This was everything you want in a psychological thriller. Fast paced from cover to cover, suspenseful and a totally addictive read.

Throughout the story there are twists, turns and red herrings to throw you off kilter. I was wrong as always about the ending, I'm definitely not detective material 🤣

A cleverly woven plot line and some fantastic characterisations made The Feud a highly enjoyable, entertaining read and I would highly recommend.

Meanwhile I'm off to add Gemma's back catalogue to my Goodreads TBR.

Many thanks to Rachel's Random Resources for my tour spot.

I have only recently came across Gemma Rogers in the last year. Wishing I had read her books sooner. But now I have read all of her books and each one I read gets better. So for me The Feud is the authors best one to date. I devoured it in a day.

Gemma writes story’s that are realistic which I can imagine happening. So in this story we meet Kay who is almost ran off the road by Simon Fox. Which starts The Feud between them off! You cannot help but will Kay along in this pulse racing gritty story. Talk about keeping me on the edge of my seat…..bloody brilliant this book is!

I loved Kay, she a mother trying to do what she thinks is right for her family. But with this story it shows how a right can make a wrong and things soon spiral out of control. This book is full of short snappy chapters with each one leaving you wanting more. I love the authors style of writing…..An entertaining, easy read which is so addictive! Once you start it you wont be able to put it down.

If you are looking for an exciting family based thriller this is the book for you I cannot recommend it enough.

Thank you to Rachel for inviting me to take part on this tour and to Boldwood books for a copy.

This was a great page turner once the action got going. With lots of little twists and turns along the way to keep you on your toes! I did initially find the build up a little slow and wondered if this was going to be something that I was going to like but once the action got going the pace picked up. I enjoyed getting to know the main character, Kay and felt that the character development was really well written. There were times towards the start of the book that I wasn’t sure if we were supposed to like Kay as she seemed extremely negative about everything. However, as we get to know more about her she became a character who I actually really felt sorry for. Her ‘out of character’ actions showed that she was not what everyone thought and standing up to the males who felt that they could intimidate and make her uncomfortable because of her gender is a topic that many women may be able to relate with. Full of suspense, in the second half of the book particularly, this thriller kept me guessing what new lengths, Simon would go to next!

"I was sick and tired of being pushed around by the opposite sex, overlooked, dismissed, and taken advantage of."

This is the story of Kay and what happens when she has finally had enough.

Everything about the day is going wrong. To start she's been taunted by her pompous soon to be ex-husband who recently left her for another woman, at work she is overlooked for a promotion she was guaranteed to a young up and comer who just happens to be a man half her age and with half her experience, and thinking things couldn't get any worse she is practically run off the road by some jerk in his flashy car. Having finally had enough she follows the jerk to his house where she gives him a good telling off. He, of course, dismisses her as a crazy person which only stokes the fire of her rage further.

A minor detail she may have wanted to consider is that he lives just up the street from her so they will likely cross paths again.

Instead, Kay returns home and decides a bottle or two of wine is what she needs to shed the stress of her day. One glass, two glasses, three glasses, four - when a thought pops into her head. Who did that jerk think he was talking to her like that anyways? It's time to teach him a lesson with a little petty vandalism.

Problem is she has no idea who she is up against and this guy isn't going to let her off the hook that easily. Did Kay just invite a psychopath into the lives of her and her children?

While this isn't the most original story it was a proper page-turner. It's a popcorn popper where you just have to know what's going to happen next and how low these people are willing to go. I liked Kay a lot. She's a great mom to her 16 year old twins, a good friend, and an excellent employee. This is a story of when someone who has always played by the rules, snaps in moment of weakness, and the repercussions that are felt from it. I felt the ending was perfectly befitting to the story. I will gladly check out more books by Gemma Roger! 4 stars!

Kay's life isn't turning out how she expected. Her husband has left her and her job isn't going well. Kay is fed up with the men around her and how they treat her.

Kay is driving when a fancy car cuts her off. She follows the car and gets into an argument with the driver, Simon. Little did she know this argument would set off a series of events that are quite disturbing for everyone involved.

I love the relationship Kay has with her best friend, Claire and her twin children. . Her friend is always there for her when she needs her. Everyone should have a Claire in their life.

Moral of the story: don't give in to the temptation for road rage. It's not worth it. Let it go.

Thanks to netgalley and Boldwood Books for the arc.

Brilliantly Written...........................

The Feud by Gemma Rogers is a brilliant thriller with some wonderful plot twists. A real unputdownable thriller with some thrilling details. Wonderfully written with some marvelous characters, the book is going to hook you up right from the beginning. Each page has a new action and I could not even realize that I have finished 355 pages in one sitting only.

The characters especially Kay is so good, that at a point I felt myself screaming in her favor. Kay's character is so real that you would have come across such women daily in your life. She portrays all those women who are fighting not only in personal life but also her professional life. Simon Fox's character also tops the plot.

I would, definitely give the book 5 stars. Thanks to Netgalley, Rachel's Random Resources and Boldwood Books for providing me an opportunity to read and review the book.

The Feud is a story that begins with Kay. At work she is passed over for a promotion, thanks to the misogynist good old boys club. Anger fuels her thoughts and her days going forward. One day she crosses paths with Simon Fox as he runs her off the road which only infuriates her further. Internalizing her rage for men belittling and undermining her after too much alcohol she decides to retaliate. This one act will change the course of her life.

An interesting book shows how you never know what the other person will do in response to your actions. This is a psychological thriller that is very fast paced and will keep you turning the pages.

It all started as a simple neighborhood dispute and quickly escalated from there. Kay is in the middle of a messy divorce from her husband Jonathan when she gets in a dispute with her neighbor Simon. It turns out Simon is not a man to be messed with.

I liked all the subplots in the book. Simon and Kay, Kay and Jonathan, Kay and work, Kay and her kids and her kids relationship with Jonathan. It kept the story very interesting. I loved Kay’s resourcefulness throughout the book. There were some parts I had trouble believing but overall it is a great book. I’ve read book by this author again and enjoy her style. I look forward to her next book.

"WOW—Clear you calendar and settle in with a cozy blanket to read this edge of your seat book!"–Books and Pens on Green Gables

Sometimes life is not great. And Kay's life right now is a perfect example. Her husband left her and has a much younger girlfriend. He keeps taking the twins on the weekends, the men she works with say inappropriate things, and coffee just got spilled down the front of her shirt. To top it off, she didn't get the promotion she worked hard for and deserved.

After the coffee incident, she leaves and decides to pick the twins up from school, only to be hemmed in by a fancy new vehicle and mocked by her out-of-the-house husband. Then the rude vehicle driver cuts her off in traffic, and they have a verbal shout-out by his driveway. Oh, yes-and they live near each other. UGH-How much can a gal take!

When Kay, fuming over her life and the most recent incidents, drinks too much, she decides to make a statement toward Mr. Fox, the rude driver/neighbor. No one will ever know!

Until she realizes there is a camera...but it's ok-she's hidden by the monster vehicle.

When a string of things starts to happen, Kay becomes scared of what Mr. Fox is capable of. And then he goes after her kids.

Kay won't give up. But neither will he.

"Wow-what a book! You won't be able to set it down!! So, so good. Great characters and a believable plot. Five big stars!"-Books and Pens on Green Gables

Book: The Feud
Author: Gemma Rogers
Publisher: Boldwood Books
Pub Date: May 10, 2022

At first I thought this was going to be so slow but I was wrong. It was a great read! I did enjoy the ending better than the beginning. I connected to all of the characters and felt every emotion they felt. I’m not going to lie I have felt the rage that Kay felt! I also loved her closeness to Claire and how that friendship never waivered. At times I didn’t care for some of the dialogue but still this is definitely a suspenseful book.

Thank you Boldwood Books and NetGalley for this sneak peak! Publication date is May 10, 2022.

I’d like to thank Boldwood Books and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read ‘The Feud’ written by Gemma Rogers in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

‘The Feud’ begins with a minor driving incident and an act of retaliation leading to the irrevocable changing of lives. Kay Massingham is on her way home from her job at Winston’s Transport when a man in an expensive car cuts her up at a roundabout. Kay retaliates by damaging his car and matters quickly escalate going from bad to worse until she fears for her safety and that of her teenage twins Ryan and Rachel.

The plot is extremely chilling with a cleverly thought-out storyline incorporating plenty of suspense, intrigue and twists and turns. I like the character of Kay who’s strong and ready to stand up for her rights and I’ve been so gripped by the story I’ve been unable to do anything today except read until I eventually got to the end and could breathe a sigh of relief. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this novel and despite Kay’s over-indulgence in alcohol I’m giving it a well-deserving five stars.

One little mistake and your life goes on a different course. Simon Fox is one deranged freak you do not want to mess with! This is one feud that gets out of hand rather quickly!

Just loved Kay and how she finally found her voice and stood up for herself. Simon is one sick twisted jerk who you will love to hate.

Such a fast paced fun read!

I loved this book by Gemma Rogers , just goes to show how the incidents of road rage can end up in these dangerous situations . I love the strong lady she is and the characters of her children , not so much the weak husband . Plenty of action in this book to have you up all night reading. I definitely recommend this book , 5 stars from me

This book was sent to me electronically for review by Netgalley. Leave out the unnecessary language, and the book is a story that could be true. Be careful confronting strangers...that seems to be one theme that is throughout this book...getting even another...family dynamics...divorce...career choices...friendship...themes that are part of this story written by a talented author. Frankly, none of the characters are that likable...they seem to be selfish, thinking only of themselves. One exception is the mom who does care about the welfare of her twins. The father well...that is another topic...This is a cannot put down book...what will happen next? Has someone been in the house? Is someone watching? Anger issues abound...what happened to giving others second chances??? I look forward to more books by this author.

A good thriller but not what I was expecting after reading this authors previous books. This one felt quite tame in comparison and more of a domestic thriller. That said, I really enjoyed the story and felt the characters were well developed.
