It was lovely to be back in Applewell, amongst this lovely community of people that care about each other, and about the world too.

In this latest installment the recycling / upcycling type themes from the series are continued with Gracie's stop - A Stitch in Time. Gracie doesn't purchase any materials, but from scraps she is able to make the most wonderful things, that are unique, as well as supplying the local charity shop with rag dolls and more.

I enjoyed getting to know Lucas's backstory, and his passion for homeless charity UnderCover just shone through. It was admirable and I really felt for him at times.

Equally I could relate to Gracie's shyness, and was urging her on in my head to just take a chance, given her attraction to Lucas was rather obvious.

I really felt as though I was part of this community and really enjoyed getting to know Applewell and the surrounding area in Wales. It's a gorgeous sounding setting, and it's clear that so much of this book and series is a great passion for the author.

It's written with heart, and I had a great time reading this.

Thank you to Canelo and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

I received a digital arc of this book from netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This is the third in the applewell series and was another great read. This focussed on Gracie who we have come to learn more about in the previous two books. Quick and easy to read. Would recommend.

What a wonderful and cozy book! Lilac Mills is definitely one my favorite author and she didn't deceive me this time again! I loved everything about this book, the settings, the storyline, the suspense, the relationships between the main characters. This is a very lovely read that I can only recommend to all the chicklit books lovers! 4 stars out of of 5 for me!

Great to be back in Applewell! Fun, romantic, light hearted read. Really enjoyable. Able to read as a stand-alone book but the series is great. Wonderful to see old characters woven into the fabric of the new comers story in this burgeoning community. Perfect to be devoured in one.

Thank you Netgalley

A quick and easy read that I found myself picking up after a long day to unwind. The characters are beautifully written and I came to love them within the first few pages and was rooting for them all the way to the end. At times I wanted to stop reading because I just wanted the experience to go on for longer.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is the first book I've read by this author, and I didn't realise until I finished the book that it was the 3rd in a series, which only goes to prove it can be read as a stand-alone book.
I really enjoyed reading this and quickly fell in love with the village and the characters, I'll definitely be going back and reading books 1 and 2. This story revolves around Lucas, who ran away from Applewell and his family home when he was just 17. The loss of a close friend and his promise to them to rebuild his relationship with his family finding Lucas returning home for a few weeks to clear as head and see his family, if they will accept him back. It's only a couple of weeks, how hard can it be? However Lucas didn't plan on meeting Grace, who owns “A Stitch in Time” as well is helping out with sewing for the local charity shop “Undercover”. Just as Lucas is thinking, can you really leave the bright lights of London and settle back down in the village, a misunderstanding causes him to question if he can really trust Grace. The storyline flows well and covers some topical issues around recycling, charity and the homeless, not one if you like a lot of drama but definitely want to curl up with on a rainy afternoon.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an early release copy to review. I look forward to visiting Applewell and the characters again.

After running away from Applewell in his teens Lucas has returned home to mend fences with his family and take up a new job.

Gracie runs a small business upcycling clothes she finds in the local charity shop. However, Lucas new job might put Gracie out of business.

When there is a disaster with Lucas’ sister’s wedding dress the only person he can ask for help is Gracie. But will she be willing to put aside their differences?

This is the third book in the Applewell series. It can be read as a standalone. I loved reading this one.

Always a treat to read a book by Lilac Mills and this one isn't any different! Very well set and topical with the re-use, recycle, repurpose theme in the background.

It was easy to like Gracie and her banter with friends from the community and trading stuff instead of buying new things. Of course there was a proper love story as the main storyline, but I can't help wonder what the mystery with the bags of classy clothing turning up at the UnderCover secondhand store was. I'm hoping to find out in the sequel!

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of the book.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book. I have chosen to write this honest review voluntarily and it reflects my personal opinion.
This is the second book I have read by this author although I have not read the previous books in this series yet. I realise that reading the series in order would make it more enjoyable as characters appear throughout, linking the books, but it is possible to read this book as a standalone without feeling anything has been missed, or repeated.
Whilst the book falls under the 'romance' genre it is definitely only a part of the lovely story in this book, which is completely on-trend with the emphasis on upcycling, reduction of waste and caring for individuals. There are comical and sad moments, lovely characters and a very enjoyable story; I completely recommend this book

Gracie meets Lucas when he is back in town for a visit, his first proper visit since he left Applewell when he was 17. What is he really doing in town and what will it mean for Gracie and her new business?
I like how it is told from both points of view and the area that is local to me!

I didn't realise this was part of a series, but I was able to read it without having read the others.

This was a cute story that is an easy read with adorable characters. I appreciate Gracie's character, and how the book tackles real issues.
I thought it slightly slow but it's a light story I enjoyed overall.

A sweet love story! This is just what you need to read on the beach or curled up in a country cottage. There were some serious elements to the story too with just lovely characters. I need to go back and read the rest of the series now.

Another delightful book in the Applewell series. What a lovely village, full of a range of personalities and characters. This book looks at life in the village and introduces many modern day issues. Well worth reading.

We are back in Applewell again for the third book in this series but they can be read a standalones. A lovely lovely story and a real pleasure to read. I am going to save all of this series to read again at some stage. Well worth 5 stars, wish it could be more.

Thanks to Netgalley and publisher for this ARC

A great feel good story which also covers homelessness, belonging, family and caring about others and my favourite topic, sewing. I never like to give storylines away so all I would say is that I couldn’t wait to keep reading this book and was disappointed on reaching the end. It has meaning in the storyline and how coping with life can turn people to make certain decisions.

A brilliant read from an author I will look out for with future novels.

I absolutely love Applewell, I wish I lived in a village like this. This is the third bookin the series but can be read as a stand-alone (why you’d want to when you can have so much more fun reading the others too) I loved seeing some old faces and getting to know the new ones, I adore the community, the ethical and green focus in the books, fantastic escapism with heart

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for an honest opinion

Very sweet story. Charming characters, great setting, i felt that the story was strong and flowed very well. Sat and read on a lovely sunny day in May, and it really left me with a sense of happiness at the ending.

Lucas and Gracie are the main characters in this third installment of the Applewell Village series. Both are rather lost and alone, not willing to risk being hurt. Lucas returns home after seventeen years away and seems finally to be ready to give Applewell another chance, especially after he meets seamstress Gracie. I loved the focus on recycling clothing in this book, as well as the attention to the homeless situation. We can and should be doing more. Note to author/editor/publisher – Alaska is not in Canada. 😊
