I would like to thank Netgalley and Bookouture for an advance copy of The Trapped Ones, the fifth novel to feature Supervisory Special Agent Nikki Hunt of the FBI’s Minnesota office.

Sheriff Kent Miller of Stillwater asks for Nikki’s help at a crime scene where three people have been murdered and a fourth is barely clinging to life. The victims are David and Joan Weber, their son Bryce and Jessica Chandler. Jessica had been reported missing earlier in the week and her friends say she had little to do with Bryce, so why was she there? This is the first of many questions in a baffling crime investigation.

I thoroughly enjoyed The Trapped Ones, which is an engrossing read full of secrets and lies, twists and turns. The novel is told from Nikki’s point of view, so the reader can get stuck in to the narrative and interpret the facts alongside her. I didn’t get very far in my crime solving efforts so the resolution came as a surprise.

The novel starts with an inexplicable crime scene and widens from there. I wouldn’t want to be victim blaming, but actions have consequences and I was interested by how it pans out. I was fascinated by the scenario the author paints and while I would like to dismiss it as fiction, past events prove that it is all too realistic.

Despite the subject matter the novel is gripping. It has a fast moving plot with developments and reveals in every chapter, although interpreting them is more difficult. I like the way the author pulls it together, but gained no satisfaction from the resolution. This is one of those novels where nobody wins.

The Trapped Ones is a good read that I have no hesitation in recommending.

Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily. If you are a fan of whodunit type mysteries, you will thoroughly enjoy this book. The main character is a fantastic heroine, FBI Agent, Nikki Hunt. It is very obvious that she cares about her job and the victims of the crimes she investigates, which makes her a great agent. She is called to the scene of a brutal murder. There is one victim in the house that is barely alive. The weird part of this crime scene is the fact that the body of a young college student, Jessica Chandler, is found dead in the house, and she is a not a family member. She has been missing for a while, and her body is found in the family home of the Webers. They are an elite, wealthy family of lawyers and a seemingly happy family. The murders have all of the markings of a serial killer, but there is something sinister going on in this happy family home. The question remains why did the killer leave Bryce alive? You will be taken into a place where money can buy anything, including sweeping bad things under the rug for a price. There is definitely more at play in this situation than meets the eye. I was completely absorbed into the book as soon as I started. I need to go back and read the previous four books so I can more fully understand Nikki Hunt's story. However, you do not have to read the previous four books, as this story is definitely a stand alone novel, but if you are like me, you will WANT to go back and catch up on the life of Nikki Hunt. This was a great mystery right up until the mind-boggling ending with a vicious twist you will not see coming! I was completely shocked! I would classify this one an intense, suspense-filled mystery.

Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for the copy of The Trapped Ones. This series continues to grow and the story becomes better. Nikki and her partner are called to a triple homicide in a secluded home of an affluent family. The book will take you thru the twists and turns of frat life and the damage that is left behind. This book kept me turning pages and looking for the next plot twist. I am falling more and more for this series!

Nikki Hunt is back and trying to solve a triple homicide that just keeps getting more and more involved.
A college girl missing.
A college boy in a coma.
A college fraternity with deep secrets.
A family with deeper secrets.
This is what Agent Hunt does best, profile, investigate and solve.
This one has all the twists and turns and things I couldn’t see coming.
One of my all time favorite series, when I see a new book in this series it immediately gets read!
This series just keeps getting better and better.

Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for the copy of The Trapped Ones. This is the second book I have read in this series and I really enjoyed it. The story was great and a real puzzle. I loved how the prologue tied in with the rest of the book and I wish there had been an epilogue instead of one quick final paragraph. Nikki continues to be a great character and I love getting to learn more about her. If you’re looking for a strong female character Nikki is it.

I have a few authors that I absolutely love and Stacy Green is one of them! I love reading the latest shocking instalment in Nikki Hunt’s life. This is book 5 and I really do think readers should start at the beginning to get a true sense of why she is so determined to catch the bad guys!
A triple murder, with a fourth victim in a critical condition in hospital, there is very little to go on and each time new evidence is found, it makes it even harder to piece together!
I found it a little hurried at the end, and quite a short novel, but that is all the negatives!
All I can hope and pray for for the next instalment is we see more of dishy Rory!! I think we need to be seeing a wedding soon!!

Book 4 in the Nikki Hunt series another slam dung by Stacey Green!!!

When missing girl Jessica is found dead in the home of local swimming student Byrce who is also hunting on for dear life, his parents are dead also. Special agent Nikki Hunt is trying ti put the pieces all together because something isn't right here but with Bryce in intensive care its up to her and her team to work out what happened.

I love this series each book is as amazing as the next and the trapped ones is no different. With some hard issues discussed throughout the book including domestic violence and rape I think it's important to give a trigger warning. What Stacy does is write so well about these highly emotive subjects it is clear that she has done her research and for that I must applaud her.
What I enjoyed about this installment was how special agent Nikki Hunt us also left completely baffled. So as I was reading along side her pov I found I had no clue what had happened either, which is rare. I also had no idea why Jessica was in the house which was rather confusing but once we find out more about her history. Did Bryce kidnap her, was she ever even missing? What happened. As the story unfolded I found myself completely obsessed.

I love Nikki Hunt her story has been all go since the first book snd her return to her home town. Plus I love reading the blossoming relationship between Nikki and Lacey with Rory. Plus there's follow up regarding her ex's parents and their fight for custody of Lacey. It's interesting to read how the loss of her ex husband affects not only her but his parents and how Lacey is the only tangible thing they have left to fight for. So whilst Nikki is trying to work out this mass murder she is constantly worried that she is going to loose her daughter.

Stacy Green should be praised for taking some of her story content to highlight the injustices that happened witg the Stanford rapist case. It's clear that some cross cutting themes are taken from this tragedy and further broken down into reasons why high members of society get away with sexual assualts often. I will say I wasn't expecting this and did find it a tad trigger so please be warned. You can read the pain that comes off the page I was left at one point with this overwhelming feeling to hmhug everyone (well well almost everyone).
I honestly was at a complete loose for why Jessica was found dead at a fellow students family home why they were dead and why Bryce wasn't. When it was finally explained i was at a loose for words, because my mind was blown!!!

All in all I completely recommend this book and all the rest in the Nikki Hunt series that way you get a full picture of who she is and where her journey had lead her to where she is today. This is by favourite in the series and therefore this is obviously a 5* review. Cannot wait for book 5.

Thanks to Bookouture, Stacy Green and netgalley forbthe digital copy of the trapped ones in exchange for my fair and honest opinions

🏊Good but not my favorite in the Nikki Hunt series🤔

This story had plenty of twists and turns and I was kept in the dark about the murderer until the climax but it was probably my least favorite of the books I've read in the series. That could be in part because the earlier books had storylines more closely connected to Agent Nikki Hunt and the Minnesota landscape. Also, one of the victims and his friend were so morally unappealing that I was less invested in seeing justice done for the gruesome attacks.

Usually I prefer murder mysteries where the lead investigator's life is just a minor footnote to the case investigation but, for some reason, in this series I like to read more about Nikki Hunt's past and present personal life. There was some of that here but not as much part of the whole story as I'd have liked. And this book's setting could have been almost anywhere with a temperate climate and a college campus.

I was totally surprised by the outcome, something that's a big plus in my reading criteria, and the plot moves quickly. This was a good but not great read for me. I am not giving up on this Stacy Green series though because I love the main character.

Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for sharing a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.

This was my first book by Stacy Green but it won’t be my last. The characters were well written and fleshed out. The mystery kept me interested and guessing until the end. While it can be read as a stand-a-lone book I feel it would be better read in series order. I will definitely be going back to the start of the series and probably then reading Ms Green’s other books. Thanks to the publisher, author and NetGalley for the ARC

A digital ARC of this book was provided to me by NetGalley and Bookouture. The opinions are my own and freely given.

Warning, there is talk of rape, rape fantasies and domestic violence

FBI Agents Nikki Hunt and her partner Liam are called to the scene of a gruesome triple homicide with one victim clinging to life. One of the murdered victims has been missing for a few days and the agents and local detectives are trying to learn why she was there. The survivor is a star swimmer, son of a lawyer and member of the fraternity. The story shows the frat, wealthy and athletic and how some think they are above everyone else. Nikki is battling her ex-husband's parents for custody of her daughter, Lacey. That is in the back of her mind, so when she wants to work on the case, she knows she needs to be home for Lacey. I love the way Nikki and Liam can communicate without speaking. Detective Brenner is in charge at the local level. This is her first homicide. I really liked her, but she seemed to disappear towards the end. I enjoyed this book and as always, awaiting the next installment in this series. Thank you to NetGalley, Bookouture and Stacy Green.

Absolutely addicted to this series. This is book 5 of our FBI agent Nikki Hunt and I am all for many more. Right out of the gate we running, banging on the door, let me in. Then its one twisted ride as Nikki and her team assist Sheriff Millet in this mass murder. One twisted step forward, two back. This book hit so many different levels and brings to the fore front how the majority view them. It is a sad statement on us as people. There are athletes being pushed into doing more, being mores and the sense of entitlement. There is rape and the sense of shame and just whose fault is it, there is mental healthy issues and just plain and simple brutality. All of it is brought to light in one way or another weaving together this twisted tale of murder and the ending was another, whoa, didn't see that. Thank you Stacy Green, Bookouture and NetGalley for the arc. I freely volunteer my thoughts and opinions.

I've been really enjoying the Nikki Hunt series, and this one doesn't disappoint...I'd suggest reading some of the other books first are there are a couple of story-lines that carry through the books, but this is enjoyable on it's own as the author touches on the background of those lines without giving away too much. There are some great twists in this one that you really don't see coming!

Another exciting read in the Agent Nikki Hunt series!

I enjoyed the storyline and was kept guessing right until the end.

A strange triple homicide in a wealthy neighbourhood with a star university athlete as the lone survivor. The investigation leads Nikki to a frat house, where she finds more questions than answers. She must sort through the secrets and lies to find the murderer.
A fast paced, tense and twisty read that keeps you turning pages. This book focused more on the investigation with little about Nikki's family life with Lacey and Rory which was a bit unexpected. I really enjoyed the book and I can't wait for the next one.

Wow, what a great mystery/thriller. This series just gets better and better.
Nikki is called in to help investigate a triple murder, with a fourth victim hanging on in a coma. The pieces to this crime are all over the place. As the investigation goes on, more information comes forward and the victims are soon painted as villains. But who could have committed the actual crime? There seems to be a lot of facts being covered up, evidence missing, and suspects that go missing. As usual Nikki won't stop until everything is worked out the way it should.
This is a great series, the characters are awesome, and this plot kept me reading all night. Highly recommend.
I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This sounded extremely promising, but unfortunately the writing quality was so poor, I couldn't finish it. I am not sharing my review on Goodreads on that account. There's too many good books to slog through amateur writing.

This book is a continuatin of a series, and if you have read the others then you will definitely want to continue with this installment. These books are intriguing because Nikki has an intense personal backstory that impacts her police work often, and this is no exception. She is not only struggling to solve a murder, but she is also fighting a custody battle for her daughter after events in the previous novel.

This case was a puzzling one, and very intriguing to read as they dove into it. Lots of twists and turns and surprises. I would have liked a little more relationship scenes as they felt lacking from previous books, and they really help ground the story. Overall, a great installment in a great series.

One girl is missing. A mass murder or is it a serial killer? Can Nikki Hunt find the link and connect the dots?

When agent Nikki Hunt arrives at the crime scene she is warned it’s a bad one. With not one but three bodies it’s unclear what happened to the victims and with the heating turned high, and time of death difficult to work out, it looks like the killer knew what they doing.

As Nikki and her team delve deeper it’s clear not everyone they’ve spoken to is being honest, and with the one survivor in a coma and his odds not looking great, it’s down to them to dig deeper and see who is responsible.

I love this series of books so much and this one has proved to be just as good. From the start I was gripped and I really enjoyed trying to work out the who’s and whys along with Nikki and her team. There was plenty to keep you guessing with twists to take you in another direction just when you think you’ve got it all figured out but as usual, I didn’t guess. A really great book, I look forward to reading more about Nikki Hunt in the future.

Once again Stacy Green has come thru with another great story in the Nikki Hunt series! I think this one might be my favorite! In book 5 Nikki is called in to investigate a triple murder. Talk of a serial killer begins immediately but Nikki doesn't want to jump to any conclusions. And when she finds out one of the murder victims had previously been reported missing, things become more confusing. I loved the characters, I loved the twist and that ending, I did not see coming! Highly recommend!

Nikki Hunt has fast become one of my favorite female detectives and her creator, Stacy Green, is right up there with my top thriller/mystery writers!. This is the fifth book in the series and they just keep getting better.
When Nikki and her team are called in to assist with a multiple homicide case, right from the start nothing seems to add up...the puzzle pieces just don't quite fit and as they dig deeper into the victims it just seems to get more tangled.
This story has a lot of twists and an ending that you won't see coming.
Stacy always writes such strong characters that are well developed and believable. Her stories are always complex with lots of layers and totally enjoyable to read.
I feel that Nikki is just hitting her stride and I hope that there are many more books to come..
