I just finished reading an ARC of "99 Boyfriend of Micah Summers" by Adam Sass.

Micah Summers. has had 99 crushes but never had the courage to ask any of those guys out. (relatable) He's determined to break that streak! Once he finds Guy 100 he'll have his fairy tale romance with a happily ever after he's always wanted. Who will be guy 100 though? Is Guy 100 the handsome stranger he meets on the train....or is it someone else? Someone he never expected? Can one person have two Prince Charmings? Like the great Whitney Houston sang, "How Will I (Micah) Know?" (You'll have to pick up a copy to find out.)

I loved this book. It was ORIGINAL, humorous, heartwarming (fuzzy feeling all over) and unpredictable! I loved all the fairy tale references juxtaposed with current pop culture!

Warning the ending, which was the my favorite part, might make you cry happy tears!

Netflix, I hope this is your next adaption!

I just want to say: I KNEW IT!! I called the plot about 50 pages in, and I am so happy that I called it! (Called what exactly? You're just going to have to read the book and see for yourselves!)

This book felt like going on a quest of my own to figure out why in the world I don't have a partner yet.

The 99 Boyfriends of Micah Summers tells the story of 'The Prince of Chicago', a boy whose family is famous because of the father and a reality tv show. Micah owns an Instagram anonymous account called Instaloves, where he shares drawings of his crushes, with a fairytale twist to them. And when everyone is waiting for Boy 100, Micah decides that Boy 100 has to be 'The One'. After going on the L, Micah finds Boy 100 and, after losing him (and only having his pumpkin-embroidered jacket has a reminder that that boy was real), he goes on a quest with his friends Hannah and Elliot to find the boy he was waiting for.

The story evolves quite well, with surprises and moments to go "Aww" and moments to go "Eww". The character developments are very well written, and we don't feel rushed to meeting the characters, it goes smoothly and we easily figure out who we like and who we don't like so much.

Adam Sass did something special: he took fairytales, applied them to a modern-day world Chicago, and created a romantic story that made me want to jump on a train to find love. The sweetness and love and friendship (and gayness may I add) displayed in the story felt like there is a group of friends like Hannah, Micah and Elliot out there in the world in their own little quest to find what their lives need...

...without even realising that what they need, if already with them.

I am really happy and honoured that I got to read this ARC and share my feelings about it. The writing was amazing, it was funny and sweet and nerve-wracking precisely in the right points for the story. The drawings were brilliant ideas to add to the story, so we can feel even more inside the story and have a peek inside Micah's artistic world.

And last, but not least, love wins. Adam Sass shows it to us in this book.

While The 99 Boyfriends of Micah Summers has a solid premise and was clearly written with love, I'm sad to say I never really got into this book. I found that the writing style, dialogue, and even many elements of the plot were aimed at a younger audience. Although this made this a somewhat lacklustre reading experience for me, I didn't find it to be an objective problem, as this is a young adult book. It simply wasn't written for me. Because of this my rating is a bit higher than what it would be if I was rating this based solely off my enjoyment of it.

I'm giving it a four stars because while I really enjoyed I don't like that it ended in a happily ever after.
Micah is a boy who's never had a boyfriend but has had plenty of crushes. That is until he meets a cute boy on a train. They clearly have a connection but then don't even ask each other their names. After a trek around the city with his best friend Hannah and her other gay best friend Elliot, Micah finds Grant and they have a whirlwind relationship of fairy tale proportions. Eventually it turns sour when Grant is essentially using Micah for his celebrity status in order to boost interest in his art show.
While Micah realizes he's falling out of love with Grant he also realizes he's in love with Elliot. Now here lies my problem.
Elliot and Micah are from two very different worlds. I do think that they'll have some fun and will have an adorable relationship but if it were real I feel like it would be short lived. Micah has already shown that he just throws money at things because he thinks he's helping and Elliot isn't going to be able to live with that for long.
All in all the book was great, very cute story, just very fast paced and I stand by not every story needs a happily ever after

This book is perfect for fans of Heartstopper by Alice Oseman! The adorable and well-developed romance in this reminded me so much of that particular story, and I just loved it. I also loved the friend groups and side characters in this story, as it felt like they had as much development and importance in the book as that of the main characters!

Micah’s story touched my heart. I was fully invested in his search to find Boy 100, the Cinderella touches were brilliant.
While a predictable outcome is expected, there are enough twists to make you wonder.

This book was a cute read and an interesting, unique plot. I fell hard for the 100th boy right along with the main character and I could relate to the “crushing so hard and not able to approach but can secretly admire them from afar” take.

What a lovely summer read meant for high schoolers or people who want to feel like they're in high school again. Micah fantasizes about his first date and when it finally happens, it's just like a fairy tale. But there is a reason fairy tales are fantasy. And sometimes the fantasy isn't all it's cracked up to be.

I loved this story of young love, first times, close friends, and close family. There were no villains in the book. In fact, the protagonist was dealing with faults of his own. But it was a happy ending for most and a great "can't put the book down" read.

Recommend for high school and up.

Micah Summers has had 99 chances at finding love and he’s decided that boy 100 will be the one. A chance encounter on the train brings boy 100 into his life. By unfortunate circumstance he misses the opportunity to get any contact information for boy 100 and is just left with his jacket, so with the help of his best friend Hannah and friend-in-law Elliot, he’ll search the city to find boy 100. Will he find him? If so will it be everything Micah is looking for? Could he have already found what he was looking for? I enjoyed reading about Micah’s journey to find boy 100! I enjoyed the tie in to fairytales, especially Cinderella! I like that Micah expressed his Art and his search for The One through is Instaloves Instagram account! I enjoyed the connection that art and fashion played in the book. And Elliot was super cute and so uplifting! Plus there were so many cute romantic moments in this book! If your interested in fairytale LGBTQ rom come then you will absolutely love this book! One of my top reads of 2022! I can’t wait to get my hands on the physical book!

Overall, I felt this was a cute queer Cinderella story. Micah is the face behind a popular Instagram page in which he shares his drawings inspired by his crushes. He finds his first love and they begin a whirlwind romance and share their love of art. At the same time, he is forming a new friendship with his BFF's friend. He begins to have conflicting feelings about who is the right boy for him.

This story takes place in Chicago in the summer of 2022. I had some concerns about the logistics of the story. He didn't seem to research the actual distance between places. He also didn't research basic facts about Chicago. Micah and Grant went to eat together at a restaurant that closed permanently in 2020. Michah planned a big event at Taste of Chicago on July 6, 2022. A simple Google search would tell you that Taste didn't even start until July 8 this year.

I do realize that people not familiar with Chicago will not notice these inconsistencies, so I really tried to not let it distract me from the story.

WOW. Strong strong 5 stars i cant express how much i loved this book.. from the drawings, the fairytale stuff and such a cute romance all in one.. The thing that i loved about this book was that basically micah meets a guy who he calls boy 100 because he owns a page sketching guys he finds cute etc.. and everyone was waiting for boy 100
but is HE the guy for micah? well you have to read to find out. I love how this book turned into a quest after he found boy 100 and basically went on a quest to find him after the train left. HOWEVER Love stories can get very complicated so when Elliot which is a close friend of someones is also introduced to Micah he gets torn between 2 guys and stuck having feelings for both of them for different reasons. So basically the book was a back and fourth of who he should pick etc. I also loved how micah came from a famous father and his dad and mom were so cute as well and all the queer rep was EVERYTHING in this book from his sisters relationship, to his etc. This book is so important for YA because these books are needed. Adam knows how to write such good books and they did it again. From surrender your sons to this one adam you know i will always read a novel from you. You write such amazing stories i am so proud to have met you on twitter and see all your amazing accomplishments ❤️ And i will say THAT ENDING WAS LITERALLY PERFECT! This was a page turner i could not stop reading it was so cute. Micah was such a strong lead and so were his friends i loved seeing all the friendships blossums and stuff even when things got messy and the pictures in this novel and all the hearts were ADORABLE. I cant express how much i loved this one seriously. Also the art aspects of this novel were great.. So does everyone fairytale have a happy ending? READ THIS AND FIND OUT!

I freaking knew boy 100 was Elliot. It was always Elliot. I was team Elliot from starting. It's good they both realised that were in a wrong relationship.

I do feel bad for grunt but at some point I felt that grant loved Micah's fame more than him. And I'm glad Micah realised that Elliot was his Prince in his fairy tale.

I have always been drawn to stories and fairy tales, just like Micah, though I never had his optimism of a sure happy ending, and all the fairy tale references (Elliot's name took me so long to realize!!!!!) made this book amazing from start to finish. I do feel it was a little drawn out, I think it gave me a couple new knots in my back, but all in all, it was pretty great.

This novel was fantastic. Adam Sass is an author who knows how to write YA novels. This coming-of-age tale is an excellent novel for all those young and old. It provides a story that is interesting as well as heart-wrenching. I enjoyed reading this book because of its simply YA writing that made the novel easy to read as well as accessible for the majority of people. I really loved the coming-of-age feel I got from this book. I will recommend this book and the author to many people. These are the types of YA novels I want to see become more popularized in media.

The 99 Boyfriends of Micah Summers follows the teenage son of a former Olympian turned radio host on his journey to find love. Micah suffers anxiety when it comes to asking out boys, so instead of sharing his feelings he turns them into artwork for his popular instagram account. After going through 99 imaginary, fairytale boyfriends, Micah is determined to make boy 100 special and finally have a real relationship.
This book was a fun and fast read. The pacing was done well, leaving no points where it seemed the story was dragging. All teens can find a character to connect to in Micah. Adam Sass does a good job of showing that while he may be the main character, that does not mean that Micah always has everything in his life figured out just as almost all teens do not. The only thing we would have changed is had the main relationship develop a bit slower to make it seem more realistic given the age and lack of prior relationship experience of the characters. For anyone who loves a happy ending fit for a fairytale, but also a story that embodies the realities of life as a modern teenager, the 99 Boyfriends of Micah Summers is definitely worth a try.

Oh my, my heart! All of these characters are such precious cinnamon rolls and I'm addicted to the way this made me feel. Full of heart, hope, humor, and all the romance, this was the perfect summer love story. It was such a cute modern fairytale and such a unique way to go about it and I love that they included the drawings of each guy. I can't believe this is only a sophomore novel, I am absolutely putting Adam Sass on my auto-buy list! You won't want to miss this.

The 99 Boyfriends of Micah Summers is about the main character Micah, who as a gay teen who runs an anonymous instagram page for his artwork. He likes the anonymous aspect because his dad is somewhat of a celebrity, as a former major leaguer (in hockey, I think) and also reality-tv star. Micah wants his art to be appreciated for what it is and not because of his father. On his instagram page, Micah posts pictures that he;s drawn of all his crushes, but in fantasy form, like princes and squires and knights. And he gives each guy a number. So once he has 99 different drawings, he's pretty sure that maybe, just maybe, boy 100 will be THE ONE, The first guy that he actually talks to and asks out. Because, really, all of the other 99 guys, he has just watched from afar and sketched. He's never had a boyfriend and has never had a first kiss. All of the "99 boyfriends" are all just sketches of random guys.

And then it happens, He meets a good looking guy on the train and they actually talk. Rght about the time Micah is gong to ask for this guy's number, the train stops and the guy exits the train. Micah tries to exit as well, but stops to grab the other guy's jacket, which he'd left behind. And the train doors close. Micah watches the other guy on the train platform as the train pulls away. But, much like in Cinderella's fairy tale, Micah has this guy's jacket and decides that he will FIND boy 100 through instagram.

This was a really cute LGBTQ+ romance. Predictable, but sweet. If you were a fan of Red, White, and Royal Blue, go ahead and give this book a try.

I absolutely adored this Cinderella inspired queer romance novel. Micah posts fairytale like sketches to his anonymous Instagram account of all the boys he crushes on, but never gets up the nerve to ask them out, until boy number 100 comes along. Real life isn't a fairytale, but with the help of his best friend, Hannah, and his family, he just might find his happily ever after. Sweet romance and fantastic friendships make this YA novel a must read.

Micah Summers is well known to the world due to his famous father's reality television, but no one knows that he's the artist behind the Instalove account on social media. He's been struggling to find "the one" and has gone through 99 boys so far. Granted most of these were five seconds of looking at a guy and then immediately finding something wrong or chickening out, but hey he crushed hard for 99 guys. Now he's begging the universe for number 100, and he's found the perfect guy, at least he thinks so. Set out on an epic quest with two friends, Micah travels Chicago to find the boy that stole his heart.
This was sweet but predictable. I honestly kind of hoped it wouldn't go the way it was because then it wouldn't be such a similar story. Either way it was cute and fun and I enjoy a proper M/M romance.

This was an adorable, fairytale-inspired book!

Micah Summers, our MC, is just the most adorable. There's something so very Adam Sass about this book if you follow him on social media. Down to the exclamation points! Micah loves them!!! I fell in love with the character immediately and was rooting for him from chapter one. When he finds his boy 100 and the magic starts to happen, it's very lovely. But, of course, it can't be a book without conflict. But even the drama and angst here aren't overwhelming in any real way. Micah is honestly an absolute disaster. He's selfish in a way only the very privileged (he's super-rich) are where they think they're helping but they're just stomping all over everyone else in the process. There were a few moments where I wanted to shake him a bit just because he seemed so utterly obtuse, but it added to his character, I think.

There are definitely some aspects of the book I would change, but overall it's a quick and adorable queer YA romcom.
