This was such a cute book for appetizer ideas! LOVED the photos and the presentation, some of these were so creative! I would definitely recommend it!

In an age of cheeseboards and expensive "nibblys" taking over every bar, restaurant, and brewery, this book fits right in...except it takes an otherwise expensive endeavour down to a bite-sized, personalized format.

The jars can be had on their own for a person enjoying a quiet night in, or made en masse for a party where everyone gets their own cute personal charcuterie cup.

I prefer to do my own larger charcuterie boards, but a book like this is good for getting ideas on new things to mix together, and ways to style things.

Adorable ideas for cocktail or kid parties or even a simply catered event. It’s a sustainable way to serve individual portions, using different sizes of glass jars. Includes ideas for bento style lunches too. A must for public library collection.

Very cute. Has suggestions for making jar based party dishes. Great for COVID-conscious parties that require individual servings that can still look nice.

While there are only a handful of recipes this is still a great guide to putting charcuterie ingredients together in individual portions. I love a good charcuterie and this book has some great ideas for entertaining. I especially like the international combinations and can’t wait to try them out at my next get together.

Jarcuterie is a mishmash of the words “jar” and “charcuterie” to describe an arrangement of sweet foods and salty foods in an individual serving container (glass jars, vintage tea cups, paper cones, etc) to prevent the contamination of a shared platter or board.

Similar to the platter books and board books that I’ve read and reviewed, this book was centered upon classic, seasonal, festive, and other jarcuterie arrangements. The recipes were a list of supplies, a list of ingredients, instructions for skewer assembly, and instructions for final assembly in the serving container. All were fairly simple, although sometimes the ingredients were very specifically named without substitution or explanation. At the end of the book were a dozen or so supplemental recipes for items such as fall bark, polar bear cookies, cucumber canapés, and the like that are ingredients in the jarcuterie arrangements. These supplemental recipes were exceedingly simple.

Each jarcuterie recipe was accompanied by a full color photograph of the final arrangement. Although often the beautiful photograph did not match the arrangement instructions. The supplemental recipes at the back of the book were not accompanied by any photographs.

Overall, the book seriously underplayed the effort that it would take to prepare the ingredients and assemble the individual containers. Especially when certain ingredients not only had to be rinsed and cleaned, but also cut into shapes either by hand or with a cookie cutter. The thought that putting together four individual jarcuterie would take less time and effort than putting together one board for four people is an absurd thought.

I received this book as a digital advance reader copy provided by NetGalley in exchange for an honest opinion. I have yet to try any of the recipes from this book, but will update my review when I do.

This cookbook is so cute! It is perfect for people who want to spruce up their children's lunchboxes or create lovely food displays for brunches with friends.

I love the concept of personalized charcuterie cups. This is perfect for party planning. All of the crazy outside the box recipes were great.. Some of the seasonal ones could have been better. Some were just sweets in a cup but I felt there were too many of those.

I love the concept of Jarcuterie! A highly customisable, individual portions of cute and unique snacks/canapes makes this the ideal entertaining design for me, especially in a Covid world. I love that you can handle allergies and dietary requirements easily and it's a quirky easy to present and clean up format. There are so many ideas in the book for different occasions that I can't wait to try them out with some friends!

This book contains the “secret to success” for those of us who love to entertain but are usually at a loss for unique and engaging ideas of how to approach our next event. “Jarcuterie” by Suzanne Billings shows how to take the complicated (yet popular) charcuterie board and transfer it into a jar, a glass, and array of other inventive receptacles. Your guests will be pleased, impressed and delighted.

The Jarcuteries can be thought of as graze cups. They're filled with munchies, packed into a handheld object, and are then portable, leaving folks able to meander about the party. These are quick to assemble making it a breeze for the host or hostess. This book offers so many themes you will never be at a loss for ideas All the holidays are covered plus international themes like Asian, Spanish and Greek, then there’s BBQ, pool parties, grad parties, game day – if you can think it, you can probably find it in this book.

Vessels? Don’t worry. All’s fair in love and Jarcuterie. The author uses everything from canning jars, ice cream cones, and red cups, to martini glasses. There are literally dozens of ideas.

There are tips on the actual presentation. The cutting, slicing and dicing. How to thread the foods on sticks. What are tasty combinations. It’s all here. Let author Suzanne Billings do the hard part. You can now relax and enjoy.

I really liked the ideas in this book. I loved that it had an idea for each holiday which saves so much time scrolling Pinterest. Very cute! I can't wait to make some jarcuterie!

I've been obsessed with charcuteries and this is a great way to add some zing to an existing board. There are also great ideas for grab and go stations instead of a full board people get to pick from.

Very pretty presentation and loads of ideas for presenting nibbles with drinks for guests or as part of a party spread. A lot of the ideas would be easy to copy and adapt to a European setting as some of the ingredients would probably be difficult to find, especially if you live outside of a large town.

On the subject of finding things, I'm not sure if everyone would be able to lay their hands on the cute little containers used in the photos either.

An inspiring book but but let down by a lack of alternatives to the brand names.

Overall, this is an attractive, nicely photographed book with cute presentation ideas for appetisers, treats and snacks. Its weakness is in the details. Most of the ‘recipes’ are just assemblies of items (often, specific brands) that may be tricky for an international readership. Everything bagel seasoning, Tarin, Colby Jack cheese - with no explanation or guidance on substition options, understanding the elements becomes a big Googling exercise .
Thanks to Netgalley, author and publisher for this arc.

I never knew all the possibilities for Jarcuterie before this book. To be honest, I didn’t even know that Jarcuterie was a thing before this book. But now that I know, I’m obsessed. It’s perfect for gatherings now a days that everyone is able to have their own snack without contaminating the others. Loved the fun ideas presented in this book and can’t wait to try them out! Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for an ARC of this beautiful book!

Charcuterie trays have been all the rage in the last couple of years. This book takes that concept to a more personal level. After the last couple of years people might be uncomfortable grazing on a community tray so jarcuterie takes the charcuterie concept to a personal level. Everyone has their own handheld snack tray. These are beautifully put together an look so appetizing. There are jars for holidays and any event you could ever think of. The author shares a wide variety of objects you can use to create these snack jars. You are only limited by your own creativity. These are great for your next party or family game night.

Innovative ideas for the presentation of single-portion charcuterie, ideal in a world where we are more concerned about physical contact/mixing and also ideal for parties catering for a wide range of diets. The book is grouped into themes - birthdays, Easter, ball games, and so on. The receptacles range from quite a lot of glassware - ramekins, small Kilner/Mason jars - to some disposable/reusable wooden ones - cones and the like. there is, I'm glad to say, very little single use plastic material. The food itself is fairly as expected - mini sausages with or without blankets, squares of cheese, olives, thinly sliced or diced meat, fruits but they are mixed together rather more than in typical finger-food types events and many have the little nibbles - nuts, mini-crackers etc - in the base of the receptacle. The description claims "a breeze to transport" - not totally convinced about many with regards to that. Many of the 'recipes' are for 4-8 and would be considerably time consuming if you were catering for a party of 20 or so I think as many need preparation fairly soon before the event. Ingredients are easy enough to find although I don't know about the rather garish sweeties or some of the Pretselly things - Pocky sticks?? Very USA I guess. Clear step-by-step instructions, if really needed, and lovely photographs to whet the appetite. Interesting concept and some useful ideas. Thanks to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group - Rock Point for an advance copy in exchange for my honest review.

If you like to entertain these ideas are where it's at. I love the individual charcuterie concepts so folks can grab and go rather than picking from the same board. So cute and creative and there ideas for special occasions and holidays.
