Absolutely adorable picture book! My 3 year old daughter loved the pictures as it combines two of her favorite things, mermaids and babies. My only complaint is that I wish it was longer. What a beautiful book!

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is a beautifully illustrated book with colorful and interesting pictures. The story on the other hand is neither fun to listen to or very interesting.

This is a tender precious bedtime story presented in board book form that is sure to lull little ones to sleep. It features mer-moms and mer-babies and the love that they share together.

“ Now the sun is dipping low
It’s time to go to bed.
Swaddled tight in seaweed wraps
They rest their sleepy heads.”

The illustrations are gentle and beautiful. You can almost hear the gentle waves and feel the seal kisses…a perfect calm, tranquil ending to a busy day. This book is from the creator of "The Book of Selkie" and "Wildflower" and "She Dreams of Sable Island." I love it and highly recommend it!

A short, sweet, diversely populated bedtime story for your mermaid lover. Perfect for 1-3 year olds, swings a bit on the young side, but mermaid obsessed older children might still enjoy.

A sweet little book showing mer-moms and mer-babies preparing for bedtime. The beautiful illustrations create a feeling of peace, love, warmth, and harmony with nature. The mer-babies and mer-moms are shown to be multi-racial with a range of skin and hair colours, which will surely appeal to young readers from diverse backgrounds.

This was a sweet book! The illustrations were cute and the text is short enough to read to a baby. I liked all the baby merpeople!

Mermaids Lullaby by Briana Corr Scott is a very artistically detailed little book about mermaid children getting ready for bed.

I adored the art in this. It was so beautiful. I’m definitely gonna find myself going back to study the way the artist drew the people and the water. It was memorizing.

The story too was also very cute, I can imagine little children with a love of the ocean would definitely enjoy this.

Mermaid’s Lullaby has really beautiful imagery and lyrical but simple language.

I think it would be good for children in preschool and kindergarten in the very early stages of word recognition and learning to read.

Very short, and perfect for a quick bedtime story. I would have liked to see just a few more pages, but it’s good for kids who fall asleep the minute their head hits the pillow.

In all honesty, I expected much more of this, considering my previous experience with the creator's work. This is just a couple of pages of calming incidental detail, as mer-mummies take their babies in their arms for the night, but in bringing in rhymes from the second spread on all it does is show that the first spread lacks one, and in bringing in hand lettering and suchlike on the last image it again forces us to ask 'why's it switched into being like that, now it's all but over?!'. It can look pretty, but before now I'd have said this artist's work bloody well definitively DOES look pretty, and the mer-milfs look just too coy for something that could have had old-school, Victorian charm, elegance and maternal beauty dripping from it. I'm sure it might still do a job, but I can only report the disappointment in this feeling average.
