Apollo Salvatoir: Shā-Shǔ The Dragon is a great middle-grade/YA book about a kid named Apollo who is basically abandoned in a strange place. After he finds a school of some sort the real story starts to unfold. I thought the characters were very well-written, primarily Apollo and his mentor at the school. The story is fast-paced and keeps your interest making for a quick read. At times the dialogue was in Chinese with no translation or clue into what was being discussed, I did skip over those parts after a while. The story itself is told from two points, Apollo and his friend Ling, I found Apollo's journey much more enjoyable. I enjoyed the little historical tidbits at the start of each chapter letting us see a bit more into Sha Shu./Apollo. This should be a big hit in the middle-grade crowd.
