Scaredy Squirrel is always a huge hit in our house. Our son, who had several medical issues as a younger baby has found this book helpful in exploring his own fear about visiting doctors. A comedic and helpful book.

Scaredy Squirrel is at it again, he is anxious about going to the doctor for some aches he has been having, and
In true Scaredy form he “prepares” for his visit. This provides young readers with a teachable moment to overcome fears such as doctor visits, the importance of caring for your health, and facing your own fears. I love Scaredy Squirrel and his antics, and this one did not disappoint!

Thank you to NetGalley and Penguin Random House Canada for the opportunity to review this book. It was a delight.

What's a squirrel to do? Scaredy has a few aches and pains, but is oddly enough, scared to see the doctor for the first time. Scaredy prepares as only he can for his ordeal. And unfortunately causes a little panic amongst the other patients after he's discovered (despite his disguise!)

Thankfully, the vet is sympathetic, and the visit goes well. Only thing is, Scaredy has to return in a month for a flea shot! Oh no!

I love watching Scaredy deal with each new thing in his life, whether meeting new friends, or opening a mysterious box. Scaredy overprepares, and psyches himself up, often to the point of immobility, but discovers, like his readers, that daily life can be much less scary than one believes.

Of course the illustrations are charming and full of energy and humour, and I can't wait to see what Scaredy does next.

Thank you to Netgalley and to Penguin Random House Canada for this ARC in exchange for my review.

Myself and my students are big fans of Scaredy Squirrel and love following along with all of Scaredy's adventures. Scaredy preparing to visit the Doctor (Vet) is a relatable experience that causes many people of all ages to feel nervous. The bright and engaging picture book allows reader to connect to this feeling and wonder what's going to happen as it progresses.

I always love Scaredy Squirrel books! I’ve been a huge fan of Melanie Watt for years, since the very first Scaredy Squirrel book, and I think I’ve read every one that’s come out!

This one felt a bit short to me, like, not as much content on each page. But it was still fun. Will definitely read this one to my kids.

Always so much fun to read about everyone's favourite squirrel. Scaredy Squirrel is about to visit the vet for the first time. He has put in extensive efforts to stay healthy in every possible way so he never has to go. What happened this time, and what will Scaredy do at the vet's office? .

We love Scaredy Squirrel in our house and this new story didn't disappoint! Love having relatable books for little ones to understand - brings about an easy discussion of mindfulness and how to handle worries. 3 year old loved the happy ending and wants to do squirrel yoga now, haha! Thank you Penguin Random House Canada, Tundra Books, and NetGalley for the eARC!

We are big fans of the Scaredy Squirrel series in our house. Delighted to see a title that deals with visits to the doctors. As the mother of a child with a serious health condition, finding a way of talking about a topic such as regular trips to the doctor in a fun, relaxed way is vital. The illustrations in this book are perfect- simple but able to communicate what is happening for a small child. The same can be said for the text. The section focusing on mindfulness was a great addition and my little boy laughed out loud at the page set in the doctor’s waiting room. I will be recommending this book to other parents as well as the play therapists in the hospital our son attends. A fun book to help children overcome their fears of the doctor’s surgery!

Another cute book in the Scaredy Squirrel series.
This is my first time reading one as I don’t have kids but I have 2 young nephews
This book could help them deal with any anxiety they may feel towards doctors offices and hospitals.
Great idea

Great book. I love how the author gives ideas to kids (and parents too!) on what to do when you begin to feel panicky. My 4 year old loved it!

Melanie Watt brings us another great addition to Scaredy Squirrel's adventures. Scaredy Squirrel Visits the Doctor is perfect for the nervous child that needs some support to visit the doctor. It explains why Scaredy Squirrel has to go visit the doctor and what the check-up process is, this is comforting and funny as Scaredy Squirrel always brings the laughs in its adventures.

I love Scaredy Squirrel and this story did not disappoint. Scaredy Squirrel can be used as a starting point for many PSHE discussions as well as standing alone as a fun story with perfect illustrations which add to the story.

I love Scaredy Squirrel, he spends all his time worrying (quite rightly with a visit to check out his health), avoiding and then finally experiencing and realising that the experience wasn't so bad after all. I love the checklists that are created and the illustrations - well - fabulous!!!

Love this! Just like her previous books, this one is guaranteed to be a hit. Going to the doctor can be a scary event for a child. Seeing scaredy squirrel go to the vet may help calm some nerves. Great content and illustrations. Will be purchasing for our library!
