Who would have thought that finding a piece of paper at the supermarket with someone else's bucket list on it could change your life? Lydia Grey's life was going nowhere, she was still in love with her estranged husband & wanted him back. The chance meeting of him with his new girlfriend & finding the bucket list in the same supermarket sparked a motivation she didn't know she had.
Loved the characters in this book. Lydia's family was amazing & made me laugh. The book flowed beautifully & the ending was perfect. A real feel-good read. Enjoy!

I must admit, I had quite low expectations when I went to begin this book, as I felt it’d just be another chic lit and it’d be an ok read to while away the time, but not that interesting, but how wrong I was. I couldn’t put this book down, and sadly ended up so lost in the story I didn’t get around to doing things I’d planned with my day, as I was so hooked. The story revolves around Lydia, whose husband one day randomly decides he’s leaving her out of the blue, and her trying to get some sort of life. She comes across someone’s bucket list, and initially starts to do it because she thinks it’ll help her win her husband back before the divorce goes through, but in the end it becomes about her finding herself. I really loved this story, and all the characters in it (apart from Adam who we’re not meant to like) and would highly recommend this book to everyone

Thanks to the publishers and Netgalley for an early review copy.

I loved reading this book. The characters were all lovable Lydia, Jake, Ollie, Aga, Tosh, Mila, etc, all will be rememberable.

The message that this book gave, we can relate to and that is to keep those in your life that like you for who you are, and let those go that try to change you. The book had everything, adventure, tears, love as well as many laughs.

So, if you want to read a book that will make you want to go on an adventure, this is the book for you.

I recommend this book.

Super cute, a little cheesy for me but I think a lot of people will enjoy this book. Anyone who loves the idea of bucket lists and adventure will enjoy this book immensely.

This book was highly relatable on so many levels. When Lydia thinks her life is over because of POS husband who cheats and has a pretty new girl thing, she embarks on an adventure when she finds a bucket list by Lily Bennett at the bottom of a shopping cart. She also meets a handsome stranger named Jake. She definitely had a millions times more chemistry with Jake than she ever did with her ex-husband, who did not deserve her.

Reasoning for a lower ranking? Even though Lydia's story is relatable, I do not know why she felt like she needed an alias "Lily" to give herself permission to start over/find herself. The book also got predictable in some parts. I did love the ending and felt it was suiting.

Still recommended but not my favorite.

What a lovely, sweet, funny book. When Lydia finds someone else’s bucket list in a supermarket trolley she is possibly at her lowest ebb, so surprising everyone (including herself) she decides to tick off all the items.

A beautifully uplifting book.

This book was cute, I love my little hags. It was a lot of fun to see Lydia grow as a person and become her best self. I loved her relationship with daughter and the rest of her family.

I received an arc through netgalley.

All it takes for Lydia Grey to reinvent herself is finding a bucket list by Lily Bennett in a supermarket trolley.
This witty story had me laughing and crying with the characters as they tried to get their lives back in order.
I loved the setting and even though I have lived in Yorkshire for most of my life I had not thought that Pickering had a special connotation.
A great read and a great bucket list.

A different sort of bucket list novel! Lydia's had a tough time- her husband has left her, her daughter Ollie is off on her travels, and her mother is, well her mother and she's living with her. Nothing is going right so when she finds Lily's bucket list on the bottom of her shopping cart, well, she's found a purpose. And then she finds Jake on line and he, despite his own issues (and the fact that he thinks she's Lily) agrees to do the list with her. There's nothing especially outstanding about the list but it's challenging enough to make Lydia think. And the relationship with Jake grows nicely, Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. A good read.

Lily Bennett’s Bucket List by Katherine Dyson is a fun romantic comedy with a friends-to-lovers trope that I enjoyed very much. This uplifting and heartwarming story is sure to steal your heart.

When Lydia Grey meets her ex-husband and his new girlfriend in the shopping center, her heart is once again shattered. Ex husband, Adam was the love of her life, and she never saw the end coming. Now, back single again, every date she’s been on has been a disaster. When she spies Adam and his new girlfriend in the store she ducks out but finds a “bucket list” at the bottom of a shopping trolley. Determined to change the trajectory of her life, she vows to complete Lily’s bucket list.

After meeting Jake on a dating app, they decide to meet in person at a pub, the first thing he notices is the bright pink bucket list that Lydia has been studying. He immediately assumes that Lydia is the Lily of the bucket list, and Lydia doesn’t correct him. They decide the stay friends only, and he agrees to help her complete the bucket list. But as they complete each item on the list, they grow closer and closer together.

I enjoyed the bucket list tasks very much. Since it wasn’t Lydia’s list to begin with, she wasn’t fully attached to the tasks on the list, so it was hilarious to see her trying to do things she didn’t really want to do in the first place. Jake was a wonderful partner for her tasks. Jake is also hiding something and he’s reluctant to start a relationship. This is a slow-burn romance, with two reluctant participants, who become friends long before they become lovers.

I have mixed feelings about the actual premise of the book. Lydia doesn’t tell Jake that she isn’t Lily Bennett until much later in the book. I’m not a fan of relationships that start out with deception, and I thought that she didn’t have a great reason for not telling Jake who she really was early on in the book. I also wondered how she was able to keep her real identity secret from Jake for such a long time.

However, deception aside, I really liked Lily and just adored Jake. Together they made a believable and lovely couple and I was rooting for them throughout the book.

I recommend Lily Bennett’s Bucket List to anyone who enjoys romance and women's fiction. I received a complimentary copy of this book. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Lily has left a bucket list which Lydia finds in a trolley! Lydia starts to meet the challenges with the assistance of Jake who mistakes get for Lily.

Wow Lilys list was just what Lydia needed to break her lack of self esteem and self worth that her husband had created during their 20 years of marraige. It was brilliant to see Lydia growing and becoming the person she used to be in this story including her flaws. The characters were believable in this story and were a typical close knit family. Everyone needs a bucket list to push us to do things we normally wouldnt. I will be reading more from this writer and will definitely be recommending to others. What a fantastic read! Give me a minute while I compose my very own bucket list!

If 2020 taught us anything, it was that being forced to stay inside is no way to live a life. As a result, I have spent the last two years reevaluating what makes me happy and what I truly want. Lily Bennett’s Bucket List by Katherine Dyson was a nice wake up call to get back out in the world and start living!

I loved all of the characters in the story! They were definitely a motley crew, but boy were they each so fun to read about! I especially loved the vulnerability represented in Lydia. She was so accessible to me as a reader and taught me a lot.

Signs of a good book are it will stay you with you long after you have read it and a call to action. Lily Bennett’s Bucket List is one I will be reflecting on often as I check off my very own list!

Special thanks to NetGalley.com and Harper Collins UK/ One More Chapter for allowing my to read this book in exchange for my honest feedback.

Lydia picks up someone else’s bucket list and with her daughter’s insistence finds Jake to do it with her. Her first marriage ends in divorce and so the will she won’t she storyline starts. Jake thinks Lydia is the someone else Lilly until eventually she comes clean. Will leave you to find out the ending. I will say the middle bit I found frustrating as I just wanted to know the end so you need to persist. Thanks to Katherine Dyson and your publisher. Thanks also to NetGalley for the advanced copy.

I wanted to like this book, but the main character made it difficult to do so. She came across as a whiny, entitled 40 year old woman who should have been more mature than to hide behind a jar of pickles when her ex walked by with his new girlfriend. More mature than to co-opt someone else's bucket list. More mature than to lie to a potential partner about her identity. Arrgghh....way too much immaturity for me.

I've seen that others absolutely love this book, so maybe its me. I'm glad that others found it great, I just didn't.

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book, but my opinions are my own.

This was a decent read but I have to wonder what kind of adult woman Lydia Grey was to spend 1.5 hours to put on a full face of makeup and straighten her hair to go…climb a mountain. Ridiculous really. I tried to overlook it but she was just obsessed with appearances throughout the whole book, then complains about her ex husband being obsessed with her appearance. What?

It seemed more like Lydia’s daughter was parenting her rather than the other way around. Which was uncomfortable being as this is an almost 40 year old woman being parented by her 19 year old daughter.

Overall it wasn’t a bad read, I’m not sure if Jake should have forgiven Lydia for basically lying to him for months. The man didn’t even know her real name and she had sex with him. How is that ok? Very odd.

What a lovely light-hearted romance novel.
Lydia is almost 40 and living in her parents’ spare room after her husband of 20 years left her. She feels that life is passing her by when she discovers a bucket list in a shopping trolley. She has never done any of the things on the list and decides to try and complete the 9 tasks herself in the hope of winning back her husband.
I loved the setting of this book, it’s refreshing to have a romance not set in London or Cornwall and there are some lovely scenes set in and around Leeds. The supporting characters are also brilliant. Lydia’s family and friends especially her mother are vividly portrayed and there are some great comic moments in the family scenes.
I really felt for Lydia as she tried to conquer her fears and complete the challenges. Her personal journey throughout the story is a lovely one as she discovers who she really is.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and definitely recommend it.

Lily Bennett's Bucket List by Katherine Dyson is an uplifting read that will put a smile on your face, and perhaps even motivate you to take more chances in your own life.

Lydia Grey is in need of a life change, a fact that comes into rather sharp focus when she runs into her ex with his gorgeous new girlfriend. The solution, it seems, lies at the bottom of a shopping cart with the discovery of a list. Assuming the role of the unknown, at least to her, Lily Bennett gives Lydia a chance to complete a bucket list that is not of her own making, but will take her far out of her comfort zone. But will telling her accomplice Jake who she really is, and is not, cause a fledgling relationship to come to a bitter end?

This was a lovely story to get lost in on a summer's afternoon, and I will look for more from this new to me author.

Many thanks to NetGalley and HarperCollins UK, One More Chapter for an ARC.
