Over the last few years, Marnie Fairchild had built a solid business as a gift buyer for busy (and wealthy) people who had no idea what to purchase for the special someones in their lives. Her best client was Brian Charlesworth, and he required Marnie’s skill in gifting for his wife, his children, and his mistress. Marnie, always discreet, ensured that each person important to Brian was delighted with their gifts, tailored to their interests and desires. As the daughter of the black sheep of the wealthy Fairchild family, Marnie treasured her memories of her grandfather and of the shop he had once owned, which was now the possession of her uncle Lewis. Her greatest dream was to own the building where Fairchild & Sons had once been, and when she learned the building was going up for auction, she was so desperate to get the details that she mixed up the gifts Brian Charlesworth had requested. His mistress got the expensive stand mixer that Suzanne Charlesworth coveted, while Suzanne opened the weekend bag with the monogrammed silk robe, intended for the mistress, in front of a group of friends and family.
Incensed at Marnie’s mistake, which resulted in Suzanne throwing him out of the house, Brian confronted Marnie at her shop and threatened to destroy her business. With the future of Wish & Co. hanging in the balance, and the possibility of purchasing the old Fairchild & Sons building, Marnie knew she would have to find a solution quickly.
I really enjoyed this book! Marnie’s determination, first in building her business, and then in placating Brian by helping him win Suzanne back, and her focus on the old storefront, was admirable. Add in her unexpected romance with Luke Charlesworth, Brian and Suzanne’s son, and his surprisingly complicated life, and you have an interesting storyline with the always delightful HEA.

Every now and then I LOVE an easy read with a lovely story and enough ‘meat’ to keep me interested. Wish & Co filled the bill perfectly. The setting is Australia, the characters all have character. The author does a wonderful job of describing the characters so you feel like you know them.

I understand why people like romance books: they are fast paced, full of snog, and meant to leave you feeling warm and fuzzy. To me, they are just to predictable. The moment a character was introduced, I know where things going to end. They always end with some happily ever after moment and no problem left in the world.
Marnie was lonely, but she occupied herself with her gift selecting for people who either had too money or had no time or both. She always dreamt of buying her grandfather’s store and make that place her dream store. But she messed up with one (actually two) deliveries. After that point whether she could afford buying grandfather’s store or not became one of her lesser problems. But you know, as expected things all worked out, and it is up to you to take time and read how that happened.
I liked the writing and gave it 3 stars just because it was a good palate cleanser. But I could use more twists and turns, and little bit more head scratching.

I’m kind of indifferent to this one - there were parts I enjoyed, the writing was decent, and the premise was interesting, but for some reason it didn’t really land with me. I found myself pushing through to finish it.
Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the e-ARC.

With Love from Wish & Co.

I enjoyed Minnie Darke's previous book, The Lost Love Song and though melancholier, I really enjoyed Darke's writing style. that had me so excited to pick up With Love from Wish & Co. I loved that the story is about Marnie who is a boutique buyer of gifts for discerning clients - I would have loved to be her friend, since gift buying is not my forte. In this story, a slight distraction catches Marnie into switching the gifts for her biggest and most important client - his wife's Anniversary present and his mistress' birthday present. Of course, this implodes and what comes next is such a fun and sweet story to read. I enjoyed how light and cozy this read is.

Marnie Fairchild comes from a long line of Fairchilds, but that does not guarantee that she will inherit the historic store that has been in her family forever. Marnie runs an upscale gift-buying service that has its share of high-end clients who count on her discretion. When one mistake lands Marnie in a world of trouble, she is doing anything and everything she can to get back in good graces with her most prized customer Brian Charlesworth. Unfortunately, along the way, she also happens to fall in love with Brian's son, which leads to half-truths and sticky situations. But to what end will Marnie go to save her business? Is love worth giving everything up? This was a fun, heartwarming story that I enjoyed immensely. Thank you, NetGalley, for the eARC. 4 stars.

This marks my first experience with the author and I really enjoyed this Australian romance, heavily laden with family drama. Marnie Fairchild, a determined businesswoman, runs a gift-wrapping shop, though must of her profits come from her gift-buying clients. Through Internet research and questions, Marnie mainly helps men with complicated family lives better manage their life through thoughtful gifts that Marnie finds, buys and wraps. One of her biggest clients- Brian Charlesworth - has his 40th wedding anniversary on the same day as his mistress' birthday. Somehow, the gifts get swapped, sending the Charlesworth family into shambles. Brian blames Marnie and along the way, his son learns that his father's gifts have been outsourced for the past five years. And while he doesn't like Marnie's role in his family, he does find himself drawn to her.
The plot may follow predictable paths, but it makes for entertaining reading nonetheless. I think Marnie's job is an interesting one - and one that I think my aunt would have liked to have. And while the characters here don't always make good choices, they do come to life and are easy to root for. I appreciated the Sydney setting and found myself always eager to pick this back up - and curious to hear an audio version. It's not a steamy romance novel - it has a definite romantic comedy feel to it. And I could definitely see this being made into a sweet Hallmark movie. It's a lovely read and I will definitely read - or listen - to more from this author in the future!

4 out of 5 stars - If you ask me, I'll tell you to read it.
Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine, Dell for this advanced copy. All opinions are my own.
This is the story of Marnie, owner of Wish & Co, a personalized gift buying service used by the wealthy. She researches the gift recipient to find the best gifts for them. Until it all goes wrong and she accidentally sends gifts to the wrong people, a customer's wife and mistress.
I have always loved the idea of being a personal shopper for someone. I like shopping and helping to find the right thing, but I never considered the moral issues that could come up!
I enjoyed getting to know the characters of this story. I will have to keep my eyes open for other books by this author.

This was a super light-hearted and easy read. The book was a bit shallow but I think that is fine for some books. It felt a little like a hallmark movie to me. I do think the story could have wrapped up sooner but I still enjoyed reading it.

OK, so the whole premise/plot of this book involves infidelity, both the discovery and forgiveness of. If that is a trigger for you, this is not your book. Also, what is up with that cover? I know "flat" artwork is popular but the dude's face looks like a kid drew it. Anyway, I found it a bit hard to get invested in the main characters. I liked the setting and the author's style of writing though. I would definitely read another book by this author, even though this one didn't quite land for me.

With Love From Wish and Co. by Minnie Darke is a charming story about someone who has a knack for finding a person their perfect gift and the people who hire her to do so. One mixup might ruin her, but she has a plan to fix her mistake and learn what she really wants in her life!

Marnie Fairchild has wanted one thing her entire life: to own the building that housed her grandfather’s store and to make it her own. When she has to rush off to get details on its sale, she makes a life altering mistake. She switches the gifts for Brian Charlesworth’s 40th wedding anniversary to his wife and his mistress’s birthday. Her premier gift buying service will take a hit for this error, and she can’t afford that with the building finally up for auction. And to make matters worse, she’s falling in love with Brian’s son, Luke.
With Love From Wish & Co. engaged my attention from the very first page until the end. Warm, full of emotion and drama, with like able quirky characters and humorous situations, I was entertained completely.

This cover looks so cute and the summary seemed like a lighthearted romance. Yes, it was clearly going to tackle some serious subjects like infidelity, but it didn't seem like a heavy read.
Unfortunately, it's TOO light. I got a quarter into the book and didn't care about any of the characters. I couldn't justify sinking more time into this story. It took too long to get to the pivotal incident - did we need that Luke storyline before the anniversary party? - and it was trying to do too much.
As many people have said, the chapters and their breakdown are weird. It's terrible to see that the next chapter is going to be 40+ minutes long when you're already struggling to stay interested.
This one isn't for me.

Marnie Fairchild opened Wish & Co to help clients get a personalized shopping experience. But when her most prized customer, Brian Charlesworth had her preparing TWO gifts - one for his wife and one for his mistress, she knows she might be in over her head.
After a disastrous gifting error, a complicated bid for a new storefront, Marnie feels lost. That is until a new love interest pops up…
Minnie Darke writes complex characters so well you can help but find yourself rooting for them. “Readers will have no trouble rooting for these flawed but lovable characters to learn, thrive, and find love.”

This is a light, fluffy and comfy read about love which was very predictable however, it was very sweet to read. This is a good one to take to the beach or sit in a comfy cozy corner while it's raining. Overall this is a good read and I enjoyed it. I would buy it for my friends and go to the beach. Thanks to the publisher and NetGally for the opportunity to read this book and provide my unbiased opinion.

Marnie is an entrepreneur who's most recent venture is offering gift buying and wrapping services to wealthy clients who have complicated lives in a small town in Australia. With a whopper of a mistake that threatens the lifeblood of her business, Marnie struggles through the ordeal with valour and turns it around to once again be helpful to those in her community. Then a new relationship comes into play with complications that could lead to more unhappiness for a certain family. The characters are rich, the story sweet and an overall good read. A great break from my usual murder & mayhem. Got to love a story in a small town with colorful characters and the intimate look at how friendships work together for the good of the community.
Good job, Minnie Darke!

I enjoyed this book but I didn't absolutely love it. it felt very middle of the road for me, I don't remember much of what actually happened in this book. I Kind of feel like the book was a little too long. The characters were just ok, I didn't really connect with them, I also kind of feel like we ended up in a not-so-great cycle with Marnie and her gift buying for Brian, I just didn't care for the process.
I think I would be more likely to recommend this if you like books that don't have a lot of depth and are just looking for something easy to read.
Thank you to Netgalley and Random House Ballantine for an eARC in exchange for my honest thoughts

In this novel, Marnie runs a personalized high end gift buying service. But when she accidentally mixes up the gifts intended for an important client’s wife and mistress, her plans for her business are endangered. Interspersed with Marnie’s viewpoint are chapters from the POV’s of the client, Brian, his wife, Suzanne, and his son Luke who has a bit of a meet cute with Marnie. So this book has work drama, family drama, and romance as well.
This is the third book by Minnie Darke and the third I’ve read by her, and I really enjoyed all three. Her books are sweet and cute, light and fun but with emotions too. Sort of like an Australian Sophie Kinsella or Marian Keyes, perhaps.

I really love Marnie's job. In fact, it was the best part of this book. The way she goes about things and her relationship with Luke is the worst part of this book. Luke is just mean. #sorrynotsorry they made the worst couple because of it and I didn't forgive and forget as easily as Marnie. Because of this, I give this book ⭐️⭐️⭐️
