A heartfelt story of a father and daughter at the end of the world. Malfi has yet again delivered a horror masterpiece. Told in both past and present timelines, the story follows a father and his almost 9 year old daughter as they flee after an apocalyptic type event. The characters in this book (well all Malfi books) are detailed, richly developed and very real. This book really hits home at the moment given the current pandemic and parts of this story felt eerily scary for that reason. My only criticism of this book is that there isn't enough of it. While it ends in a fitting way, I would love to read a sequel or even a series.

Thank you to Ronald Malfi, the publisher and Netgalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

I love a good dystopian novel and this fits the bill! As the description states, this novel is in the tradition of Stephen King' - there's a lot of notes of The Stand, Firestarter and some other, lesser known King novels.

At an unknown time,Wanderer’s Folly has taken over the world. The Folly is a pandemic and causes delusions and bleeding until the person bleeds to death. No one can figure out how it is transmitted nor how to cure it. In this novel, David Arlen is on the run with his daughter Ellie who may or may not have special powers AND be immune to the Folly. The story is well written, gripping and tense. A series of flashbacks introduce what transpired the months before the family is on the run. Can David and his daughter escape who is chasing them? Should they keep running? If you like dystopia, a bleak but very real world story, or just love a thriller about a dad and his daughter against the world, then The Night Parade is for you! #TheNightParade #RonaldMalfi #KensingtonBooks

The Night Parade is a thrill ride from the first page. A classic horror tale in the tradition of Stephen King, it's a solid addition to the apocalyptic fiction genre. I enjoyed the fast paced narrative, the well imagined characters and found Malfi's epidemic world fascinating. The Night Parade is a gruesome, solidly entertaining novel that I will enjoy recommending to horror fans.

This is a very good book, and sometimes a little spooky. It is reminiscent of old Stephan King. Though it left me with some unanswered questions I still really enjoyed it.

Ronald Malfi is awesome! This book is a true page turner and kind of creepy at time! I highly recommend reading it and discovering this author which we don't hear from as enough as he deserve!

I'm a little torn on this book. When I first started reading it, I immediately thought of Firestarter by Stephen King - a young girl with special gifts on the run with her father, who is trying to keep her safe and away from people who want to take her. The book started off slowly, but eventually picked up. However, it felt hollow to me, in a way. I never really got the answers and closure I needed and it felt so unfinished, I went to goodreads to see if this was the first in a duology or trilogy but it doesn't look like it is. It's a good book, but incomplete, possibly by design, but it felt unfinished.

In a world not so far removed from our own, a pandemic has decimated the population of earth. In this grim world, David Arlen is looking for a safe refuge for himself and his daughter. Two years into the pandemic, Arlen has begun to hope that the worst is over, only to wake up one day to discover that his wife has died and that he has begun to bleed through his nose and mouth. The mutation is called Wanderer’s Folly and it causes madness in those afflicted. David will do anything to protect his daughter, despite the things he’s beginning to see and hear. Malfi never disappoints, his stories are original and guaranteed to trouble your sleep
