I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.

The Twilight Library is a beautiful watercolour picture book for children about a Librarian in the forest who calls put all the creatures and critters to listen to his nightly, woven tales before they go off to sleep.
The illustrations in this are so cute especially the bats!
There's no real story to this book but it would be a good one for bedtime as the pages are quite relaxing to view.
I received an online copy of this book and had to zoom in on the pages to read the text as it was very small. Hopefully it's much better in physical form.

This book is all about what the little monsters do while the witch librarian reads them a book at midnight. It is such a cute book with colorful pictures Great pros in a visit imagination. I truly enjoyed this book with my little one. Not only is it a good thing to show children the joy of the library through the monsters eyes but allow them at the same time till July 8th Ave., South. I was given this book by Nat Gally and I am leaving this review voluntarily please forgive any grammar or punctuation errors as I am blind and dictate my review but all opinions are definitely my own. #The twilight library, #Carmen Oliver, #NETGALLY

A charming bedtime picturebook filled with fantastical illustrations by Argentine illustrator Miren Asiain Lora. The subtly poetic rhythm will lull even your most rowdy audience members into a blissful dreamland.

Thank you to NetGalley and North South Books for the e-ARC of this title to read and review. I found this book to be the adorable kind of magical that I would have loved as a little one. Twilight is my favorite time of day, and I love that this was themed about the arrival of the animals who gather for the nighttime. The artwork is really great, and it captures the enchanting nature of the story perfectly. I did find that the book seemed to be over very quickly though, that the story was just really getting going and every critter had arrived and then suddenly we were whisked away. Maybe it has to do with the dreamlike nature of falling asleep just as you want to stay present.

Well, this book just wasn't a hit with me. I didn't get the gist of the story and I read it at least three times to see if anything clicked. But nothing happened except for a big question mark in my mind. I certainly don't think that this book is suited for children since it wasn't that entertaining,

The illustrations are a different story. I just loved the colorful illustrations. They were so magical. Too bad the storyline didn't live up the the magic of the artwork and creatures of the Twilight Library. Two okay stars.

I received a digital ARC from North South Books through NetGalley. The review herein is completely my own and contains my honest thoughts and opinions.

This is such a lovely and sweet story for little kids. The cover and the art inside the book is magnificent, so magical and so adorable to be honest.

I picture reading this to my son when he is little older, so I will definetly be getting the printed version of this lovely book. It really made me feel all cozy and warm inside.

A beautiful story with it's own soothing rhythm. It almost lends itself to Pinteresque pauses in it's writing style and wording. I look forward to seeing the finished layout in paperback. The plot is a calming story of forest creatures at night making their way to the Twilight Library. The illustrations work alongside the story and are sweet natured and lovingly detailed.
Personally, I feel the story was lacking a hint of conflict, adventure, or detail. I would've liked just a touch more world building or additional story. As it is, I'm left feeling it was a little lacking. Though I have no doubt young children will ask for this bedtime story again and again.

This book might just have the most beautiful artwork I've ever seen in a picture book. The bats are my absolute favorite. I love the idea that the librarian calls all of the "critters" to the library and serves them up a beautiful story that makes them wish the night would never end. I want to be a twilight librarian when I grow up.

Grateful to have received a digital copy of this book from NetGally & NorthSouth Books.

This tale started off feeling like a strange dream with dreamy illustrations and creatures coming out at night. The words gently tugged and the images softly pulled and a slight smile formed at my mouth. This is cute. This is uniquely fun. A wonderful nighttime story of different creatures coming together to enjoy an evening at The Twilight Library. I can see this story becoming a favorite of every child spending time with someone special just before settling down.

The cover is pretty, but it seems as though there is a lot of empty space. I enjoyed the color palette of the graphics - soft blues, pinks, and yellows - it's a feast for the eyes. I loved the concept of the book - A library that comes to life in the forest for all the nocturnal animals to gather and have communal story time. The word choices are vivid and invoked each sense. I liked that pattern call in the beginning of the book. Overall, an original concept with pretty colored graphics, but it seemed too short in my opinion. Kids who like animals will enjoy this story. Librarians and teacher librarians will love this story since it calls to story time! Parents will like this story to read before bedtime or naptime.

Oh wow! Thank you for letting me review this lovely book.
The watercolor artwork is fantastic. Really captures that magical, whimsical feel. Makes your heart happy.
The story was also very short and sweet. I can easily see myself reading this to my kiddos both at morning story time and my actual kiddos at bedtime.
Highly recommended for those that love fairytales with animal characters. It definitely has that vibe to it.
The only downside is that I have to wait so long to share it with everyone else ;_;

This was the most adorable picture book. As a new aunt I'm really excited for the one to come out. I thought it had the perfect. good night moon kind of vibes and I loved that it was a library and that the animals needed read to sleep it was such a fun read. I can't wait to share this book with people.

This one was just okay for me. The illustrations were lovely, but there wasn't much of a story. The various insects and bugs travelled to hear their bedtime story, a spider lowered down and talked a while until everybody fell asleep. I'm not sure what age this book would appeal to but the intent of the book appeared to be lulling a child to fall asleep. It might work well as a picture book for children while they were alert, and a story to just listen to when falling asleep.

Thanks to the publisher North South Books and NetGalley for the digital review copy of this book.. These are my own opinions.

What a lovely story. I particularly enjoyed the lyrical quality of the writing. It would be a perfect short read for bedtime. The story itself is very calming, and the illustrations are beautiful.

Mixed feelings for this one. I didn’t find it engaging enough.

Yays:
- Great idea with a librarian who calls out to little critters at night to tell them a story.
- The words create a vivid picture in your mind about the natural world and its gentle sights and soothing sounds.
- No forced rhyming verses.
- Colourful watercolour-style illustrations that would be wonderful on paper.

Nays:
- There’s no proper story in the book. A major chunk of the plot is reserved for the arrival of the critters in response to the call. It was over before it even began.
- The prose is quite descriptive but it doesn’t flow smoothly enough for a bedtime read-aloud. There are a few difficult words for this reading level.
- Children’s picture books are usually either for fun or for a moralising purpose. This is neither.
- I wasn’t a fan of the formatting. (I hope this is just an ARC-related problem.)

Basically, it might work as a bedtime story, but I wouldn’t call it a must-have book. Kids who love looking at pictures without bothering about the plot will love it for sure.

3 stars.

Lovely little story for bedtime about the magic of books for the forest creatures. Most assuredly for littles who will not only add to their vocabularies, but will find the story nicely soothing. The illustration looked amazing and I am sure will look just that much more magical in color. Kudos Carmen Oliver and Miren Aslain.

Imagine a forest where night animals gather to hear a mesmerizing story, where a tale is spun and let your mind wander in beautiful landscapes. Everything is enhanced by wonderful watercolour illustrations.
The book is really short and I desperately need to read/admire more.
