoyable read that went by quickly! Before I knew it, I was 75% finished but it felt like I had just started! If you’re a NS fan, you’ll love this one as well!

I am a Nicholas Sparks fan through and through, have read every single one of his novels and have loved each one of them. Dreamland is not exception. He is able to put heart and soul into every story making each their own with a sort of uniqueness that only true storytellers know how to deliver.
Dreamland is a story of love and heartbreak and delivers just what most are looking for.
