When Nell Delaney enters a marriage of convenience to save the family’s coffee shop, it is almost taking things too far but the deal with her sisters is hard to avoid. One major hurdle is to pretend to love the outdoors. Grant Williams knows that Nell is pretending to love nature but the chemistry between them is too major to ignore. However, when he finds out that he is part of a bet, he decides to be the worst bachelor on the market.

Both Nell and Grant were great characters, with a sweet romance between them. Together their conversations are witty and lively, yet they still manage to have some serious miscommunication. A fun read.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley and Entangled Publishing. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

No pressure, but either ell or one of her two sisters has to be in love within 30 days in order to save the family business. Nell sets her sights on Grant, Mr. Outdoorsman. It was funny because they are polar opposites and Nell doesn’t fare well in the great outdoor.
I like the fake dating and trying to deceive everyone while just the opposite happens.
It’s a cute, fast read for anyone looking for a lighthearted romance to escape into.

I enjoyed Nell and Grant's story. It definitely felt a little insta-love at the beginning and they spend a huge chunk of the book trying to outlast the other from giving in too soon and calling the whole thing off. There were some funny scenes and I didn't expect to feel a little emotion when things fell apart for them.
FYI this is a clean romance. All these two do is kiss.

The Delaney sisters have just learned their family home and business are in jeopardy. One way to save both would be to marry the son of the man who took advantage of their father. So Nell and her sisters agree that whoever doesn't find love in the next thirty days must =take one for the team. Nell knows the perfect guy to approach because she's had a crush on him forever.

Grant Williams has his own business, he's an adventure guide. Nell is part of his next hiking group trip but one look at her and he knows she is not the outdoorsy type. She twists her ankle on the return hike and they get caught in a rain storm that strands them both in his nearby cabin.

They have great chemistry. Each quickly realizing that they want to spend more time together and feeling really lucky to have found one another. But when Grant ventures into town the next morning he learns of the sister's bet. Feeling duped he returns to the cabin with a plan to make her dump him.

First Bride to Fall is the first story in a new trilogy by Ginny Baird. Sisters Nell, Charlotte, and Misty Delaney are presented with a dilemma. In order to salvage the family business, Bearberry Brews, their parents home, and set the family up financially, it has been put forth that if one of the girls will agree to marry the son of the man who had been their father’s business partner until he swindled the Delaney’s out of millions of dollars, they will be able to own half the company and pay off all their debt. The stipulations are that the marriage will be in name only, must last five years, and it doesn’t matter which girl Aidan Strong marries.

Nell is the eldest, and shyest, of the sisters and has always taken care of the younger ones. In fact, they almost assume she will bite the bullet and save them all. But Nell has dreams of her own, and finally decides she must act. Grant Williams caught Nell’s eye in high school and she has dreamt of him since. Grant owns an outdoor business selling supplies, equipment, and experiences. Nell signs up for a supposedly easy hike but her clothing is less than perfect and the weather becomes a downpour. Between Nell’s fear of heights, slipping on the muddy surface, rolling her ankle, and landing on Grant it begins as one of the worst days in her life. When the bridge is washed out they seek refuge at his mountain cabin, where the magic begins.

But, literally overnight it becomes a full force rom com! This is the funniest, most delightful book I can recall. The smart moves of both Nell and Grant as they play out this silly one-upmanship game had me laughing out loud. The writing is so witty, the plot so lovely, and the climax just perfect! I very much enjoyed this book and I absolutely do recommend it!

This story is sweet and funny. It has some quirky moments and characters. Nell and her sisters devise a plan to save their failing business and family home. She decides to finally go after the guy she has wanted since high school. Grant is an outdoor adventure guide. Their first adventure nearly ends in disaster but is the beginning of their relationship. The reader will enjoy the interesting trip that the story takes as the couple Works’s their way to their happily ever after.

This is a Hallmark-style small town romance about three sisters from a very close-knit family that are desperate to save the family business. Desperate enough, even, to consider a marriage of convenience with the son of the man who swindled them, who is hoping to ease his conscience. The sisters make a pact that the last one to remain unengaged at the end of 30 days will fall on the sword, so now it's every woman for herself!

Nell is the oldest and has always been the caretaker of the family. She's had a thing for Grant since high school, but was too timid to take action. Now that's she's on the clock, she decides to put her own happiness first and shoot her shot. All seems to go well...until he learns the real story. Then the games are on!

I liked the unique direction the story took. Instead of just getting mad, Grant and Nell both decide to get even. It makes for lots of funny banter and clever antics as they try to antagonize each other. This adds some nice zing to an otherwise fluffy and wholesome story. Pick this up for a sweet, soothing comfort read with some laughs!

Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review!

A funny, tender and emotional love story. Nell is been; pinning on Grant for so long that she even make him a birthday gift which never gives him. Now she needs to be engaged in less than thirty days in order to keep the family business. It makes sense for her to finally make a move on Grant. But she will be brave enough to do it and tell him the real reason for pursuing him? You will laugh out loud, and also cry with the shenanigans they will be through. A really great reading and better as audiobook, Rachel does a really good job with all the emotions.

Humorous, sweet, clean romance with clever dialogue and narrative
What this story may lack in steam it makes up for it with clever writing, great plot and well-developed characters. I was intrigued in the very beginning. Three sisters, marriage of convenience in the 21st century, and assuaging someone’s guilt for a wrong done many years before.
The Delaney family’s café, Bearberry Brews is hit with hard times. If something doesn’t happen soon, they are going to have to close for good. Grace Delaney, matriarch of our little clan makes up with Jane a former good friend whose husband John Strong had messed up big time, leaving hard feelings and a breach too far. After his death his wife tries to undo all his bad choices. Jane’s son Aidan Strong needs a wife. The Delaney’s need money. A match made in … really?
First of a series of standalones, this book was a great introduction to the family and the three sisters: Nell, Charlotte and Misty. This story is about 30yo Nell Delaney and her long-held crush on 32yo Grant Williams. So funny whether the reader is “hearing” what Nell thinks or her conversations with Grant, this book will have you smiling. One exception near the ending, which in my opinion is TV-movie-worthy. If you like strong women on a mission and her handsome target getting their HEA, read this book. I volunteered to read an ARC of this book through Entangled/NetGalley. I loved it!

I enjoyed the first book in this new series. It seems the Delaney's are having hard financial times. So Grace Delany and Jane Strong have decided it is time to right a wrong. The only problem is it's going to take a marriage of convenience for 5 years to fix the situation. Charlotte, Misty and Nell Delaney are going to have to decide which one it will be. Everyone thinks it will be Nell the oldest but she has other plans. Her long time crush on Grant Williams is the catalyst. The two of them are about as different as night and day. He is all about outdoor adventures and she is a homebody. From the moment she gets out of the car for the hike, Grant felt the pull. The sparks and flirting feel like they have found home. When the truth comes out, he walks. Can you walk away from the only person that makes you feel like you found home? Grant finally figures it out. Hopefully Nell hasn't left on a jet plane.

First Bride to Fall by Ginny Baird is a hilarious rom com! Nell had me in stitches dressing up for her outdoor debut to win over this unsuspecting groom to be.... Once he finds out, all hell breaks loose and the games really begin to heat up!

Fast paced with good flow, the writing is enjoyable with surprising depth. First Bride to Fall is the first in a new series by Ginny Baird- for future reference, the series is called Majestic Maine and this is book one.

Thank you to NetGalley, Entangled Publishing, LLC and author Ginny Baird for this digital copy for me to read and enjoy. As always, my opinions are my own and my reviews are voluntary!

This is a very funny romcom. It reminded me of the old black and white comedies that I enjoy. Both Grant and Nell know that something suspicious is going on, and they keep ratcheting up the pressure on each other in order to get the whole story. I can't wait to read Misty and Charlotte's stories!

Interesting concept of a story. The three sisters work in their parent's coffee shop and have just learned that one of them has to marry the son of the man who swindelled their father out of his money in 30days. The sisters bet that whoever doesn't have a boyfriend in 30 days will marry him. Nell has always liked Grant and set out to get him to fall in love with her. It didn't quite work out how she wanted but the story isn't over yet. It will be interesting to see if there are books to follow the storyline.

There are positive and negative things about this book. I really appreciated that this book was a clean romance and it had no foul language. On the other side, the main character Nell, basically lied to her romantic interest ( Grant )from the very beginning. She pretended to like outdoor adventures and didn't tell him why she wanted the relationship to move forward so quickly. If you have lie, what kind of relationship is that?

Of course all the lies come out, but it sort of made me not want to route for them. I didn't want Nell to get what she wanted because of how she went about trying to get it. This is the first in a series, I am on the fence about reading the rest of the series.

The end is typical of a romance novel. It also left things open for the next book.

Sweet and charming contemporary romance. All the lies seemed to affect me more than the characters. Pleasant and interesting characters. Easy to read and enjoy. Thanks to the publisher for providing a copy via NetGalley.

Though I enjoyed this story idea, I think I found it difficult to navigate the manipulations that were taking place. I enjoyed that the heroine got an opportunity to meet with her long time crush, though I wish there was less ignorant arrogance when characters go into athletic situations like hiking and not really being prepared etc. I enjoyed some of the stubborn actions in the midst of their stand off, but also felt like it was really forced and kind of odd too. Something wasn't flowing for me with it, but I understand that it needs tension moments to keep the momentum of the story going. Mostly I felt sad that such a tender connection that could have been genuine and kept genuine was forced along these manipulations instead of just being kind of more upfront, honest and communicative. I am not a big fan of romance plots that don't have emotional vulnerability as a big part of the journey. The heroine seemed way too insecure emotionally for me.

It is a quick ,fun and sweet read with lots of conversations and interaction between the characters. It has some funny scenes that will make you laugh out loud. The actual premise of the story and the bet between the sister is very far fetched, but it fits the story.

It did bother me a bit that both characters lied to each other. It is not a great way to start a new relationship.

First Bride to Fall is a super sweet romance. It is perfect when you need a reminder that love, and family are what is most important in the world.
Nell will do anything for her family, even giving up her one chance at love to save the family business. Nell and her sisters make a bet to help save the family business, if one of them is not engaged within 30 days, that girl will need to marry Aidan. Nell decides this is the perfect time for her to finally go after the man she has been in love with for years. Once Grant finds out about the bet, he decides to get even with Nell. This is the part I liked best, once they both know the other knows what is going on and neither is going to back down.
While the sisters did seem a bit juvenile at times, I had a tough time believing they were in their mid/late twenty’s. Overall, I did enjoy this one and I think this would make a great Netflix movie.
Thank you to Net Galley and Entangled Publishing for my eArc. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Like a piece of candy, sometimes you want something sweet. This book is extra sweet - even sappy at times, but it will bring a smile to your face. Nell has always been the caretaker of the family - helping her parents and her sisters when they have needs. Nell has been crushing on Grant since high school, but has been too shy to approach him. When an arranged marriage to Aidan may be the only way to save the family business, Nell and her sisters make an agreement that one of them will marry him if they are not already engaged. This is Nell's last chance to attract Grant. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Even though I understood why Nell didn't tell Grant about Aidan, I didn't like how she lied about her hiking and camping experience. I also didn't like how Grant retaliated when he found out. Other than that, this is a light and amusing story that will bring a smile on your face and may have you laughing out loud.

Sometimes you just need a sweet cheesy romance to lift your mood. I could certainly see this becoming a Hallmark movie....which I would definitely watch! This is a perfect summer ready.

This story was a sweet romance. Nell finally was spurred to take some action on her longtime crush Grant. The book made me laugh at some of the characters antics. It's a fast easy read with a good happily ever after ending. I'm looking forward to the stories of Nell's sisters. I think they will be just as fun. I received an advance copy from NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review.
